I fell upon this by accident, you don't know how refreshing it is to hear from his daughter about who the real man the Duke was, I grew up on his films, he has always been my hero, and I have to share when I am feeling lost, lonely, worried I watch a John Wayne film and feel so safe and know things will be ok, thankyou Duke for the films, for the inspiration to keep going, when things look bad, you were not just a movie star, you were not just America, you were the voice of thousands, the heart of thousands, you were a light in the dark to so many , A true Hero of the world ,
John Wayne left a legacy, not only of films but the man behind the films. You knew he had high ethics about behavior, what was proper or not, he came across as a man who knew when to be a gentlemen, and when to be a no nonsense roughyin. I think today we need him more than ever. Sad he is gone, although not forgotten by those of us who loved him. He is still greatly missed even in 2024. the world's a different place without him or those like him. Bless his memory!
Love his Voice, Great Actor, Wonderful Father, Kind and lovely person, great remember him. Love his MOVIES they bring joy and happiness to all. JOHN WAYNE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBER because his legacy will always be in our Hearts.
Oh my God you are royalty to me , I love your dad to this day ,I don’t go an entire day without watching him in some way there is never going to be a finer American in Hollywood love him so much and you are a complete beauty Jesus you’re perfect ❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸
I have great 8MM home movies of my parents and John Wayne near Catalina on that boat…. I have been around “Hollywood”, never star struck, but always wish I could have met John Wayne.
I just want to say......., that JOHN WAYNE has been mine and my big brother David's favorite since the late 50ties. Our favorite western tv cowboy......., He was also our grandaddy's favorite but my brother and I called our 😮 grandaddy DADDY....., and he died in 1962...... But David & I have watched hundreds of John Wayne movie......I am so glad I will see him in heaven soon. I know Jesus is in his heart 😊😊
I think it's sad that this current generation of me, me, me.. and trying to hold the Duke to today's politically correct standards and trying to get things renamed is a crying shame. He was an honest and truthful man. He didn't push his thoughts onto others. But when asked a question, he answered truthfully. Many people are scared to answer truthfully today. Not the Duke If he was around today, I know he would still answer truthfully No onecanever takethatfromhimever. An American ICON and Hero in America. .
My dad always said the same thing. I watched John Wayne movies with him many times before he died and I still watch in honor of him till this day. There's more than a few roles where he definitely should have been at least nominated
I recently found out during a genealogy search of my family that Marion Robert Morrison aka John Wayne is a cousin of mine on his dads Clyde Leonard Morrison side. I'm kin to him on my dad's side. I found this so interesting because my grandpa loved watching The Duke in all of his movies. ❤❤❤
While in my 30s, I would watch western movies with my father. It didn't matter who was the star of the movie. But I would sit on the floor where he sat and watch the movie he was watching. It's been 20 years since he passing and I'm now 71. It seems that I only watch western movies now. Especially the oldest! I've enjoyed the tour of the Wayne family Legacy of your father. And I will keep watching westerns movies till my time ends.
Marisa, im a 60 year old man that, to this day, LOVES watching your Father's artistic talent. He was what i always aspired to be. I must admit though, the movie i liked least was The Shootist, because it brought the giant of a man down to human levels. I still weep for him.
Wonderful documentary of John Wayne. Also it was mice to see one of his children his daughter do this documentary. I’ve always loved watching his movies. So many favorites to mention. I learn a lot more about him that I never knew. ♥️♥️♥️😊👍
If you have not seen it do yourself a big favor and watch the big trail. Great movie with depth of characters and plot. The river crossing scene is incredible could never be shot today. Just amazing
My granny when we would go up to visit on the coach for a holiday to Glasgow would get all excited and say on a Saturday there's a John Wayne movie on tonight, your Ma 'n' Da are off out to visit old friends so u3 kids will be staying up with me 'n' Grumps to watch it in our bed. I was a toddler then in the early 70's. My favourite movie is probably his last.......The Shootist. R.I.P The Duke and many thanks for the wonderful memories.
What a nice and pretty woman my favorite actor's daughter is, especially when she smiles. She speaks very clearly and has charisma. She would probably have been a great actress too.
There will never ever ever ever be another John Wayne or a man of country and statue as he was. Rest in peace you had the attention of the world. And the world shall forever miss you .
Isn't it lovely to hear that a man you never met is as lovely your heart told you he was. Huge fan of the Duke. I love that if you're watching one of his films his genuine warmth and humour shone in his eyes. Nice to hear his daughter's remembrance of this great man. He lives on in so many hearts all over the world. A TRUE LEGEND.
The Tex Factor: My Dad, The Duke 1130am 21.8.24 excellent. another he was great moment but what the hell........ i have a couple of his old early movies. the unintentionally amusing ones......eg: where they skip from one scene to the next and emphasize the speed of the scene much to one's bemusement and laughter....
Love Mr John Wayne, baseball, apple 🍏🍎🍎 pie, and John Wayne, he's a legend and patriot an American USA #1 ,and on and on. Prayers 🙏🙏🙏🙏 always to God and Country USA in Jesus Christ name amen and amen.
I met a couple of ladies a little over a year ago they live out johns river rd . Just outside of Aberdeen wa . Well I was helping them clean out an old leather shop that 93!year old Helen & her husband had built here on their property. And miss Helen who is such a hoot to be around , says to me . “ I don’t got no money to pay you for your hard work but there’s lots of beads & leather you can have 😂 I truly love her . Anyways her daughter Becky says hey you can have these boots if ya want them. She goes on to say that they belonged to non other than John Wayne. Yep when Mr Wayne was here in 1973 making the car chase move in ocean shores he dropped off those boots at Helen’s & her Husband Al’s boot repair shop in town when it was by the YMCA and he for got to come back for them 😂so needless to say yep I got big John’s boots
Just WOW ! I had no idea, so he's still helping people. Remarkable. I love him so much! I'm sorry you lost him at a young age, every girl needs her daddy. He reminds me a lot of my dad He looks a lot like my dad ,I also lost my dad young. I see him in you, your brother too . One day I'll come see all that . But until I do, thank you for a wonderful video!❤
Well heck the Duke did that Whoa!!!to the cars as well,my old da did that all the time,I thought he,Aw never mind, now I know where he got that from,he was big like the Duke a bit smaller I think at 6 3 so aye he was a wee bit smaller, but the Duke was his fav actor and mine, but my own old da was my biggest hero WWII vet a British army Commando, but you dad influenced us both a lot just loved the Duke,as the greatest cowboy of them all,and yet the Quite Man was one of me an da's best picture of him, great documentary well done
