The team attacks lair Vandal Savage | Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay 

I like how people don't see vandal's point. We literally have someone here that constantly travels through time showing how crazy some powers get. So he's legitimately worried that someone can be born or created with the ability to kill him. Yeah he's immortal but he's only had to worry about swords, arrows and bullets in his past. Not people that can bend reality at a whim. And let's not even forget how wild magic can get.

Vandal Savage in Young Justice: Is the first meta human and all of earths meta humans are his direct descendants. He deliberately spread the meta gene to empower earths population, and is now kidnapping his descendants and deploying them as weapons of mass destruction across the galaxy. He's is a major intergalactic player, even Darkside respects him. Vandal Save in Suicide Squad: METAS ARE SCAWY!

Everytime I see Harley with her bat, I just think "Why did Waller even put her on this team?"

You know, it would’ve been super easy to have Vandal Savage in this movie without nerfing him. In the comics, he’s immortal as long as there’s still something left of him, meaning he would need to be fully atomized in order to die. Unfortunately for him, there are a multitude of enhanced individuals with the ability to do so(Superman’s heat vision, Captain Atom’s radiation beams, Firestorm’s nuclear blasts, etc.), which he even SAYS is the reason he needs the card! So yeah, this whole plot element was pointless.

Vandal Savage in this Movie: *”I’m immortal, not invulnerable.”* Vandal Savage from pretty much every TV Show/Comic Book: *”Well, actually-“*

What is this? Vandal Savage has the healing factor of Wolverine and is basically immortal. The only way to kill him would be some sort of explosion that would disintegrate all his atoms.

It's like writers can't decide how Vandal Savages powers work. I've seen versions where he can live for ever but can be killed like any normal man and I've seen versions like in Justice League where the structure he was in was shot by a space based rail gun and collapsed on him and his body just healed in moments from the mangled mess it was.

The worst depiction of Vandal Savage ever. He’s right that he’s immortal and isn’t invulnerable meaning he can be killed, but even when he “dies,” he just revives himself. His death here is stupid as it both undermines the character and his purpose, makes him look like a guy who is scared of death, and downgrades his immortality. Basically he’s like Doomsday, except with a reverse in powers in a way. Both can die and revive themselves. Doomsday adapts to how he died so he can’t be killed that way again, while Vandal Savage carries the scars of his deaths and presumably learns from his numerous deaths so that he can better equip himself for the situation if it calls for it. This is the guy who can outwit the entire Justice League, and he gets taken out by a bunch of B rate criminals?! Seriously, this is like the Suicide Squad love action movie, where the squad goes against Enchantress, and somehow win. It’s blatantly stupid, and yet somebody thought this was a good idea! It’s like Darkseid getting killed by a simple man with a gun.

JLA Vandal Savage is the best version I've seen. That guy survived a castle collapsing on him and was still able to re-assemble after getting every bone in his body broken.

It's sad. The villians can easily kill each other but have a hard time killing the good guys. Too much plot armor on their end.

Thinking about this, it was a terrible plan. Sure, it is "hard" to get the card out without killing him. But there are tons of weird powers in this setting. And many of the ones that can get the card out cleanly are the weird supernatural powers... which is the exact crowd that would be the most likely to believe in the card and seek it out.

Dang, they downgraded Vandal’s character powers from being immortal and invulnerable, to just being ageless and experienced. Not surprised though, when it comes to movies, I always prepare myself with disappointment or just expect the movies to not follow all or any of the comic book source material.

I believe only Justice League animated series has truly showed us what awesome healing factor Savage really has.

What is the issue people have with this? It makes sense. He can only be killed if fully destroyed, but there are plenty of meta humans emerging with the ability to do such. Him wanting a bit of insurance makes sense.

I think they should've used Black Mask or someone else for this. Vandal is more immortal that Rhaz, basically. There's no real reason for him to get a the card since his chances of dying are slim to none.

So, this crack team of expert criminals decides to break into this place and as soon as they get to the front door the team's leader asks *"Do you see a way to get inside?"*

I think immortals have limits in someways. I mean yes they downgrade one of true immortals in fictional world ever but I think the more damage you take, the more it's more permanent and weaken. then again that wouldn't make any sense but still. and metahumans defy the laws of physics as well, so the abilities they have would do more damage to a pre-historic immortal. aliens and even magical beings would also be troublesome

On one hand: This isn't the live-action Suicide Squad movie. That's a merit all on its own. They could have screwed up in all the same ways very, very easily. But they didn't. I applaud them for that. On the other hand: They totally nerfed Vandal Savage. And I will _never_ forgive what they did to Thawne...

Okay, I gotta throw this out there. Why the hell would anyone in their right mind tell the hired mercs that what they're looking for is in your chest? Vandal could have easily fought them without saying this win or lose and still very likely have the damn card. I know it was for the sake of the plot, but jesus fuck man, this definitely a runner up behind Reed Richards telling Wanda how to kill Black Bolt.
