The only reason Helga is so stuck on Arnold is because he was the first person to make her feel like a real human being after living in a home where she was neglected.

I started watching Hey Arnold this year, and let me just say that Helga is the most relatable cartoon character ever. I have parents that act very similar to her’s: they treat my younger brother better, they act really mean and nasty at times, and they believe that expressing your true feelings to someone is a sign of showing weakness. Helga has a very low self esteem and always hides who she really is, and I’m the same way. I haven’t had the guts to tell people that I like that I like them because I’m too afraid of rejection. Helga is such a relatable and well written character. She deserves more recognition

A couple of people in chat didn’t seem to understand why Gerald was GOATed for that. In case y’all don’t understand, he prevented things from being a lot more complicated. Arnold and Helga needed to work some stuff out, but the French chic would’ve got in the way, Gerald swooped in to prevent that from happening. Tho it may not even matter with Arnold and Helga goofy selves, smh.
