Ive just woken up, its Saturday n not even 8am, and gone thru to a CLEAN and tidy kitchen!!!!! Saturday used to be a write off, the kitchen in devastation. Weekends used to be about 30% the length they are now too...most of which I didnt remember. This is why Im doing this🥰 playing the movie forward and seeing these little nuggets of gold happen makes this journey worth the massive effort! 🥰

Thank you for your videos. I can fully relate to everything you said. I'm still in early recovery. Almost 9 months clean and sober. When you pick up or use, you know what you're gonna get. When you don't pick up or use, you never know what you're gonna get. But you might end up with something really cool. Health, happiness, engage in old hobbies and new hobbies. Advance in career and education. Restore relationships. Breaking isolation. Motivation increase. Open mind. Feeling the way we feel reminds us we're alive and well. No withdrawal. No guilt. No more drinking perfectly nice days away. Nothing is easy. One day at a time, we can stay clean. The first 30 days got my mind out of the fog and confusion. Then after 90 days, I had a leg to stand on. I was able to set realistic goals. Accept life's challenges on life's terms. Appreciate the small things in life. Self care and self love. And support other struggling alcoholics. A sense of gratitude. Not everyday is a great day, but it's a good day when I go to bed sober. Ready for work and prepared for what the day has in store.

@@GettingSoberAgain I’ve been watching for the last few days tbh. I’m live in Europe where drinking is almost permanently engrained in our culture. I’m lucky to have support from my friends and family but it’s most likely going to be the hardest thing I ever do. I just finished the video. I love all your storytelling and « ramblings »: it’s more human and relatable than any other sober RU-vid channel I’ve come across in the past. You’ve got a new suscriber and I’ll let you know if the progress if I have time with all the productive stuff I intend to do with my time. Thanks again for your work Jae, from Im sure all of us 🙌

Hey man, Well I survived last Friday. It WAS horrible. Then Saturday was literally the worst work shift in my 28 yrs of working. If something was going to drive me to drink it would have been that night. But I didn't buy any. The next day I called my work and told them I wasn't going to work there anymore. It was so hostile. I ended up basically getting a job the next day..Still haven't had a drink since the 5th. Haven't watched the last two vids yet, been kinda busy...I hope you and everyone else are doing great!

Im 31 years old and I quit a week ago. I was having heart problems and liver issues. and my anxiety was through the roof. (for the 5th time in 10 years(. I started having withdrawals around day 2. by day 3 i was shaking and tremoring all night. i went to the ER. they gave me thiamine, Ativan and pedylite. fixed me up. If i would have waited 1 more day, I probably would have had a heart attack or a seizure. but still a week later I'm suffering from diareehah and insomnia. im hoping this passes soon. i cant live like this anymore.

Your body is probably trying to detox pretty hard. I definitely recommend salads. Seems simple but out digestion has its own nervous system and direct line to the brain in times of stress. Salads are good fiber for the microbiome ( your gut health). Once your more detoxed, you should feel better. Great job for starting the journey.

Struggling hard this week. I'm so sick and tired of seeing people yelling at each other and/or killing each other. The news is absolutely bankrupt and I nearly had a panic attack just trying to cook dinner while my family plays a violent movie on the television so even in fantasy the violence is palpable. I'm currently drinking a cup of decaf Earl Grey with bergamot to try and calm my nerves. I also recommend Organic India's Tulsi Tea, It's herbal and non-caffeinated and calming.

Oh me too, it's like Jae was saying I agree, drinking gets wrapped in with vacations for sure! I've never traveled outside Canada, but I know the temptation would come firing back, even if I was sober for some time. Although, depending on where I was going, I'd be astounded by wherever that was. Maybe check out some sights I'd not seen.

2nd comment. Wow! Great video Jae. Before I loose my train of thought, love the pep talk at the end. I definitely concur. I suddenly have energy coming out my ass again and for a long time I lost that. I starting to feel really good physically. On the flip side some really weird withdrawals this time like yesterday feeling really sick with bad headaches, chest pains and nausea. Thought for sure I was getting the covid from getting groceries but then today? I feel great. So weird. I'm still getting bouts of being irritable too where I just want to rip someone's head off lol!!! But for the most part every day is getting better. Also I wanted to touch on you going to the bar. I mean I think that shows real confidence and emotional strength. I remember back in the 80's oh boy now you know how ancient I am lol, anyway I quit drinking for 2 years and for a while I kept going to the bar with my friends and it was cool. Very strange seeing everyone at last call it was like, whoa thats what we act like this time of night. It was fun but I got tired of friends badgering me and saying you not drinking???? BULLSHIT!!! LOL you probably have more mature friends than I did back then. I started drinking heavily as a teenager and it changed my path negatively. I could have had a career in music but I turned into a party animal and I refused to take life seriously. I'm not saying I regret the past I had a hell of a lot of fun. I'm just saying it could have been different. I think that's all I got today. Again thank you Jae so much for giving us a platform to talk about this stuff. Hope I didn't ramble too much lol!!! Ttyl Jae. Namaste

In the words of the might LZ...ramble on lol My friends know they can't push me around lol. But I can certainly push them around haha. Knowing I have this power, I decided to try to use it for good. Legacy was never a word I tossed around, but I might start having to think about leaving one. Speaking of which, never feel like you're commenting too much. You can only comment too little in my opinion. Stay blessed and thanks for your perspective and stories :)
