Ryan: Just picked up my 2023 Model Y and Tesla has removed the bumper sensors that I enjoyed on my Model 3 to see how far we were from an obstacle. What do you know about this?
Thank you very much for this video. You're the only person who has provided measurement details on seat height; something I have been wondering about. Thanks!
The overall shape of the car is the ‘egg’ form , low front hood and high roof and trunk, which has been around for decades. It needs some style features to make it more distinctive. The full glass roof must make the interior really hot in the summer.
*@Ryan Shaw* -- Still a wonderful video! The best Model Y coverage I have seen thus far. Thanks a lot. Sorry about your music issue. Happy to watch again!
I love watching your videos.... I kinda got the feeling you did this video just for me because you showed off the back and side to side. I just want to see the front! lol
Thank you for this video. Its one of The best tesla car videos i have ever seen. High quality editing & camera work along with to the point information (no nonsense stuff). Very informative !!!
thanks for the video and especially for the dimensions in meters and mm. Unfortunately we have to wait another year to get the Model Y from our Gigafactory in Berlin serving Europe. Greetings from Germany :-)
What is length from the seat all the down to top of door frame? I’m 6 feet 2 inches and have a tough time bending to get in a car. This measurement is critical to me on weather I buy any car Thanks
When he said the glass on the rear hatch was dark he wasn't kidding. I test drove a Model Y yesterday and my biggest complaint was the glass in the rear hatch was so dark it really limited your view in the rear view mirror to the point where it was almost useless. Question? Can you fold down the front passenger seat? John
I have a left knee immobilization issue and can easily sit in highly seated/positioned car. This car gives me hope. In comparison to other Tesla cars, this one is better for people who need to get up from chair position. :)
the 28" is good! I have a passenger with a bad hip. I need to know if the passenger seat (front) can go up to 28", or what can it do? (Higher is better for the passenger. Thanks - Jay
i have had a black model Y for about a month now. It's by far the best car I have ever driven. I came from owning 2 Mercedes Benz SUV's and it's not even close. I'm Tesla for life. Wish they would make a Y with falcon doors though, cos the X is too big
So I’ve done a lot of thinking and investigating. The reason why they put usb c in the back is because it’s reversible. It is not because usb c has a higher power delivery capability because they are only usb 2.0 which doesn’t fast charge. Phones have only recently started coming with usb c to c cables in the box. Not that the included cable is worth keeping. But it doesn’t make too much sense because you will have to probably buy a new cable for the back because your phone probably came with an a to c cable instead of a c to c. Not to mention that not many people carry around a cable in the first place so you’ll have to stock some in the car for your guests. Just a pain because I already have a to c cables that I can’t give to my guests. Now I need to go out and buy new cables. First world problems.
I'd say the problem not having a trunk's tray is safety, rather than showing what's inside. In case of accident, everything will fly around and hit passengers. Is there any review about safety coming up? I think it would be great. Thanks for the videos.
Since this is performance model with upgrade, how much is it lowered by in comparison to the normal trim? 🤔 I’d like a non performance with lowered suspension
I really hate that sloppy carpet seam on the side of the seat riser at 2:40. Went for a test drive yesterday and that was the first thing that jumped into my eyes when I opened the door.
Hi. You measured from the ground to the top of the seat but left out measuring from the ground to the roof of the car. This is important because the roof of the 3 is pretty low where you have to be careful not to hit your head getting in.
Gary Jameson no official ratings for the Model Y yet, but here’s the Model 3 with a glass roof: cleantechnica.com/2019/06/26/why-tesla-model-3-is-the-safest-car-on-the-planet-video/
no spare at all... does it come with run flat tyres? also frunk...is it a wet frunk with a drain outlet...? btw cargo cover is not only about privacy, but also about sound barrier, i would miss that cover.
Hi Ryan! I ordered a Model Y as well but I heard there are a lot of quality control issues and a lot of cosmetic defects and stuff like that. I was wondering if you had a video (I might have overlooked it) talking about things I need to look for on my first inspection of the vehicle before I receive or reject it. Thanks!
Hi Ryan, Thanks for share all the videos, they are really helpfully. I just got mine Tesla Y today and your video help a lot, I have one question is when I notice my car have problems, I just report to Tesla service and they will help me fix that? Does they charge us at all ? Thanks
11:02 How did you get this shot? And thank you for showing the trunk self closing at the push of a button. This must be accessible from the front screen as well, correct? Little details that I don't see in other vehicles and makes me sad thinking it's not included. One other question: Doesn't the model Y comes with seat position memory for 2 people?
Great video! Just ordered my Model Y. Loved my Model 3! One thing that I noticed is the frunk arms: it'll be much more difficult to make the frunk automatic or have the assisted lift
@@rscranman2002 love it! Can't believe it's been a year. With the dual motor and extra space, it's everything that I wanted from the 3 plus the extras of an SUV. We got in a couple getaways in the summer with a newborn and all her stuff, and I feel like there's no way that would have happened with the 3's trunk
Can you compare the cargo space with your old Honda fit? I love my 2010 Honda fit because of huge cargo space, especially that I can fit my bike in it without laying it down!!! I'd love to know if that's the case for model Y!
I do not feel safe about glass ceiling unless it is reinforced which withstand hails and stone chips . Also about door handle, if that ok to use during freeziing winter night ? . Does it have replaceable cabin filter ? Is window wiper easily replaceable ?
Ryan. I just ordered one. From what I gather of the doors, trunk, or hood is not aligned properly I should refuse deliver, would you agree. Basically all the parts on hinges. It seems like they can’t fix those
First time having Tesla, model Y in early August 2020. Got to go back few times, each time couple days for services. They never come as “mobile service “ stated. Could not even order a loaner in advance. Tesla policy! Not cool to deal with no car for few days even though Uber offered. Never experienced a brand new car with such issues and such bad customer service. Missed owning a Mercedes.
Thanks. Hmm but it's better for the camera man to shoot at the centre console at a slighly higher position when you are presenting as I can see it clearly..
First, I would like to see latest solar panels embedded for extra miles on the bonnet and the rooftop keeping the panoramic glass. Second, I want to have GPS guided solar tree, coming out of the car at the time when it is in office/home parking. It should be almost free to drive, from home to office and vice versa with this 30-50miles solar backup on weekdays. Third, It should have an 1000miles hydrogen pack reserved for long drives on weekends. Fourth, Batteries can be restricted to 200miles range. This will improve efficiencies because of less weight and compensate for backup by solar and hydrogen. Fifth, It should have four independent hub motors for all four wheels. Tesla Zee Model with all five above implemented will be the Caar to have..!!
Got mine a week ago and I've been over the moon ever since. Everything about my model Y has been perfect. Also got the midnight gray, but mine is awd, long range. Couldn't recommend it enough
@Anthony Smith All told with taxes and everything, it came out to be around $55k. My scheduled payments are $780/mo, but I plan on paying more and hopefully have it paid off in 5 years
Thanks for this vid now you have made it harder for me to decide whether to get the Y or wait for the 25k Tesla that is coming! 😉😁👍🏾🤣😜Lol I am not in the market for a car technically yet but I want a Y even more now! Lol
Unfortunately yes...had an issue with music licensing, even though I had permission. So there's new music. Gonna get a lot of comments about that and I feel bad about having to reupload, but it is what it is
I'm having trouble finding this info: how long is the back if the seats are folded down and the front seats moved up as far as possible? Trying to figure out if a 6' person could sleep in the back. Thanks!
Why no one is commenting about common parts between Model Y and 3. No comment on front and rear bumper, grill, Head lamps, tail lamps side marker lamps...I saw comments about octavalve, battery etc., but no exterior features
Great video, Thank You! I have a simple question: Hatchback trunk opens very high. I own the Ford Kuga and it is very easy to set a preferred opening height. I don't think I have the clearance in my garage... How is this handled on Model Y?
Other videos that I've seen have said you can set a preferred height for the Model Y as well (it was either double pressing or holding the button on the door)
this thing would look so much better if it wasn't a hatchback not to say its necessarily ugly I just wish it had more of a Jeep Grand Cherokee look lol..very good review tho 👍
What I am thinking is it looks like there will be design flaw, when you open your trunk and there is water on rear window, it will fall down right into your trunk right? Or it is solved somehow?
Hey Ryan! I appreciate your reviews of the Model Y. I have a unique situation: I"m a paraplegic and an essential feature for me is the trunk clearance for my wheelchair. I need at least 26"-28" of height for the folded chair to clear the hatch and fit. Is there anything you've done that includes that particular measurement of the opening height? Again, thanks for all you do - your reviews have been tremendously helpful!
I wish one day Tesla would design an actual SUV with high clearance not a cross over for the snowy areas so drivers wouldn't get stock in snow storm, blizzards. That's the reason I'm holding off on buying a Tesla.
