Jai Opetaia is making waves as the newest sensation in the heavyweight division. Having ripped the boxing script up beating Mairis Briedis to claim his first world title, he has his eyes set on everyone in the division from Chris Billam Smith to Richard Riakporhe to even a possible match up with Bivol. After his knockout of Ellis Zorro, the division has been put on notice.

Hope you do a video on aj vs Ngannou! It’s honestly the most risky fight for Joshua in my eyes, and almost a lose lose when it comes to his world champion ambitions. Apart from the pay day from the Saudis it just doesn’t make sense, wilder/whyte vs Ngannou and aj vs hergovic then fury (regardless of the usyk outcome) would have seemed a better fit. And just wanted to say your channel is criminally underrated and would genuinely be great as a cutaway segment on a boxing Tv show

Jai is also the cousin of Tim Cahill the Everton & Millwall Footballer, Whose Goal Celebration was to Shadow Box the Corner Flag, to Honour His Father and Grandfather, and showing He came from a Fighting Family, and I’m sure Tim was an amateur Boxer too, but then took up his Footballing Career!

I remembered back in 2011/12 Transworld Sport ( not a name you could give a TV Program now a days! lol 😂 ) Done a article, on Tim and Jai, and the Samoan 🇼🇸 Back ground, Tim was at Everton and Jai was Training for the Olympics and I just remembered His name, when he was a few fights in from turning Pro and Looked him up to make sure it was the same guy, then he got the Briedis fight and everyone knew him! lol 😂 Keep Up The Videos and The Podcast, Uncle Propa, i been Sub since day one, and can’t wait for a video to drop to share with my Mate in America! 👌💪✊🤣🤣

Have you ever been hit on the nose and then spend 2 weeks not even being able to blow it properly? This guy had his jaw broken, in 2 places, and kept fighting for half an hour!!!! (Not technically 100% accurate, but being dramatic.) That's the scariest thing about Jai.

Bloody hell, I took a fairly solid punch to the nose in sparring not too long ago and was like, "Yeah, that'll do me for the evening," and this guy breaks his jaw on both sides and still keeps fighting. What a monster and what a fighter. Best KO of the evening too against Zorro IMO.

Not wrong we’ve produced some of the best fighters out there. Jimmy Thunder with his 2 second KO in heavy weight, David Tua the Champaign who never held a belt, Joseph Parker, Mark Hunt, Jai etc. They are all samoan fighters raised in other countries but I feel Samoans can definitely continue to produce far more inspirational fighters as the years go by

Jai Opetaia is an absolute monster at CW and I hope, for him and for us the fans, that he gets to become a CW great during his career. I think he has the goods to do it but...this present day nonsense of one or two fights a year makes me fear that almost nobody will get to become a true great in this era. Good video and I am really interested in seeing the development of Opetaia. I do feel like the current up and coming HW landscape really lends itself for Jai to be able to take over. The IBF mention is also really interesting, because at the time the mandatory was Breidis, and he actually agreed to a step aside deal, but the IBF chose to strip him anyway. There seems to be a concerted effort to keep Opetaia away from the title.

Well done and same thoughts here. The Breidis fight was amazing and wow with his jab to somehow withstand broken jaws and best the highly touted champ. Thompson did not suck at all. Actually he came out with some good good stuff but Jai was shockingly strong. Zorro doesn't suck at all and came trying and a shocking 1st round KO like that. Opetaia seems unbeatable.

Lovely Story. I haven't seen much of Jai, but looking at the rest of the CW division it looks like he has an opportunity to unify all four belts (business corruption notwithstanding). He also looks like if he moved to HW he'd get blasted out. But unify all four and CW and go down in history as a legend, not a bad option.
