Nothing strikes fear into your opponents like winning the coin flip but making them go first!! For all they know you're playing Mikanko and will sometimes play around that deck, sometimes even just passing their turn lol It's going to be a tough season with Arise-Heart around though, but you still have some great cards to deal with them! Thanks for watching
Hi Edy, I've been playing this deck some more, meeting more and more meta decks and it's so fun! Thank you for your efforts and giving branded despia the darklord twist, I love it. I've been running into some issues with cards that are "unaffected by card effects" such as Borrelend Dragon, but that card is stupid OP... I don't think I can play around it.
For cards like Borrelend, Expurrely Noir, etc. try to bait them to activate their effects and then remove them with Kurikara! I know that won't always be the case but if you can somehow bring out TFD you'll be protected from targeting effects and then attempt to wall them until you get the cards to out their board. Remember that you can use Mirrorjade to banish Borrelend or set Albaz to remove Borrelend by summoning Alba-Lenatus👍
Well, Darklord has been always my favourite archetype. These combos are pretty insane, good job Edy :). Probably i'll buy this deck in real life to have fun :)
You do have to watch out for Kashtira Scareclaw + Fenrir since Fenrir can still banish you by getting TFD negated with Scareclaw. Learned it the hard way LOL
15:50 Ez, calculated For some reason I might replace Vivid tail (Fun and unexpected tech, think of it as Ret-time on your list) for Boo-Boo game on my Lab deck, can't really point why... As usual, splendid videos, and hey, even Konami recognize Darklord Branded as a legit mix... man, I need more gems
If it werent for the banlist (within reason) e.g. aluber x3, or branded fusion/opening at 3, etc, not the old always have been and always will be broken yugioh cards. What would be the ideal deck to run so i can determine what are the fillers you are currently running and what are the keepers. I left yugioh for a while now, ive completely forgotten how to play this deck, i have the cards and will rewatch your videos as a reminder for all the brandrd despia stuff, but so much as happened since then itll be nice to know whats changed.
The closest thing to that is my first videos on the channel, but even then there's still a lot of UR. It's a "fun deck" but you'll definitely need to spend the resources to make something worthwhile.
I have 2 questions. 1. What does this deck struggle with or what are bad matchups for this deck? 2. Can this deck go 1st? And if you had to go first what is the best strategy or how would you genetically approach going first? Thanks and keep up the good videos as always
1. Labrynth will be a tough matchup, as well as the random Floow player. They don't summon much and don't activate effects for you to take advantage of during your turn (not as reliably at least), so Kurikara etc won't be as useful. You pretty much need to have a really great hand against them. Stun decks are also a bad matchup since backrow removal is very minimal in this deck list. 2. It can go first of course, I do have plenty of Branded Darklord videos on the channel to give you a reference. The strategy is to make TFD to revive Kristya for an untargetable special summon lock, or to play the grind game with the Branded side of the deck. If your opponent wins the coin flip but lets you go first then that's what you'll aim for. If you can't do the kristya lock then that's when you have to decide what would be best, whether its to simply pass turn (assuming that they're on Mikanko or similar) or risk it and attempt to make a board.
Hey Edy, just want to hear your thoughts. I've copied and tried out your deck for a bit - 10 or so duels. I'm not finding use for Kurikara, wanted to understand the reasoning behind putting it in there also is there any particular reason that you are not running super poly? P.S. I'm new to Meta YuGiOh.
In ranked I’m usually in Diamond or Master so I run into meta decks all the time and that’s where kurikara shines. Kashtira ariseheart has a mandatory effect to activate so if I have kurikara in hand then I know I can out it immediately. You can swap out kurikara for evenly matched if you want it to be used in more matchups though
I'm not sure if there's a "definitive" darklord deck since the meta changes the deck list all the time. This deck list will get me to Master V at least if that means anything to you
@@ՓՓՓ I mean I have made it to master 5 with the Adaman deck before they band block dragon but I have already made purrely galaxy kashtira and darklord but I can only use 1 at a time to get back to master 5 but I'm on galaxy right now but will use darklord as my second,I see you was a top duelist so I was checking different options, but thanks my guy keep the contact coming because the meta changes all the time for noreason lol🤦🏽
@@antwonrichardson9324 Unless new cards get announced for us, Branded Darklord is the variant to play if you want to use Darklords in ranked. So as long as you have general board breakers, branded cards, and Darklord cards then you should be good to go. You can make it into Master rank for sure, but of course it’s not going to be as smooth as like with the latest meta decks etc
You had the cards stacked against you particularly in that first duel. I'm impressed you overcame it with an objectively inferior deck. That other player, though... bothers me. They only know how to play broken decks, and if you pull a fast one on them, they break. Bandwagoners...
Kurikara for sure, Arise-Heart has a mandatory effect to activate + Noir with sleepy memory will activate to draw so you can tribute them. Nib will work on Kash but you'll rarely see it effectively help you against Purrely.
Nice, this is much better than my Despia Darklord list. A few suggestions, if you have any opinions: I really like Gold Sarc as it can banish Tragedy to be yet another copy of Aluber. In Branded you can also run Mercourier who will search Albaz with it. I've been considering Darklord Enchantment as well as Thrust/TTT in the Kash mirror to steal a monster and make my own Arise-Heart. What do you think about that?
Yep you can use gold sarc, I've run that in the past. Mercourier/Lost seems like a package better suited for Branded Despia/Bystial, when I last used it in Branded Darklord it gave me a consistency issue so I personally wouldnt recommend it. As for TTT to steal an XYZ to make your Arise-Heart or Zeus, just know that branded opening/fusion wont be usable that turn due to its fusion restriction. So IMO I would avoid that play for Branded Darklord at least, not too sure how good that would be in regular Darklord Despia since that variant is little less restrictive
Omg... When you think you've seen cancer before, think again. There's always worse than worse.. Kash can almost only be countered if you have some cards related to Kaiju cards and that are similar (Ra sphere mode Lava golem Underworld goddess Kurikara) . The more I look, the more I'm studying to counter the Kash's.
@@Elansworldinc Depends on how often you want it to be in your opening hand. If you consistently want to open with it then have 3, otherwise your plan is to use it every once in a while by drawing into it with maxx c etc.
Wtf is that first game? He make noir and happiness for what? He can just summon another arise damn he doesn't have fast hands losing to time limit with that.
I'm guessing they didn't know that Kash Scareclaw + Fenrir can out TFD and just resorted to ExHappiness to negate my targeting protection, not too sure tbh since I dont play Kash.
The First Darklord is untargetable so they need to get rid of it from other ways. Expurrely Happiness negated it in the first duel so then it was targetable
@@apatheisticbastard Labrynth has card effects that simply say "destroy a card", which means they don't have to target to do that. Non-targeting effects come in different ways like "send a card to the GY" too (Zeus).
