I appreciate that you provide multiple examples, and have knowledge of the persons you speak of which give me memory nudges as I’m a little older. @vvyenne it got that nickname just because it holds so many different topics of life. I also think because 3rd house is one's mental processing, which effects absolutely every little thing in one's life. The feeling of "never know what you'll find in the junk drawer" is kind of metaphorical for never knowing exactly what's going on in someone else's mind. Like we only know what's in someone's junk drawer if they pull it out for us. It's a subterranean house that outsiders get to view based on what the native chooses to verbalize/ communicate about.

As someone with a 3H stellium/close conjunction of all my personal planets here, I just want to say how much I appreciate this episode + the fact that it’s literally 8 hrs long. So many astrologers spend very little time on this house, often referring to it as the “junk drawer” or a house with little depth or meaning outside of “communication.” Such a lack of exploration and understanding. Thank you both for this! My 3H stellium is squared by my ruler Saturn sitting in the 12H, so I struggle with wanting to be amongst my local community and wanting to be alone. I’m very close to my siblings, my neighbors are like family. I don’t like driving, and prefer to walk everywhere. I have to live in a walkable neighborhood/urban environment. I love going to my local markets and I’m very popular in my local community (Venus 3H). Third places are my second home. I get depressed if I’m sitting still for too long or can’t move around, or if living in a car dependent area. I oscillate between chatting with strangers and my neighbors on the daily (3H) and being isolated for long periods (12H Saturn square). My siblings are my biggest blessing in life. They’re my support system.
I’m also glad that they shared this deep dive. I have Uranus Neptune and Saturn in my 3rd house and have found most people also glancing over my stellium and feeling like I don’t really know what it means. I can’t wait to dig in!😊
omg no that‘s so sad. I‘m also a Third Houser (if we can call each other that) and I started doing my own podcast on the Houses earlier this year and I really wanted to give the 3H justice and put it in a different light than the usual more ‚boring‘ things it get‘s attributed too. Sooo yesss more justice for the 3rd House and us 3rd Houser People. I actually think it‘s one of the most fascinating and under looker and under appreciated Houses

Have always struggled with understanding my chart because of the frequently glossed-over 3rd house descriptions. This is super helpful!!

The third house has always been hard for me to grasp and this has helped immensely. Thank you! A note on Patsy Cline, she was hospitalized as a child with a severe throat infection and is quoted as saying "it was my return to the living after several days that launched me as a singer" because the infection had permanently affected her voice. Interesting since Venus rules the twelfth!

I appreciate thorough videos like these like you said, once you put it out you can be sure you never have to put out anything specifically about it again because you’ve gone through most things relevant to it This is how I like to approach things, but it often leads me to never putting anything out because I keep thinking of extensions or additions to the idea

This is incredible! I have Pluto, Saturn, and Mars in my 3rd in Scorpio! I do many things including Astrology, horse hoof trimming, massage therapy, raft guiding, ski instructing, house cleaning…and more! I finished my Masters Degree in Biology during my Saturn return. Left that career to be a mother and do all these other things. ❤ I also do everything involved in spirituality and outdoor activities.

Wow ! You guys are blowing me away. No matter the house system i end up with 4 planets and my s. node in the 3rd house, aquqrius. Saturn at 0 degrees, mercury, jupiter, s.node and moon at 29.59. Im 62 yr old and i wish i could have had an input on this podcast. You gave me so much insite, there was so much did not know about the 3rd house. My asc ruler is in the 3rd.

Good God! Thanks a lot! My third house is pretty loaded: In whole sign houses I have Pluto, SN, Moon and Saturn. In Placidus I have SN, Moon, Saturn and Uranus. Either house system I feel all the positions quite heavily.
I am vibrating with excitement!!! I haven't watched this yet, BUT i have been parched for information on this topic. I have a packed third house, featuring an exalted Mars in a Mars ruled night chart... who just so happens to be at 17 degrees of Capricorn. This part of my chart has consistently baffled me. This is one of the reason's I love astrology: I found the knowledge I was looking for to understand this part of my chart right when it's about to be activated in a big way. i've got the moon, my chart ruler, in the 3rd house. Resonating with several significations mentioned. One way I see the 3rd house is homesteading! Multi-tasking the many to-do's of living with the land. Milking the goats, watering the garden, making bread, soaking the willow branches for weaving, foraging mushrooms, gardening with the moon... it's a rhythmic lifestyle.

I am enjoying this immensely as Mercury is conjunct my NN in 12th house right now and Pluto gets ready to transition from Cap into Aqu in my 3rd. Spent today networking in my community, putting on workshops in local churches- not my comfort zone! Lots of downloads/synchronicities and phone calls coming in too! Just came back from an elderly neighbor's house after I saw an ambulance there (never reached out to them before). Even attended my first HOA meeting a few days ago. Really getting out into my community (and this was a community I had an extreme disdain for when my husband and I moved here- Originally from Phoenix, then San Diego and now Cleveland- hated the snow and lack of sun!)

Sun and Mercury in Gemini in the third house. I got my bachelor’s in communication and am now in grad school for creative writing. I just finished writing my first novel ever over the summer. It seems as if my whole life is school and communication. I also have a sister who is one of the closest people in my life.
With my Uranus @ 17/34 and Pluto @ 17/24 w/ AC @ 19 conjunction in Virgo in the third and mercury in my 5th, I will submit that I irrevocably transformed my family and legacy. I have been in an interracial marriage for 37 years and have two biracial children and five grandchildren. They are all amazing and beautiful and the loves of my life. We’ve been blessed with a good marriage and friendship. A great family. It is exquisite because I was southern raised in a traditional and pretty stereotypically prejudice family. To say how transformative this has been to my family, local communities, I’ll actually never know. I can say over the years I have seen people change their expectations as they live and work around us. (Unfortunately not everyone.) Thank you for all you do!
Yay! I’m really excited for this one 😊 I haven’t got any third house placements, however my third house is Libra and I’ve got Venus in the 7th in a night chart. I’ve been so lucky in my siblings!!! I’ve got four sisters and brother all of whom are wonderful people (intelligent, interesting, artistic, attractive, and generally delightful) and as much friends as family. I’m also really lucky in my aunt and uncles, enjoy cordial relationships with my many cousins, and with the children of my parents’ various partners over the years (my parents are divorced). I’ve also usually had nice neighbors and lived in pleasant places where I almost always encounter kindness and friendliness from both acquaintances and strangers. It’s quite obvious that this is one of the best parts of my chart despite the fact that the house itself is empty 😊💫 Incidentally, various siblings, cousins, uncles, and childhood friends have Libra placements, as does my wonderful grandfather ☺️

My 3.5 yo granddaughter has her Sag rising Asc ruler (Jupiter), along with four other planets in her Aquarius third house. I also has Sag rising with my moon in Aquarius in my (and her) third house. I have been a significant care giver of her and have begun homeschooling and supporting her in her Montessori pre- school. She already knows her planets:) I am blessed to be in this role with her. I think this helps support putting grandparents as having third house significance, at least in her case. Her father's (my son) Aquarius Venus and Mars falls in her third, too. He is active working with her in his daily work (construction), etc. We all strongly feel the influence of Pluto moving into Aquarius.
Watching this I realized from June I have had 3rd house experiences. Libra is my 3rd house sign and Jupiter is there. There were so many planets in Libra lately and maybe the Pluto at 1 degee of Aquarius being trine to my Jupiter transformed so many things. I moved and started driving a lot more than I did in my last location. I moved back to my home state to a place I lived 10 years ago. In June my mother’s sister died and in July I had moving issues, then reunited with former neighbors and visited my brother and his family who now live closer to me. I live next door to my old coworker (unexpectedly) when I moved in I saw him. Then my mother passed away and my siblings and I were planning the funeral. It turned out my cousins had their mother’s service Sept 14 and we had my mother’s service 6 days later in the place where she was born and where my grandparents met. And where my maternal family members are buried. Now my parents are there. We met up with family members and old friends. My profection year house is my 8th house and I inherited some money and it is my younger brother’s 8th house (Pisces) also his Saturn return. He was born April 7 1964 so he went to see the eclipse near his Texas home. I told him it would be a major change in his life and I felt that this was the year our mother would pass. More 3rd house is that when I moves I was offered a writing role at the local paper writing about the town people and events. I am writing a lot and meeting a lot of writers. My sun is in Aquarius my Venus is in Aquarius trine the Jupiter. Venus is also conjunct transit Pluto. Hoping for a partner-some 7th house love.
For the polyglot (3:43:00) you can look at (Archduke) Otto von Hapsburg. He was the crown prince of the old Austro-Hungarian empire, and was a prominent member of the European Parliament (Brussels) in the 1990s. I had the privilege to meet him then and he was an extraordinary person. He made it his mission to learn every official European language. I think he spoke 12 languages in all (fluently). He has Jupiter conjunct Mercury in Sagittarius in the 3rd house. BTW I’m also an astrologer with the ruler of 3rd house (Virgo/Mercury) in the 9th house of Pisces (ruled by a Mercury-ruled Jupiter in Gemini in the 12th. My earlier career was working in International institutions (9th house), which is how I met von Hapsburg. The other thing indicated by the ruler of the 3rd in the 9th is that one’s sibling is closer to the father than to the native with such a placement.
