If you want the flower and the pure green look just choose trees that all flower at the same time of the year. So some months it will be colourful and the rest of the time it will be pure green

Hi Mikey! I am a horticulturist and store manager from dallas for a large retail nursery chain here in Texas...if fact, the second largest in the US. I have been in and out of the business for over 40 years, and I looooove you and RJ's home. Great job! I do recognize a lot of the material and the flowers under the palms are lantana...a native plant here in Texas. One thing I would like to suggest it to slightly raise your pots off the ground and surface. If you can find some Down Under Plant Stands, these starfish shaped plant risers do a great job of keeping the water/soil from staining the tile. The plants also benefit from the space under the pot by allowing moisture to drain out better and air/oxygen to move in. Another great product for large containers called an Upsy-Daisy allows you to plant in large pots without having way too much moisture containing soil than required...plants get overwatered and then rot. It creats a raised false bottom within the container. My husband and I follow you religiously and I hope you don't mind the suggestions. Love you guys!!! Bryan

Hello Mikey and RJ, the farm house looks spectacular! About the trees, while the green foliage looks great, it would be more beneficial to plant more native trees to support the wildlife. Many native trees produce the most beautiful flowers and fruits that will provide food for pollinators, birds, etc. Some examples include the banaba tree (Lagerstroemia speciosa) that produces purple flowers and one of the herbal plants recognized by the DOH to have medicinal properties. Another gorgeous flowering tree is the narra (Pterocarpus indicus), the national tree of the Philippines which produces lovely yellow flowers. For scent, the ilang-ilang (Cananga odorata) is also nice. The Philippines is a biodiversity hotspot with so many awesome tree species, but as you are aware, many of them are threatened. You can contribute to their conservation by planting more of them.

OH MY GOSH!!! What a fantastic vlog!!! I loved every moment of this one! So, I’ve figured out something… RJ has a super power when it comes to decor and I think it comes from his Club 33 hat, ;). It seems he’s wearing it when ya’ll are shopping and visualizing new decor… I LOVE IT!!! LOL. It’s RJ’s Sorcerer Hat… I just can’t stop. OMG!! The Toy Store Tho!!! I’ve had to replay that a bunch of times so I don’t miss anything!! Yes, I collect stuff like this! A LOT!! NIB (New In Box) is super important, good that you stopped RJ from unboxing all that, LOL. WOW, I’m so impressed!! The Joseph Room is beyond awesome, I don’t know the word but, YEA!! A-MAY-ZING!!! Ya’ll really smashed it out of the park here. I’m loving that new furniture, WOW, it’s crazy good! I love the colors of the pillows but, this is my color palette, ya’ll have a different palette so, definitely get different colors to match your vibe. Colored trees for the jungle… HECK YES!! I think it would GOR-JUICE (but I’m the guy that has nothing but color in every room of my home)… whatever you decide it’ll be perfect (I can definitely imagine colorful blooms on the trees and it would just be incredible). Rizal looks like he’s really filling out, he’s such a beautiful pup. I love seeing the littles on the roof deck, they’re so funny up there. It’s clear they own the place, LOL. I can’t wait to see how the roof deck shapes up and ya’ll have that party, it will be epic! Ya’ll deserve this! I’m so happy for you! Everything looks great! I love all the rooms but I think my main choice is the green room because of the view and the wall paper! Thundercats was my favorite growing up. ❤️

Mikey! 😆 There were so many more cartoons from the 80's/90's that weren't mentioned which catapulted the Geek & Toy Collector movement😅. Firstly, you MUST get some G.I. Joe's and make a collection for Brother Joe's namesake. 😂 Any collectible toy should be left in the package and kept pristine as possible. That will keep the value higher in the event they are sold. You should look into getting a couple collectible comic books and cards that match with the toy pieces & set them up next to them. It will accentuate the display more so. Also, you should possibly commission a person to make a couple dioramas of Marvel, DC, etc. Then to top it off, for any toy aficionado, ANIMÉ is a MUST. 🤣 Even Warhammer 40k dioramas would be AWESOME! Shall I go on? 🤔😄 I could take days to a month setting up one room if I had all the collectibles I wanted. To live in a perpetual toy house...😊

AHHHHHHHH! I want the Joseph room! I need all the shelves for my BTS, BT21, Tiny Tan and BTS-related stuff. 😅

you are right Mikey, maybe not so much color on the trees at the back... maybe just one tree with those bright yellow flowers will be a nice accent... one of two... you already have a lot of flowers... and that bouganvilla wall is amazing, it will look so pretty when they all bloom... and then a lush green forest at the back to sort of counter it... my favorite flower/ plant by the way is the bouganvilla... it is just soooo relaxing to look at... oh.. almost forgot, a big tree would look awesome in the middle of the aviary... a Talisay maybe, not so big, not so small... just an idea... thanks!

Just my opinion of course, but I see that dome lounge chair would look nice by the pool, where you can lounge closer to the water, when you just want to just sit close to the pool & not necessarily swim. If not, I think that chair would look nice up on the rooftop sandwiched between those big planters. I think lounging in that chair would be nice at chilly night & be stargazing & a small table to put your wine & cheese or just a cuppa joe. Now that drop off/landing from the pool where you put the wicker /lounge chairs, that would be a perfect place for an outdoor dinning table with a removable umbrella/canopy and put the pizza oven & grill near by. So when you have a pool party, you can just set the all the foods outside & do the grilling without the need to go back & forth in the house. Also have you considered getting a lounge wooden swing chair & park it in front of the where the mini house, facing the iguana's cage or the bougainvillea's? Just a thing of caution. Once you finalize location of your outdoor furniture, consider putting a bracket on the ground where you can anchor them especially the light ones. The Philippines as you know experienced more than 20 typhoons each year, you don't want those nice furniture getting blown off....of course the other alternative is to move them indoors before the storm arrives. Another suggestion, either on the ground or one the wall/post you should etched on a cement the month & year you completed the house, you & RJ can put your handprints on it , you can also include your dogs paws if you like. Also the date when you had it blessed which I hope you planned to do. Some etched the year the house was built traditionally on top or the landing outside of the main door or in some corner somewhere. When your house/land/trees/animals are blessed consider having salt, water & candles blessed that you can distribute & keep in all the rooms of your house. 😉 Sorry for the long comment, I loved how your house turned out.

The Locsin piece in the BBQ area would be so much better if you have several of those on the roof top. I noticed on one of the videos you have a tub in the middle and it would have a beach vibe with fairy lights when you have a party on top of your home. Ive been a fan of your vlogs and Ive been gushing with a lot of your designer furniture. I love the new guest room decor. My fantasy is to stay in the Green Room, and hang out in the pool and the aviary and the Ant Room during rainy season. My only complaint is the decision to leave the toys in Joseph's Room in their boxes. Perhaps you could buy a second set of toys and store them in a safe place as an investment? Toys should be loved and played with, not just saved for later. But, other than that, the new additions to the house are wonderful. I'm rooting for the birds nesting in the patio bush. I am cautiously hopeful, since they have gotten as far as eggs. Go, birds!

Green is best. It fits the natural scenery of everything else around you, all the other lots. All the colors are already there looking from the other side, with all the bougainvilleas.

hi mikey, that "bahay kubo" is now what you call the "bahay na bato". it actually fits the look now. i'm also a designer & did studied that in architectural school.

Trees would always give a green shade. So adding a tree that sheds seasonal flowers or colors will give your pool a variety of scenes year-round.

Looking at the Forrest from the pool, I love the natural tree look especially with the Sunset. BUT looking at it from the Bahay Kubo, I think the flowering trees would look beautiful. Maybe if you could leave most of the big trees that are already established and just plant a few in the little open parts would look nice. I just hate to see the big trees (banyan trees?) being cut. I think those trees are just so beautiful. What about a few apple trees 🍎🍏 being planted back there. That would bring everything SOOO full circle! I love that idea.. OMGeee that would be perfect!! 🐜🍎🐶🦜🏡💕

Love the vlogs Mikey! The bahay kubo would actually be a great place for you and your guests to get massages or an overall spa experience with the water sounds below and the trees in the forest towards the back. Just an idea :)

i think those outdoor couches should be closer together if it's meant to have a center table because if, for example, you're going to have drinks like alcohol or coffee, it's kinda awkward to constantly stand up just to reach for the table. to get your drink or put it back there. i also feel, it needs a bigger center table. that's just my humble opinion. 😁 😁 😁

I have just come back from Portugal and The swimming pool was freshwater and all the birds were coming down to take a drink. And the hotel had a cat hotel place for them to go they even came in side sitting on the chairs and every one were stroking them. Had a great holiday. Loving it furniture . How is melody the cat . Xx

If you put flowering trees there with vibrant color of flowers it will look like a resort near a forest but if you leave it as is, it’s like you’re one with nature. Like your place is part of that forest.

Fire trees with the red flowers, Golden shower with their yellow flowers, and Banaba (Myrtaceae) with their purple flowers look lovely.

I suggest planting native fruit trees that will attract more birds. The trees will flower for a short time, providing color. Hopefully, with an abundant food source, more birds will nest in your "jungle". Also, maybe you could start a wildlife photography hobby. I'm imagining awesome shots and videos of those swooping bats and colorful birds!

I would like you to plant an ylang ylang tree,bec the flowers are not bright just green and light yellow and they smell fragrant,otherwise if you have bright flowering trees will destroy the serenity of the backdrop,you have enough bright colored flowering plants in your place.

I think you should keep it green, mabe add plants or shrubs to enhance the lower parts of the landscaping. You have various Lantana that attracts the blue bees, I have two that attracts beautiful butterflys 🦋

Green trees looks better as backdrop on the pool area. The Joseph room is awesome while the yellow room kinda looks like butter.

20:48 Ant Man first debut in January of 1962. when get collectable toys i'd get two of them. 1 set is collectables and is put in lock china closet in it package. The other set is open, so I get to play with it when ever I want.

Behind the bahay kubo..I think fire tree and Philippine cherry blossom tree to add color and not just green. Also fruit bearing plants for your own consumption.

The 2 aircon outdoor units with blow hot air while you are chilling in the covered area. I think you should transfer them next to other ACs, so the exhaust will just blow in one direction. 46:30

The Veiw from the pool is already stunning but having colorful trees would make for incredible pictures! R.J. has wonderful taste and of course you do too! lol. I absolutely love your choices!
