The Temptation in the Desert: the devil and his lies 

Greetings in Christ, Dear fr. Joseph , Amazing grace , flowing through your words that are calm, composed, well spaced and in a pace to make it understandable. I thank God for making us all, His worthless servants , instruments for His message that of inviting all to the heavenly banquet. My prayers for your good health and cheerful heart always in your work at the vineyard of God. I will remember you before our Lord in the blessed sacrament.

Father, your homily was an answer to prayer. For years, I have confessed staying up till 2-3am every night (to my detriment) while being "stuck" and **standing** in one spot for hours. Imagine my pain! It takes me 2 hours to wash my face and brush my teeth. I knew I was finding some kind of consolation in it, but multiple priests did not understand what I was going through or how to help me. It was an attack to keep me from finding consolation in God and spending time with Him. "Anything but God." You said the enemy will exploit your idleness. Thank You, Jesus!!! Now, I know what to confess and how to begin to combat this attack! Thank You, Jesus, for healing me through this holy, religious priest! May God bless you and be merciful to you! I will pray for you and offer my Communions for you all the days of my life.

The discussion of Mary and the Devil’s fear of her gave me chills. 37 year old cradle Catholic and I’ve never learned this. Maybe this is why when I pray the rosary daily I find it much easier to overcome temptation…Thank you!

Well spoken Fr. A.Joseph. Priest should be strengthen by looking at Jesus life, by not falling into temptation by the devil, they too should do the same when temptation come at them. May God bless you with health to continue his work.

Father, the temptations and the decadence of the evil deception came AFTER the baptism. What does AFTER mean? Why was it AFTER the baptism and not before? I would love to hear your response to these questions, this shall conclude your homily well, do you agree?

Jesus, the Son of Man, defeated Satan & his cohorts. The BVM, the New Eve, was anointed to crush the head of the devil in God's time (Gen 3:15). Fr. Joseph clearly explained this truth in clear fashion. Praise God for giving us Jesus, the new Adam and the BVM, the New Eve to restore our dominion over all of God's creation. We are praying that God will continue to shower Fr. Joseph Aytona and the Fathers of Mercy community with His blessings and, in the process, preach God's truth to His people!
