we're learning this in my band class, my friend who plays clarinet says it's boring for them, I don't blame him, I saw his music and more than half the notes were filled with a's. but thanks for the total amount of notes, i'll tell him for no reason at all :D
Clarinets: A A A A A A A A A Trombone: G G G G G G G G Flute: *bReAtHeS hEaViLy* Sax: HOLD MY BEER Edit: Thanks for 200+ musicians wish you all the best for your next concerts 😁
I love this piece but I played the clarinet in school orchestra so..... A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A
This song be like: A a. A a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a aa a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a and of course A
This is how my beginning band played this music Flutes:*D E E P breath* Oboes: DEAR LORD, HOW MUCH LONGER DO I HAVE TO WAIT?? Clarinets: A x ♾ Trumpets:*loud noises* Percussion’s tempo: 📈📉📈📉📈📉
Friend actually my teachers teacher know Robert W. Smith. Smith wrote this song because he was stuck in a snow storm is what my teacher said to me hope this helps.
I memorized the flute part. G A B A B G, G A B C B A G A B A B G, G A B C B A..... repeat a lot of times AND I MEMORIZED THE CLARINET PART! A a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a
18 measures with the same scale, no rests or breaths. Literally two measures for respite. Then more measures with the same scale with practically no breaths. That's flute for you.
EnchantedCutie I wish I could do snare. We only had two percussionist in my class so I was on suspended cymbals, tambourine, and wind chimes. The other percussionist did..bass, snare, and triangle?
Thats so cool! I’m in 8th grade and playing flute, and we’re playing it for concert band now. It’s a little hard to play once you first learn it, but it’s such a fun song
Oh god I remember playing this... Our clarinets failed miserably and we had to stop in the middle of the concert.... Now we could play it no problem lol
I laugh at people saying it's a "middle school piece". It's a beginning band piece, there is no age or school level pinned to it, it's skill level. There's a difference 😂
DokuArt watch what your thoughts and don't let your skill go to your head. Stay humble because people will think you're great and you have to act like you aren't great; that is what makes the musician.
Why’s everyone complaining about flutes? You know trumpet has the EXACT same part right? We’re struggling as much as you are. Give the trumpet some respect.
@Jarrett Usui well the flute is naturally high instrument while the trumpets more medium (dont really know how to explain it :P) it takes more effort to get the higher notes on the trumpet than the flute.
@@applesunshiners you do have a point, i dont really know much about flute besides what my friend told me, so correct me if im wrong. I'm pretty sure the trumpets may not have many keys, but they have a much wider range of notes than the flutes. What i mean is that one valve can make like, 7 notes, and not to mention the notes that require 2 valves or 3.
I'm a flute in the school band and there's only 4 flutes well 12 clarinets, 14 trumpets 4 trim ones and 2 Tubas so the flutes get drowned out pretty quickly
Snowy and callie Vlogs omg I need your band in my school. I have 5-6 percussionists, 2 tubas, 2 baritones (euphonium), 5 trombones, 11-13 trumpets, 6 saxes, 1 tenor, 1 bari, 2 French horn, 3 flutes and 6 clarinets
I played clarinet when I played this in middle school and I still have flashbacks to this and how much the clarinets, trombones, and flutes DESPISED IT!! I still here it and my mouth still hurts a bit from it. I will never be the same again.
I was in 5th grade when my middle school band played this. I hated playing A’s for those measures, and the notes always swam together with me. So it pissed me off
You don't get those nostalgic chills from when you were in 5th grade if you don't hear it IRL. I listened to my little sister and her band play this and damn I got chilly.
I wish ppl would stop saying things like "clarinets have A for the whole time" or "it hurts my tongue playing A on clarinet" or "ugh, I hate the clarinet part" or "what's the point of playing A all the time?" Cuz there is a point to all the As the clarinets play (I play clarinet too) and clarinets DONT have A for the whole time. And your tongue shouldn't hurt if your embouchure is right. And it might not sound like it to you, but when all the colours of the song play together, the clarinet part really adds a nice flavour to the song. So appreciate it! It's also really special because the composer put the clarinet A part in to imitate a drum. I think that's pretty cool! Btw if your bored, find the difference of the emojis 😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😲😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵 There is a different one, believe me! P.S " The Tempest" is a really nice song 👍💕
everyone: *complaining about having the same note over and over, hard notes, not being able to breath* me, a percussionist: *......45-59, am i right?.....no?...ok..*
+Narwhal Potato I am debating on whether or not to play my alto sax or my cello for our full orchestra concert... lol I think I might do Alto Sax. Alto Sax for the WIN!!!
+David Combs (DavidPlaysMC) Man, as an alto sax player it pains me to say that Altos have no true place anywhere exept in a jazz band. I've been playing for 10 years btw
Clarinet: a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a
All instruments need emojis but not all will get them. Like Euphonium and baritone. You wouldnt be able to tell them apart from eah other of from a tuba emoji.
We played this song in seventh grade too.(It's one of our favourites) Then in eighth grade, we played a song called Into the Storm (i'm not sure if you've heard of it) but it's by the same composer and it's really similar to this one, but more complex. You should check it out! :)
***** we played it in December and we were sooo good! This is one of the best pieces out there right behind into the storm which is just a more advanced version if this.
I’m in 8th grade, I play flute, and my band played this for our winter concert, and we still play it when the teacher leaves the classroom. We play our Titan Tunes from marching band, and any song we like to play
I’m playing it in grade 9 too bc most of the people that came to my school didn’t have music during middle school, so we’re like beginners and I never had music in middle school and yeah
+anonymousespionage +Wendy Marvel I played this in grade 6 3 years ago, if you wanted to know about another place to add to your "identical music at different places" list Also, my band teacher retired the year I graduated ;-; He was the best, I don't know how the school will go on without him. So now my Band teacher and my Grade 5 teachers have retired after dealing with my grades for the last time
Played this during my first band concert in middle school in the clarinet section. My favorite and most memorable piece during those 3 years. Still remember the notes to this day xD
Villain Von Badguy I played the Great Locomotive Chase in 8th grade and it was almost as easy as this. The brass parts are the hard parts of that song. (I'm a flute)
Finding my old account and finding this masterpiece again. 5 years ago my band played this and as a trombone this was my favorite one we played for our concert
I'm playing at a concert today, and there are 7 flutes including me, and I think that we are the loudest one's, no lie. 1 like=1 less flute, 1 comment=1 less of the other instruments
