Make sure to click settinigs and watch in HD. We had problems with our SD cards and had to record this video in 1080p instead of 4K. My Apologies. Im working on a fix for the next video. RU-vid also Compresses the quality of 1080p videos. Thanks for Understanding!

Dude, what a great video!!! Man, they were killing it that day, eh? I snagged a big one over near Helen, GA the other day. 3 pounder that was a left over from Opening Day Tournament cause it had a tag on it. I was tempted to filet that dude but I let it go so some kid could catch it. Your vids are always great, Matt. Enjoy the heck out of them.

Went up there 2 weeks ago and had about 40 all between 12-15 inches and finished the day on my last cast caught a 25 inch rainbow

What were the water temperatures like those days? I would think the lower stretches of the Tellico ought to be avoided during July and August most years now. If you go trout fishing in the day, during the dog days of summer, on a bigger trout stream, and you start catching a lot of fish, it’s actually a pretty good indication that the fish are stressed as that isn’t typical feeding activity for summer.

We fished from green cove up to the state line. Anything below that wasn’t to great. I think the water temps were in the lower 60s. But I haven’t been up in a month or so. So I couldn’t tell you how it is right now. I avoid trout fishing during the warmer months of summer. ( Thus why I haven’t made a video) But fall is right around the corner!!

Do you mind sharing what you were using to catch these? Maybe some example flies as well? Also I am guessing it was a bit of a drive since River Rd is still closed and you said in another comment you had the best success way out by Green Cove Motel?

Google the blowtorch. You’ll see some photos. The pole I used was chads ( fetch a fly ) first time I’ve ever used it. I’m probably gonna get me one

How can you tell a trout fish is wild or stocked? Which fins would be altered if stocked?

Wilds will have all their fins. Sometimes stocked trout will have one or more of their fins clipped, or rubbed off from the hatchery tank. Wild rainbows don’t get that big on the Tellico. Maybe 7-10 inches. So the wilds will usually be smaller. Sometimes it’s just really hard to tell lol
