Me and my family are from the south end of Beaumont I have been eating there for 50+ years I know Robert personally and he is as genuine as a man can be he never fails to visit for a bit and we reminisce its awesome
It isn't sausage. Sausage is what every other BBQ joint in the world calls links. Sausage is pork and beef combined. What Robert makes is an all-beef LINK. Garlic bombs. Delicious. I have been eating at Patillo's for at least 58 years that I remember.
A family who lives and loves there job, making people happy when they eat the food, cooking B.B.Q.is a art and the family is blessed to keep that family tradition going.
I grew up eating Patillo's BBQ. I've know Robert since I was very young. Despite some of the comments I have seen, every time I come to Beaumont, I have to get some of this BBQ and bring it back home to my brother. It has never disappointed me. It is the one place where you have to try the sauce. I usually fly into Beaumont Municipal and always bring another pilot with me. It's on our list for great places to fly for BBQ (except for a vegan flight instructor I took there).
Your comments here reminded me of our training flights when I was a Blackhawk crew chief in the Army…. Most of our training flights were to small airfields near some great restaurants and cafes… The best kept secret when asked where were we!! 😅🍽
ZUMMOS, Jason's deli, DJ'S BOUDAIN, Tex Joy , Seaport coffee ,Tiffany Derry, Beaumont has a rich food history oh lets not forget Conn's and Kendrick Perkins
If someone is having a link sale and you ask what kind of sausage ya got and they say beef and not Zummos then it’s a no go... I travel with my zummos and texdot.
I live in bmt been here all my life I'm live a block from there and cant believe they made it on this list there food was good back in the day but has fallen way off I dont trust the bucket list anymore if pattilos made it💯
Was good back in the day! Tillman's bbq was the best in Beaumont.... Patillos bbq was my dad's favorite though! Proud that the business is still around!
Yes!!!!!! The kids didnt wanna run tillmans after he died. I tried to talk them into opening it back up. Tried to convince them to even just open up during LUNCH HOURS for the Exxon Mobil workers who would definitely come there for lunch🤦🤦🤦 Smh
Been a while since I enjoyed their BBQ. Guess next time I'm in my home area, it's time for Patillo's!! And if you want a great Chicken Fried Steak or Chicken or other home cooked comfort food, try Red Wagon Cafe off S IH10 in Vidor at the flea Market. You never walk away hungry there!! Wish the buffet was back.
The links are amazing. I've been eating at Patillo's since the early 60's and nobody makes better BBQ than Robert and his family. Everything they make is great, but the LINKS are what keeps and my family coming back. Same recipe for over 100 years.
Beaumonts pretty nice but theres alot of roadwork (nothing stopping traffic) but on I-10 around 5 pm there is traffic on one side The people here are super nice too! Parkdale Mall may not be the biggest place but its a good place to visit I hope you enjoy your stay😊😊
Hi, Mr. Patillo - Our last name is actually Scottish. I was told it was spainsh, italian and dominican... It is Scottish. There are a few different spellings. Can't wait to try your BBQ that next time I am back in Texas!
Awesome Story & Review I ❤️❤️❤️ this place and the most important part is the TEXAS LINKS I get tired of going to a barbecue place order a Link and it’s a Sausage 🤣😂🤣 but here I know I’m getting a Link even tho I don’t like Barbecue but those links & sauce and customer service I drive down from Houston to get them 😘
Flying Saucer pies!!! From the Texas town that holds it DOWN!! HTOWN till we drown. Ain’t no place like the H. Also Myti burger 43rd!! If you ain’t scared.... Lol
It’s…Not…”Sausage”…🤣! It’s a Beef Link! Hard to explain to folks outside of Beaumont/S.E. Texas, though! Having some links, pork, ham and sauce delivered to me in Houston later today in fact!
Yhey do the fine grind on their sausage? I can not remember. I know a lot of places here in BMT do it with a fine grind and it is a weird texture for me. Been a few tears since I had any BBQ from there.
Have been going to Patillos for year’s. Hope your not disappointed but the last brisket I got about a month ago was nowhere as good as it’s always been. Guess a different cook is working there now.
We heard this was the place to go so we checked it out. Hubby and I tried brisket, ribs and chicken. I was so sad to experience overcooked /dry chicken, chewy ribs and just meh brisket. The sides were equally disappointing. What I will say though the waitress was very good at checking on us and nice, the owner seemed like a sweetheart. I just didn’t have the heart to tell them it was bad. I don’t know if it was just an off day but we prob won’t try it again. I wish them the best and applaud a small business with kind people!
What you mean everybody knows this place? I live in Beaumont and never in my life ate there in my whole life. But any chance I can go then one day I will. Just if my dad wants to though.
This makes no sense what if they picked out a certain time where it wasn't busy to talk to the owner? Smh you can't betrustrd to know whats good because you gave a perfect example you follow the crowd! Smh
1701 barbecue is the best barbecue in Beaumont. Then Broussard's, and the rest really aren't worth mentioning. Patillos has history in the community but the food is not that great.
Black owned(and oldest at that)business since the 50’s…whoops..goes against the narrative the Left throws out..wish i lived down that way(well not really acct its Beaumont )but sure like to visit it..the ribs looked crusted with goodness..continued luck..
