That is the most constructive and informative response that I have had yet! Thank you, and I'm going to get back and try all of your above mentioned suggestions. But I have to be ready for the possibility of more frustration. @MikeSenn64 ps use 0000 steal wool and wrap the engine brush with it. This will make a tight fit in the Tec 9s large chamber. With the extension hooked to the brush and drill, give the drill full power and repeat until the chamber is smooth. I use flitz polish afterward and use a shotgun mop on my drill to top her off. I promise this will fix your issues with your pistol. Also works on AA Arms AP9s as well.

@@Jorge-hj2tp Great advice. I always found the chamber area were rough and gritty so once you polish things these little guns run like a top. My Tec 9 was bad for not ejecting so I found some repair parts at Numrich My DC 9 was darn near new and it ran fine. The trick is keep them clean and they will run.

I used 115 grain ammo in all the mags. The next time that I feel the nee to frustrate myself, I will try it again with 124 gr. I ordered some parts, namely the cocking knob that broke off while making the video. Numrich has some avail. Same with Gunbroker. TEC 9s, they make wicked cool looking paper weights.

Closest thing I’ve found was the CMMG Banshee, and it takes Glock mags

124 gr seems to run better. Also runs better with a silencer on it. The threads are the same as a 9mm MAC 10. My first MAC 10 purchase came with a thread adapter that allowed the common 1/2" x 28 silencer attachment. It makes it long enough to pass the shroud. Over a decade ago I searched for a barrel extension with the same threads and I think I found it at www.usmachinegun.com/products.php?cat=15 . I recently had some specialty threads made, but can't find any receipts of emails to find the manufacturer again.

I have no idea. I searched around a little but came up empty handed. If you look around enough, you may come across at least when different models came out.

Mine works flawlessly. I've even bump fired it with no stoppages

At one point, this magazine was one of the magazines used as evidence to show how easily the original TEC-9 open bolt could be converted...according to the description on Gun Broker when I bid on it.

I had a tec dc 9 in stainless it was a flawless weapon only changed fire the firing pin once.

That's about all it's good for. You bought it for the right reason and it's doing it's job.

I stored the mags that seem to work most of the time in all of the guns in a separate container. Then the mags that work better with specific guns stored with those guns. And all of the TEC 9s are in a special safe that is marked "These Guns Suck". It's an M10 shirt. Now those babies run well! I guess I should do an M10 video...because I have all 4 up and running really well.

check the ammo and see if you're getting a light primer strike, the semi auto tec's are a striker fire type design... if you're getting light primer strikes, try cleaning the striker channel and firing pin, if you're not getting any indention on the primer, then you've probably got a broke firing pin

I'll have a look. I bet a lot of the earlier ones do. Not a lot of physical changes to the design when it changed hands from Interdynmics to Intratec.

No, dry firing this should definitely not have done any harm to it. Check to make sure the cocking knob moves in and out. It's a safety mechanism. If it is is the wrong position, it locks the bolt.

Yes, the charging handle breaking off and flying into my face was unexpected. But hat re-enforces the need for safety glasses while shooting!

@@MikeSenn64 That sure does reinforce the need for safety glasses. Not fun when a piece of metal hits you and I would know that because I have had metal BBs hit me when shooting cans in my backyard with an airgun.

These things need to be cleaned, well oiled and have the right magazines. They are also finicky on ammo. Very frustrating!

​@@MikeSenn64 there is a list of ammo in the Manuel that they reccomend using in the gun. It should only shoot 115s as well.

Because the bolt is so heavy and the spring very strong, 124 grain would probably run more reliably. I plan on doing my next TEC-9 video with all 124 grain ammo.

You'd have to check you local laws/ordinances. Which may be difficult to wade through. Ask your local gun range if they allow you to shoot it there. They may not, and it may be their own choice, or, they most likely are well versed in what is and is not legal there.

If you clean it and use the right ammo it'll work fine.

The ATF claimed that they were too easy to make full auto, as was the MAC10 open bolt designs. If it works well as originally intended, you've got a nice collectable.

@@MikeSenn64 At the same time I bought one of the open bolt semi RPB M11/380’s. Both are super easy to convert but have not been of course. I was living in Illinois at the time and it was the closest I could come to a Machinegun. The KG-9 actually is reliable.

I have just as many Glocks. 9 & 10mms. Now THOSE are reliable. Even under water.

Very few suppressed guns are "silent" as the bullet breaking the sound barrier will make a crack. You have to use subsonic loads to get any sort of quiet weapon. .45 and .22 are primo examples of good suppressed calibers.

@@vividfiber6668 Dont give me that Dumb ,New Age" Im smarter than the person who invented it" talk. That term comes from how the enemy perceives the weapon in a fighting situation. THATS IT! No reason to psycho analyze it. When you are in a conflict your more likely to say your enemy is using quiet aka silent weapons in order to kill. Because accuracy is the most important thing right,especially in life or death situations like Gun Battles. Well to use your term "suppressed" the enemy doesn't care about that plus if the gun is suppressed enough then its still practically silent to everyone else hence the term SILENCER...man those old school guys weren't so wrong after all.
