@@RobertK1993 here's a little thing, the Irish have only killed forty or fifty thousand Britons tops over the past five hundred years alone but in the 1840s alone we killed off half your country's people and you still haven't recovered, that's how good of a hit it was, so good luck beating THAT score haha.
Surely somebody called “Uisdeàn ÒDhomhnail” isn’t actually listening to this song from a loyalist perspective, you’re more Irish than most Celtic fans🤦♂️

Just to make it clear, this song is not about the Irish in Ireland, it's about the Scottish celtic supporters who have Irish ancestry from 100 years back and are catholics so it's talking about the Catholic church and the Scottish Celtic supporters who think they are Irish eventhough their families have been in Scotland 100-200 years, plastic paddies. It's not about the Irish in Ireland but the decentants of the ones that left.

Love the comments about sectarianism. There was no sectarian element to Scottish football until three clubs, Celtic, Hibernian and Dundee Hibernian were established by Irish Catholic priests exclusively for Irish Catholics. This is what this song parodies. Imagine Pakistani IImmans establishing Muslim only football clubs., there would be an outcry.
That's just historically inaccurate, rangers are the only club that I'm aware of that has a strict "no Catholic signing policy". Celtic has had black players, Protestant players etc at the club since its beginning. Celtics greatest ever manager was a Protestant 🤣 Just because an institution is supported by mostly Catholic, doesn't mean that institution is strictly Catholic lol
Scotland should have been even more like Japan in its attitude towards these Irish organisations and not allowed them in to set up enclaves to do Scotland down like the enemy from within, like the cancerous cells they've inevitably become, Scotland has a strong robust approach though and has never allowed them free reign without a fight. But you can see from the baggage that came with them, what the seeds they brought in have eventually hatched into. No problem was ever resolved that way, you dont import problems to pollute other native/national societies. But if they were prevented from entering in the first place, it would have saved so much problems and bigotry pretty much would be non-existant in Scotland, that's ironically the true way to handle and prevent bigotry occurring, don't allow foreigners with their own exclusive interests in that does not benefit Scotland on a national level.

Are you Irish or Insane? I can never respect the 12th. You could take every sectarian message down off the bonfires and I would still want to knock down every single one. The 12th of July is a celebration of Catholic Oppression. Unionists up the North celebrate the destruction of Irish Culture every year. I will never respect this tradition, this is not culture it's the celebration of genocide and just plain evil. Never trust an Ulster Unionist. They are church going, anti-homosexuality, reactionary, inward looking, and has likely never travelled significantly outside of their local area.

I think what the writers of this song have forgotten is that about a third of famine migration and afterwards to Scotland was by Irish protestants, not all from the current six counties of northern Ireland. Do they really want these people to go back to Ireland , perhaps to the Republic ?
@@MiloManning05 Which Irish though ? Don't forget at the time of the famine Ireland was part of the UK, there was no Northern Ireland and about one third of the people who came to Scotland were protestants.
Orange bugs. Green bugs. All living in the same little jam jar. Getting on with living their little bug lives until someone shakes the jar. Then they turn on each other. Biting, clawing, killing. Never thinking or asking, ‘who’s shaking the jar and why do they want us to attack the other bugs?’ Meanwhile - outside the jar - there’s a whole enormous world - other bugs. Other jam jars. Other people shaking them.

FFS there are people wanting to do the UK harm every day sailing through the Channel. Are we really your enemy? Don't let a stupid piece of religion turn into so much hatred. The invisible man in the sky would not be impressed.
@msmissy6888 is it? I see you accuse everyone you disagree with of "lies". The law was where any native Irish had to leave any leased or rented property equally to any children. Meaning that over time, small holdings were reduced to tiny plots of land barely able to provide subsistence for a family The only pack of lies are what some chose to tell themselves. They they don't teach Irish history in Britain. Facts are a million nominal British subjects died as a result of starvation because the British administration in Ireland under Trevelyan claimed the famine was gods punishment on the Irish and not much should be done. The same who said of the people of Scotland at that time - that on no accounts should they be allowed to starve. The same British government who after barely a year of the famine, passed laws which ensured that those starving had to give up any tiny piece of land they held in order to receive meagre amounts of famine relief, meaning that 100s of 1000s ended up destitute at the side of the road without even the barest cover of habitation to live in. Then if that wasn't enough yet another law passed all responsibility for famine relief the to mainly British absentee landowners, who in turn turfed out any tennants who were still hanging onto to their small holdings. That and the labour schemes where the starving were obliged to undertake heavy manual labour under brutal conditions on the sides of mountains and similar for less than the value of food needed to stay alive. So there's no "lies", rather its disbelief and ignorance of the ethnic cleansing which actually happened.
