The Terraces performing Complete Control, a tribute to The Clash and Joe Strummer featuring former Clash guitarist and very special guest Nick Sheppard. Taken from the The Terraces Extra Time EP. Available for download on i-tunes
Outstanding! Intense, faithful and menacing. Just how I saw them play it all those years ago. Thanks for bringing back some fantastic memories - bravo guys!
Wow! I saw this again just now, after my last input below, and it got my adrenaline flowing. One of my fave Clash songs, really powerful and meaningful, and what a version! Excellent justice!
Kev Addison. The terraces never claim to be a clash cover band. This is their version!!! And a fucking brilliant cover. He never said he wanted to sound like joe??? Once a singer gone nobody can sound like them. I'm just glad the terraces did this as its a fucking belta. Enjoy it or turn off.👊
Ironically the singer looks rather like Clash roadie Johnny Green who penned the excellent `A Riot Of Our Own` a great insight from someone closest to the group.
Man, this started off ferocious-but then the Chipmunks started singing!! Who made the executive decision that the vocals should sound like punk Rug Rats?? It’s still a phenomenal cover of one of the greatest rock n roll songs ever.
Can’t believe people slagging them of best cover let’s see how good the people that are saying it’s shit because he’s no match on strummer don’t think he wants to sound like him just there own take
Cheers Neil. Its a dedication to the band we love and to great man himself. We did it honestly, with all out heart and soul and put everything we had into it. Its our way of saying Thank You for inspiring us. Cheers for checking us out mate.
@@neilstubbs682 Really? Thanks for the info, One Way System's "Jerusalem" acoustic version is one of my faveorite punk songs from that era. Better than the single....I think it was on a compilation called "A Country Fit For Heros", probably on RU-vid. Took me a while to realize they were singing about a nightclub called "Jerusalem", not the city in the Middle East.
Finally, a Clash cover with some actual energy and intensity. Not half bad, fellas. But probably ought to modify the actual note-for-note (mostly) guitar solo.
Bastard hellfire on a bike ....... with bells on .... that was superb . I was gritting my teeth bangin my bass foot on the floor of the van in some sorts order :)
