In this video, I talk about a new-age cult known as Teal Swan. It revolves around somebody who calls herself "Teal". I discuss the group with guest Andey Fellowes. We talk about the BITE model, some of the stranger beliefs, and how the group is organized. We also discuss the law of attraction, and much more.

I started to listening to Teal Swan at a very low point in my life. But, I wasn't seeking connection. I kept to myself and followed what she said about inner child work, facing your inner shadow, etc. It worked very well for me and has helped me become more comfortable with myself in general. But, that was because I worked to know who I am and how I feel, not join a group. It makes me sad to think about different things that had occurred that I did not know about. Everytime she would talk about people calling her a cult leader or brainwasher, I was always confused because it always seemed to me that she was advocating for someone to work alone and learn about who they are. I am glad I found her and used the information that she put out there that helped me, but I hope people find what works for them because everyone has different needs that have to be met. The one thing that I think is most important, take the good that helps you from religion, spirituality, etc, and leave the bad behind. I hope those who get into cults because they want a group will eventually have the confidence to be themselves, alone, to find their group who accepts them without them needing to change their entire personality to fit in.

I kind of feel this way too. I has very positive experiences using her psychology based healing processes. I did know about some of her more outlandish beliefs and just shrugged them off cause you dont need to believe shes an alien to believe her mental healing process is helpful. I can see how people can find this stuff dangerous but at the same time this interviewee hasn't really given many sources to fact check his claims so I feel weird about this entire video tbh

@JustAnotherBuckyLover 5 лет назад
The presence of ads doesn't automatically mean it isn't demonetised. Even a demonetised video (or a video on channels that aren't able to be monetised at all) can have ads on - it just means that RU-vid takes all the revenue for itself and the creator gets NOTHING. So never trust that a video is monetised just because it still has ads showing up.

@JustAnotherBuckyLover
@JustAnotherBuckyLover 5 лет назад
@@rajanogray9088 There are a lot of people who are very unhappy about that, among other things - like automatic demonetisation for just having the wrong keyword, for videos being removed or demonetised for breaking their TOS or "appropriate" content without any explanation that doesn't appear to have done so, the arbitrary blocking of commenting or monetisation, removing monetisation potentially from channels if you dare to protest a video being demonetised too often, that any mention of topics around mental health, sexuality (even educationally) or standing up against bigotry gets you demonetised and that RU-vid insists that demonetisation doesn't affect reach and recommendations of videos, and yet it measurably does so, the lack of communication to creators, the totally messed up copyright system that allows a person to make a false copyright claim even though its illegal to do so, just to remove any video that they choose that contains fair use parts of their content that is critical of them or whatever, and its not validated by in independent RU-vid person - but by the person making the false copyright infringement claim and RU-vid's answer to that is to take them to court over it - ditto bigger channels taking all the money from a smaller channel's video just for using a few seconds of their video in what is undeniably fair use. I've seen educational and scientific videos removed because publicly available and easy to find experiments are deemed not suitable to be shown, or people making clothes or doing repaints of dolls made for children with NO anatomical features visible being demonetised as "inappropriate" or showing "nudity"... a DOLL. A Monster High doll designed for children that has moulded on underwear. I personally had a video (not monetised, I just post clips and fan stuff) removed by youtube for breaking the TOS for sexual content (despite passing two appeals before, despite being from a movie rated 15 and still being behind an 18+ adult content warning) while RU-vid itself rents out that exact movie, complete with the FULL scene which was several times longer than the clip I posted and which was clearly fake, OTT and comedic. The third time, when I appealed, they rejected the appeal in less than a minute. There was no way they could have read my appeal and watched the video. It was impossible. The result - a 6-month strike warning on my channel despite the fact that they had twice before said there was nothing wrong with the video. That kind of arbitrary response and with no way for a person to actually contact anyone to talk to them is just infuriating, and it's crippling a lot of creators. Their recent run-in with the FTC will no doubt effectively end the ability of even more swathes of channels to monetise too. On the other hand though, you can show cruel, tasteless, bullying and "pranks" including hitting your kids and abusing them badly enough to be prosecuted for child abuse, you can create videos showing a "fake" miscarriage complete with blood, or pretending to defecate in the bed and on your partner, you can say racist, homophobic, ableists, transphobic slurs and still have your videos stay up for weeks, months or years despite reports, you can post clearly fake and often dangerous "hacks" that in reality could cause serious harm to the children they're aimed at. Go figure...

@@JustAnotherBuckyLover RU-vid is owned by Google a corporation that is very-nearly a monopoly. It isn't technically but it might as well be. Facebook is the same way. So is Twitter. We are living in a new Guilded Age. It is time to break up these new monopolies. In this divisive age that we live in, this is a rare issue that could get bipartisan support. This meant as a viewer I was watching for dual purposes (entertainment and genuine philosophy) and had to carefully sift through what I was watching. The issue is, a lot of people see one truth or something at least meaningful and relevant, then gobble up all the garbage coming along with it. It’s sneaky, and a lot of weirdo channels do it.

Hi Telltale . I was a part of the Teal Swan cult as well. While I wasn’t part of the “intentional community”, I was in the circle just outside of that. I would travel to different states to volunteer at her workshops. I spent time with her outside of them. I became a Completion Process practitioner and because of this I was invited to volunteer at a small group workshop she held just before she moved to Costa Rica. I was called onstage at 5 of the 7 workshops I attended.. I have a ton of experience with her. And without going into the details on this comment , Teal nearly destroyed me… if you would like to talk about it, I’m willing. I’m not certain how to communicate on RU-vid other than through comments but if this is something you’re interested in, I’m sure we will figure it out. When I stepped away from the cult, I stumbled onto your channel and watched your videos on Teal and they really helped me. My hope is that I can do the same for someone else.

the thing about Teal is that she'll take the most basic of concepts, and say it to the people who listen, ergo, they believe that she IS a guru for repeating what others have already come up with, or concepts that are already similar but with her own slight twist. It's a real dangerous game, and I hate to admit that i'm slowly watching a sibling get sucked into this.

manoo205 Oh there are definitely themes these people use. For example, the idea of Shadow Work is pretty prevalent in corners of the Pagan community, too, from what I’ve seen, and wouldn’t be surprised if Teal picked it up from there. But the process of rooting out repressed memories to achieve completeness sounds much more specifically like Scientology’s going clear process. But it’s been some 15+ years since I read Dianetics, and I haven’t read Teal’s book, so it still might be surface similarities. It’s striking because it suggests a possible correlation of cult leaders implanting false memories in their followers.

Thank you for covering this subject. As an ex member of a destructive cult, I have been very concerned about Teal Swan. (I'm retired now, but I used to work in this field, have worked with Stephen Hassan many years ago, & I also used to run a refuge for escapees from high-control cults). The moment I laid eyes on Teal Swan on RU-vid, the warning bells went off. She wasn't saying anything particularly 'destructive-sounding' in these videos, it was just her whole demeanor - the demeanor of a malignant narcissist - which is what cult leaders always are. In fact cult leaders like Teal usually have a cluster of mental and personality disorders. I would bet she probably has a similar Cluster B personality profile as Amber Heard. - Borderline + Histrionic + Narcissistic Personality Disorders. That particular personality pattern is the profile of pathological liars, consummate con artists, televangelists, politicians & cult leaders - i.e. charming, magnetic sociopaths who use their charm & attractiveness to create a grandiose 'facade persona' & are able to pull it off, as well as to lie to the entire world continuously for personal gain.

You are demonising and stigmatising mental health and spouting ridiculous misogyny. No one worth their weight in salt wants HPD to remain in the DSM and BPD is often misdiagnosed CPTSD in women. Agree completely. The dude in the video just seems to have trouble 'finding his place' jumping from religion to spirituality to atheism... looking for something he's not finding and blaming those who couldn't help him fill the void. He watches a documentary on cults & bam... she's a cult leader. I noticed he spoke a lot about things he's not qualified to speak about. That in itself is irresponsible, reckless & damaging. In any group of people that reaches into the hundreds of thousands your bound to have a few commit suicide at some point because sadly it's a fact of life. It doesn't mean the group is responsible. Just from skimming a few comment sections, she's dramatically improved the lives of many and they show immense gratitude. I'm not part of her 'group' nor do I know much about her. I've watched a few videos that were great, so when I saw this pop up I thought I better watch... but by the end I feel it's the two guys that seem to have the real agenda here. Also, SRA is real and it's awful, yet so many people refuse to accept that it even exists... and this isn't helping. Dismissing someone's claims of abuse is a serious thing that only hurts the victims of abuse in the end. This is a video presented as fact yet filled with a bunch of opinions by two guys that are not qualified to be speaking on the topic to begin with. Talk about dangerous. And regarding the followers calling him a 'hater' and rushing to defend her on the videos about her... welcome to you tube. That's what you tube followers do. For anyone their following. That's not her fault. They do this even when asked not to across every type of group on here. If you're going to bash someone that is loved by so many, you should expect it. It's a you tube thing and not a Teal Swan thing.

I was into some new age stuff a few years back. A classmate introduced me to it. I was mainly into ralph smart. He isn't too bad. But he was doing some collaboration with teal swan, and I checked her out. To be honest, she never sat right with me. She spoke like a robot, occationally said some bizzare things and came off as utterly cold. It scared me how serious she was and the gravity of the things she said, so I actively avoided her vids. The time when I just discovered this new age stuff was an amazing time for me. I felt like I had more confidence and trust in my own ability to build a life. Everything was going my way. But it eventually lead to dark places. The emphasis on "healing" youself makes you actively identify faults in yourself -all.the.time. I became obsessed with how I wasn't functioning right. I started to think I wasn't trying hard enough. Not believing enough. All the self help just made it worse because it forces you to identify dysfunction. I was supposed to love myself, but knowing about all of my cowardice, bitterness and jealousy (which we all have) I found that impossible. And I blamed myself for not being able to. Still moving on from it. Jordan Peterson was my way out. He framed mystical thinking in a psychological perspective, and also was so endlessly understanding and forgiving of how hard life is. How much people actually struggle and how amazing it is when we can master even the smallest of things. I became more forgiving. The new age shit sure had its positive sides, but it can also lead to dark places. Be very careful what you feed your mind.

@@gaiaswildchildtarot who hates whom now.?? 😆 Exposing a lie as a lie is *NOT* tantamount to extreme loathing for the person lying. That logical phallacy is what mainstream forms of media have drilled into society to be considered as fact, just like the term "conspiracy theorist" was strategically coined by the intelligence community run news corporations after public outcry over Kennedy's "magic bullet, lone gunman" officially proposed narrative caused people to question authority. The world is run by the enemy of mankind, sitting at the top of the global hierarchy, which has driven history for generations. For instance, the world wars are a setup designed to instigate global government in stages. Albert Pike is an obvious person to point to, but there is far more than just his writings to back up the validity of a hidden society running world events. Research Freemasonry and Kabbalah: 1) Most new age philosophy has connections to kabbalah and gematria. 2) tarot, astrology, numerology all are inherently linked with the sephirot and gematria used in Kabbalah. 3) Kabbalah is the main system of reference in the Masonic orders. 4) individuals known to have been part of said secret societies throughout history have been major participants in global affairs. (US founding fathers, U.N. founding and the Balfor declaration.. etc.) 5) the intelligence community in the US also designed the counterculture movement in the 60's-70's which influenced and led society to the neo-feminism, hippie culture, and new age spiritualism worldview cults of today. In conclusion: believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. (The creation of deep fakes has made that older saying a little dated, but you catch my drift. 😆) It's a complex mess, trying to figure out the real basis for reality and the meaning of/or true logos within existence. Always keep expanding fields of reference in study or contemplation, and stay open minded. once a person has deemed just one idea as above all others, is when one actually has closed the mind and rejects all possibility of error inherent in whatever system they venerate at that time. Godspeed, and remember... I don't hate anyone for existing, I only hate what is detrimental to us all and I simply wish to stop those willing to cause violence upon their fellow human beings. "Love thy neighbor" comes to mind, and those who hurt their neighbors should be generally shunned or made incapable of affecting the innocent negatively any further by those capable of fair treatment and physical ability to do so. That is supposedly what the public's servants, i.e. the "government workers / police force" are around for.... But what are they really up to? 🤔

God has revealed me that Yeshua/ Christ who was so far the greatest man who walked this earth was and is the purest the most close form and example to what us should follow, not in religious way, but his way is the truth, the way and because he taugh equality, not superiority, he knew who he was yet he bowed down at the front of human kind showing that we all are equal and all are children of God. I am into spirituality, however Teal was never particularly appealing to me, because she talks as if she got it all figured out, but deep down she seems extremely depressed and traumatized. Why would I take spiritual advice from someone who is deeply biased and negative? She has convictions of her own that she is selling as universal truth, and it's fairly easy to see that. She is encouraging people to quit their relationships as well, not only suicide. I feel these topics should stay in her mind, and not shared with vulnerable individuals. And she does seem to be a narcissist. I grew up next to one, so I can see the similarities. A depressed narcissist. She sounds like she's given up on the world due to trauma, and she did confirm that spirituality prevented her from suicide.

Great comment. I fully respect people's different belief sytems, but DOO wanna just ahem say that I am a working psychic medium, and the afterlife is as real and as natural as a wild animal's shit. And most of "us" woowoo healer types are not douchey narcissists with a Jesus complex. We swear like sailors, have darkness of our own, and don't parade around pretending we have all the answers. Thanks for this great interview! Will be checking out Andey's "Teal Swan's Ex Boyfriend Speaks Out" interview next!🌹🌌⭐️🐞🐞🐞

Not a Teal supporter, but I did find some of her advice useful in my personal experience. I never really delved in to the psychic stuff, but her advice has helped me to overcome and cope with my panic attacks to the point that I didn't have to rely on medications anymore. I try to keep an open mind, but she often validates pseudoscience and lacks tact with sensitive subjects (i.e. suicide and shadow work), and it's problematic because someone already in rock bottom can take her teachings literally and hurt themselves. When you or a loved one is in a really bad place, it's easy to buy into snake oil, but it's so much better to stay grounded and realistic.

Hey, and for any of y'all who want legitimate spiritual philosophy (i.e. the "spiritual but not religious" types)...just try Alan Watts, for God's sake. I just watched a 2020 prediction video made by her. Aside it being vague, not actually predicting anything concrete, anything which can not be later "interpreted" as having been occurred, what caught my attention is her claim of being in some kind of know about "what the universe wants". Now, this alone is amazing, besides the insinuation that the universe somehow "wants" things, which is an outlandish claim in and of itself, to claim that you are in some special communion, that you are specially privy to what the universe supposedly wants - something which of course is unverifiable by anyone else - is so patently absurd, that I can't believe people simply accept such a claim without any demands for any independently verifiable evidence for it. I guess things like this simply appeal to people who already believe that the universe is a living entity with a will and other patently absurd "spiritual" notions. That being said, I do somewhat agree with her that psychiatry is itself a borderline pseudo-science - not for the same reasons though, look up academic anti-psychiatry if curious - for its more than a century's worth of history none of its proposed illness etiologies ever penned out empirically, there are still no proven discreet biomarkers for most of its proposed "mental illnesses", despite its recurring claims of "chemical imbalances" being the causal factor. It is in severe conflict with several psychological theories about human distress and it also has to contend with competing theories based on sociology, anthropology and academic philosophy. It tends to falsely pathologize and medicalize a broad range of normal but rare human experiences, ethical deviances and problems in living caused by socio-economical injustices or misfortunes, or even justified personal, existential conundrums. It claims exclusive expertise to medical authority without any bio-medical science backing it up, and it tends to blame many people suffering from objective socio-economically caused distress-conditions as having an organic brain disease, rather than suffering distress and reacting emotionally to objectively shitty life situations without having any actual brain-disorder. And on top of this, it is the only medical profession working together with the state and having the ability to imprison persons against their will and force them to undergo treatments against their will. I could go on forever on this subject, but suffice it to say, that when it comes to legitimate outside-field criticizing of seemingly accepted and established doctrines/theories, even aspects or elements of authoritative scientific fields, many self-proclaimed skeptics act like pitiful sycophants, uncritically obeying whatever the most mainstream opinion of the most mainstream of consensuses seem to imply. This surrendering up of intellectual freedom, this slavish delegating out of the final say to supposed experts, without even considering criticisms from equally established other fields of study which are less directly accepted authorities on a given issue, is in my view not only unfortunate, not in line with the necessity of actual critical thinking, but also socially dangerous for our freedoms and well-being and also dangerous to the free pursuit of knowledge and the freedom of speech.

I think that there is a dangerous assumption in not questioning things such as those that have qualifications to talk about Psychology, Mental Illness, Suicide, etc... I would have appreciated if this video pointed out the converse of the stated argument that these same professionals will promote certain ideas/medications for any number of reasons (money) whether or not they actually work. Teal’s work, while I do not agree with all parts of it as I view everything brought to me through a critical lens, has helped in my personal processing of traumas. I have “ran the gambit” with medications and tried to find a solution with “the pill” for my depression that big Pharma promises you to no avail. I can see both sides of this argument, truly, but I think it’s very risky to make claims that she is a “cult leader” which elicits thoughts of the past with heaven’s gate and other such actual cults. She’s not killing people, and by saying “this many subscribers committed suicide” is like saying to someone like me who has lost friends to this awful act that I am somehow responsible for their death. I feel that a lot of people will just see this video as more fear mongering and placing blame instead of providing explicit examples in her words to counter them logically instead of making nebulous statements and paraphrasing. I also think it’s quite funny that this video’s argument pivots so much on the idea that she is “unqualified to talk about these things” when neither of you have those qualifications either and even said in the video that “yeah, I have taken -some- psychology classes.” This video is also making the claim in regards to mental health / illness that personal testimonies hold no value if you do not have a qualifications and therefore cannot talk about it. Again, I wish this was an actual interview with her or at least pulling from her videos directly instead of the good ole’ boys mentality and ganging up against someone which doesn’t give me too much faith in the claims made therein. Oh, and the act of trying to sell me something at the end of the video for a quick buck whereas in multiple of teal’s videos she simply says “have a good week” and ends it off not asking directly for support on Patreon or to “buy her merch!” Lol. People, please think critically for yourselves and see the basic fact that whether you believe one side of this argument or the other that there are always cracks in the façade they’re presenting to you. Have a nice week.

I also believe she is a narcissist, from the little I have seen. Her response to being called out, for example, was ego based. I watched her gaslight a man who had the nerve to question her. She is arrogant AF. I believe she sees herself as a supreme being who towers over the rest of us. However, I also find a lot of truth in the snippets I've watched so far in regards to shadow work and the law of attraction. I plan to look further into her. I'm quite curious. As for questioning whether or not she has a right to speak her truth and help people in the way she sees fit, our society sets too much stock in degrees. I say this as a general rule, not just concerning Teal. I trust personal experience far more than book smarts. So long as the experience is followed by personal work, and the healing is apparent, I have no quarrels. I believe Teal still has a longs way to go in her healing journey, just like the rest of us. That doesn't mean she doesn't have value, even if she behaves like a jealous God at times.

When you watch her, a very pretty woman who speaks with conviction who gives this feeling of “this woman is special and has it all figured out” but when you run a video and just listen without watching her speak the narcissism is so evident. The video I’m speaking of is her speaking on the allegations that she’s a fraud. She absolutely has similarities to the Nexium cult leader when it comes to narcissism and the self proclaimed specialness cult leaders exhibit.

This was interesting! I watch Teal once in a while and I follow her instagram but I am not fully involved in this group and I myself didn’t recognize this as a cult. After my family and I left the JWs, I went was very determined to be an atheist as I feel most Ex JWs are, but I went through a massive spiritual awakening this last year and vowed to not be a member of any sort of religious cult ever again. I take a lot of what Teal says in stride along side my own personal beliefs but the whole purpose of free spirituality is to incorporate whatever YOU believe into your own practice. If Teal is preaching these sorts of philosophies, then her cult followers don’t fully grasp the point of true spirituality and are feeding into the control this group has over them. Allow people to be in control of their own thoughts and let those come and go as they please. Not everyone has to believe everything you do, not matter what group or how right you think you are. Thank you TellTale! I love seeing my two new worlds(Ex JW and New Age Spirituality) collide.

How strange. Pardon me for not remembering which video Teal said it in, but she did say something very much akin to what you said here, quoting you: "I take a lot of what Teal says in stride along side my own personal beliefs but the whole purpose of free spirituality is to incorporate whatever YOU believe into your own practice." And I might be wrong, maybe she didn't say that. But I strongly think like you do on that account. Yet, I've felt the benefit of Teal's words of advice quite acutely in my life. I do agree that she can seem detached from some of the things she says, maybe she lacks life-experience regarding some things she says, and... while I don't really like it when people lack the life-experience regarding something they preach as a teaching they want others to reap benefit from, I'm not gonna hold it against her. I only wish she'd learn that if she hasn't. And nothing can eradicate the fact that the things she said, were very useful for me in my process of living a more satisfying, happy and all-round good life, with my condition. I'm grateful that people are skeptical and critical of her teachings, so we get different views on those things. But I wish they would address more the message instead of the messenger.

I came here after watching the documentary about Teal. Now knowing who her childhood therapist was, the false memory scene in the doc makes so much more sense. With my PTSD I have trouble remembering some traumatic details. There are things that I know for a fact happened because there were witnesses, evidence, and/or legal documentation, but I have no conscious memory of it (doesn't mean it can't affect you though). Not being able to remember parts of the trauma is pretty normal and that symptom is considered in a PTSD evaluation. I see a specialist for my therapy. One of the most helpful things my therapist ever told me was to not go "memory hunting." It's way too easy to plant false memories, even if you memory hunt on your own. If you're going to remember something you repressed then it'll come up naturally. Anyone trying to say they can recover your memories for you is at best accidentally harming your mental health, and at worst trying to scam you (your safety be dam*ed). That's horrible that Teal was scammed into it as a kid and now pulls other vulnerable people into that brand of woo. Kinda gives some insight into why she is the kind of person she is today.

Telltale, i am disgusted I have heard many thigns on this channel - people being brainwashed by scientology since childhood , same with jehowas witnesses, they had enourmous punishements for leaving the cult (loosing their friends and family, having organized attacks on them as we heard from people that left scientology or witnesses) and you compare these terrible things with: 4 people (out of too many) commited suicide, and one guy after leaving had hate thru the internet against him by the members ? propably not organized at all, just few angry people I was listening to this video for half hour, since start hearing how Teal is a cult but not saying once why it should be a cult, not having any discussion if its cult or not, yet patiently hearing and nothing... teal swan videos have 50 000 -100 000 views per video, she releases them for years and releases videos often. Suicide is one of the main causes of death , yet you expect that from so many viewers (also with depressive audience, who are looking for ways to solve their depression, anxiety etc) not single one will commit suicide ? It isnt even known if cause of the suicide was Teal, or if they alreayy were suicidal and would do it if they dont see Teal video either and i dont want to imagine thru what kinds of attacks person who leaves scientology for example goes thru. If you leave Teal ,,cult" it has no consequences, yet of course you can always find some angry people on the internet - it is internet afterall , the bigger communtity is (ANY community) the higher chance to find some angry / aggresive people so i wouldnt say it is fair at all to compare, is empty claims compared to real cults

Sorry, ex member here, yes, there's punishment when you disagree with her, I've been witness of so many insults and berating of people when they don't think the way they want it. This is a cult for many different reasons, being the number one, that everything happen around a personality that is seen as an enlightened being that nobody should question and everybody should adore. She claims she knows "sources perspective" and nobody else does (she even had a very unfortunate discussion with one of her ex husbands where she used that against his point of view as a way to win the argument) When the suicides occurred she didn't even cared say anything about it, believe me, I was there and she acted as if anything had happened, is curious from someone who says that her followers and her are part of each other. I know people who had left their home and their life to live with her and at the end they left disappointed and hurt because they discovered who she really was, one of this individuals literally disappeared from the internet because they could not bear the amount of harassment they where receiving. They have disappeared videos with her outlandish claims like being an arcturian soulfork and being designed by a panel of aliens to be beautiful for all the races so that her message would be received. She has also stolen content from different sources and used it has hers. Her techniques are questionable and seed false memories in people which makes him go through trauma using the influence that her position as a "spiritual leader" gives her. She is extremely cold to the repercutions of her actions, in one of her talks when someone started telling her about losing someone to suicide she said "Just in time for my new topic" instead of recognizing the pain of who was trying to tell her their story. If you want to know how she fits on the BITE model and why it is a cult there are tons on info out there. She basically said that Suicide is a reset button. In her site she said things like "suicide will always be an option" "suicide will always be there for you" and perhaps her purpose was take the mind of the person away from it for a minute, but she should be much more careful than that because there's a lot of people that go through mental illness in her following, she is not qualified. And if 4 people death are not important enough to consider this a dangerous cult, you should look at the empty places they left in their houses with their families, they could be alive, they could be here if only they went to the hospital and not to her to seek for advice and found the "reset button" in a desperate moment. I think Telltale did an amazing job in this introduction to the cult, I was there in 2012 and I saw how it become this and how many people was damaged by it.

@@Hanakow Thank you. He tries defending her! It's definitely a cult. I was watching a few of her videos and she almost had me!! 🌈🐻🏳️‍🌈🌈🐻🏳️‍🌈🌈🐻🏳️‍🌈

@@bearnunnemaker5453 I can't blame you, I didn't realized I was on a cult until like a year later, I though it was only a group of discussion of her videos and other new agey topics and then I noticed people behaved very weird and where very freaky about dreaming of her and started getting tatoos identical to the one she has and suicides started happening (One of them was one of my Facebook contacts) I ran away as fast as I could.

Oh shit someone actually watched Spiritscience unironically and managed to wing a functioning cult out of it? That's hilarious Jordan used to be a newgrounder you know, its weird around 2010 he seemed to lose it before that he was just a normalish nerd.

@@TheKnizzine yeah, I was shocked to find out. There was a phone call recording in a blog post that was definitely his voice where he admitted she "said no a million times" and that he "asked a million times" until she said yes while crying, and he removed her clothing all while she was shocked and kept saying no. He forced her to take the blog posts down because in the specific state the incident happened in, coercion didn't count. But she did try to get him for it, and in many other states coerced sexual encounter is rape (bc there is the lack of consent). They travelled together and he was this "spiritually knowledgable" guy with a following. Anyway he got away with it. He made some blog posts and video responses to the situation I think he said a lot that he "was overcome with boyish lust and her immense beauty" or something absurd like that. It's pretty awful.

@@greedfox7842 if someone says no and you do it anyway, that's rape. A lot of times someone will threaten to fire you (if they're you're work superior) or leave you stranded (if you're travelling with them) if you don't have sex with them. If you don't want sex and someone puts you in a situation where you can't say no, that's rape. But you clearly don't know what nuance is.

I'm so happy to have never heard of Teal before tonight. I actually thought The Deep End was going to be a cool, fictional thriller about a cult-leader. This was a great addendum. Thanks, Andey.

Someone did a podcast with a former roommate of Teal. I can't for the life of me remember her name or I'd link it. Definitely worth hunting down, though. Teal is just as much of manipulative mess behind the scenes.
