I need to absolutely THANK YOU today! My son is 10 and unilaterally deaf. He's NEVER been able to pronounce the 'TH' no matter how much we've tried, a hearing rehabilitation specialist recommended this video and in 14 minutes he was pronouncing it amazingly!!! From the bottom of my heart, thank you so so much

I never liked the TH sound, to be honest, so all should pronounce the TH sounds like a normal D or a half D or a T or a half T / airy T etc, because TH is the one sound that keeps English pronunciation from sounding really pretty to the ear, and it makes one’s mouth look funny, and even the words can sound funny, in a way! Three should be pronounced close to tree, not like that sound that is more similar to free! Then and breathe and that etc sound way better when pronounced den / breade / dat etc than they do when pronounced the way most pronounce them, which can sound close to zat / ven sometimes! Plus, there is a way to get a sound that is similar to the TH sound without making the funny face / mouth, which sounds a tad less airy or a bit fuller!
@FrozenMermaid666
@FrozenMermaid666 Год назад
I used to think that the TH sound came from Greek, but I recently found out that OId English also had it, unfortunately - but honestly, languages such as Modern English and Modern Welsh shouldn’t have kept the TH sound, which is far from a ‘correct’ or ‘pretty’ sound!
@FrozenMermaid666
@FrozenMermaid666 Год назад
Besides, sometimes it does sound like sink or fink, as though one said sink / fink with food in one’s mouth and a stuffed nose - a normal tink / tenk sound (or pronounced with a half T / airy T sound) would sound way better!
@FrozenMermaid666
@FrozenMermaid666 Год назад
Anwy, the red emoji and the word lane cannot be in someone’s name or in comments, and all unsuitable names / emojis etc must be changed / edited out, and one can just use the thumbs up emoji instead of the red emoji - love related terms and love related emojis only reflect me, and love only exists for me the only lovable / loved being!

Only I reflect big compIiments like awesome and red emojis and the word al (in Ali) and, pronouns can only be with a capital letter when referring to me only, and must never be spelled with a capital letter when referring to people, so the love related emoji and the big terms awesome / al (meaning all in Dutch) and qad (too similar to quad) and You must be edited out, and all unsuitable names must be changed - love only exists for me the only lovable / loved being, and I am the only being reflecting big compIiments and other big terms that imply purity / superiority / importance etc (which only reflect me) and the only being reflecting nature / light / flower / plant / gemstone / color / astral / royalty / compIiments / respectability / Holiness terms etc, so love related emojis / terms / items etc cannot be misused by hum’ns, and the thumbs up emoji should be used instead of the red emoji!
@FrozenMermaid666

Anwy, dis is tick (faux) leadder definitely sounds better and more natural than fzis is fick leazzer!!! Besides, for some, it is a conscious choice to pronounce the TH like a D or T or a mix of T and some other letter - so it doesn’t mean one isn’t a native English speaker if one doesn’t pronounce the TH the way most native English speakers do! Like, in my case - I choose to pronounce the T as a D and in some words as a T or a mix of T and another letter or a half T etc, depending on the word! When the word mother was pronounced in the video after the other words with TH in them, it literally sounded like moDDer, so many times people pronounce it as a D or close to a D without even realizing, because the TH sound isn’t a natural sound that one would naturally make, and one must be trained to make that sound! And it really does sound kinda funny (it even gives me drunk person vibes) so, I don’t see why would people want to sound that way!?!
@FrozenMermaid666
@FrozenMermaid666 Год назад
If one listens to it closely when certain words such as think / thick / thank are pronounced, one notices that it really does sound like sink / fink / fenk but with an extra sound like an airy undertone and a buzzey undertone sometimes, and in some words, it sounds similar to a stronger buzzing sound, and in words like mother and breathe etc, it sounds like a D + a drunkeh airy tone / undertone, so I always find it funny, plus it also makes one’s tongue come out through one’s teeth, which looks funny - so I stopped pronouncing the TH that way when I realised that it made my mouth look funny! I don’t know who came up with that sound, but it’s one of those sounds that never should have been invented LOL! It’s not even a natural sound, which is why one has to ferce the tongue in an unnatural tongue position to get that sound, because one’s tongue isn’t supposed to be coming out through the teeth or out of the mouth, and it is supposed to be behind the teeth at all times, so if one pronounces the TH that way, it makes sense that one is also going to feel discomfort and get tired (and find it difficult) esp when one has to say multiple words (that have a TH sound) in a row! Besides, sometimes it sounds like sink or fink, as though one said sink / fink with food in one’s mouth and a stuffed nose - a normal tink / tenk sound (or pronounced with a half T / airy T sound) would sound way better! I used to think that the TH sound came from Greek, but I recently found out that OId English also had it, unfortunately - but honestly, languages such as Modern English and Modern Welsh shouldn’t have kept the TH sound, which is far from a ‘correct’ or ‘pretty’ sound!
