He is a foolish and selfish young man. If he wants so much to go to the US to become a third rated American. Do go, please. We are not holding him back. The problem is, the American government will only taking him in as a political victim. The CIA picked him just to play a character. You should asked J Wong what happened to that two millions pounds of club funds? It is a lot of money. He took it out from the club 's bank account.

It's 'we never kow-tow to China', not 'we never count out China'. Interesting to see Joshua being interviewed by a journalist who has criticised the PRC very little, if at all, in common with his newspaper who covered the Umbrella protests but were careful not to voice support in an editorial. Contrast that with the Belarus protests, where the Guardian jumped on board straight away.

Democracy takes many forms, some clearly different than others. In the US, it is controlled by money - with a right-wing supreme court decision that permits no legislated (ie. democratic) limitations on how much money the wealthy can use to buy candidates, elections, etc. Wong himself has welcomed support from far-right Republicans who visited & used Wong to assist in fighting China's emergence as a more successful society and world influence than the US. Wong did not respond to the question as to his ideology. Does he or his party have an economic and social philosophy & strategy for addressing the needs and aspirations of ordinary citizens & families? His anti-China actions (to the extent of even opposing the excellent high speed train service connecting HK to mainland China) suggests a continuation of a colonial attitude of arrogance & elitism toward the "inferior" mainland Chinese people, a "racist" view held by a sizeable HK minority. Is Wong's Christian background a factor in his sense of superiority to mainland Chinese? Wong has never criticized the violence of HK rioters in storming & vandalizing the HK elected Legislative Assembly building, burning part of the HK Polytechnic University, destroying a metro station, assaulting opponents & damaging businesses deemed supportive of China, closing the international airport terminal, etc. The harm caused by these actions to the economy & people of HK was significant. Can they be compared to what happened in Washington DC January 6? Wong has never revealed funding he has received from Taiwan, the US & other western interests. This is a "softball" interview. Wong warrants a less superficial examination of his motivation, philosophy and prejudices.

I personally know something about the HK under ruling both from the UK and China. I also personally know something about the CCP, both the old and the modern. What and how do you know HK and China? From the anti CCP and Chinese publications? From people like J Wong? J Wong is a chess picked by the US. He paid well for it. He does not have a job but lives well and having a nice life style. Travel anywhere in a car with chauffeur. Spend nights in 5 stars hotel. Ask frequently for crowd fundraising. By the way, please ask him what happened to the £ 1.6million party fund? That is sterling pounds. It is a lot of money to a 22 yrs old. Chinese idiom : summer fly talks about the icy winter. Sorry, you are just that summer fly. Before the ending, I like to say that what I said is all from my heart and from my head. No money involved . What about you? How much do you got paid? What ever you paid. Your is just a peanut if compared with J Wong.

Makes me angry listening to this interview, letting him excuse himself for all the damages happened in HK. Stop using democracy as an tool. Can people just search n look at all the violence in HK this pass year. Man burnt alive, one killed by brick, bow n arrow shot through police leg, did anyone see thousands petrol bombs produced in a university. Have a look at Western police in action before condemning HK police. Let's be fair!!
@jeganv1473
@jeganv1473 4 года назад
Ah a CCP supporter or someone who only uses CCP influenced media. If you actually know the truth of HK and it's current situation from start to present. You'd know this is precisely the fault of the government bringing in the extradition law. Next it's HK Police who were brutal to HKers and journalists from day 1. HKPF's reputation went to the trash when they allowed triads to terrorize citizens in Yuen Long despite calls to 999 and police being present. The lies in their press briefings were also really obvious, immediately declare guilt or innocence. You conviently fail to mention HK police threatening to shoot protesters multiple times. One actually did it. Another HK police officer tried to ram protesters with his motorcycle. I can cite many more. That's how horrible they are. BTW I don't even use Western media for HK news it's too slow. The livestreams are pure and unedited, if you are rational or even neutral, those livestreams will tell you how the HKPF operates, they're effectively terrorists and provoke violent reactions. You use Western police as a crutch yet even though accountability is weak, HKPF has zero accountability. The officer accused of killing George Floyd is fired and the other officers involved will go to court. HKPF did no such thing even for the officer who shot the protester or the one trying to ram protesters with his bike. Based on their manual back in much of 2019 they should have all been liable for failing to use violence as a last resort. Of course having no accountability and realizing they could be accused of failing their rulebook, they changed it to have zero liability and allow aggressive use of force in October 2019. Ultimate blame however goes to Carrie Lam and the CCP. If they did the simple thing like leave HK people alone. None of this would happen. Don't be surprised if people react violently if the oppressor is violent. This is why HKPF is a disgraceful force. It's sad the old corrupt HKPF during British rule was morally superior to the awful force today.

U are angry because you have been brain washed by the CCP. I feel sorry for you. You don't know what CCP have done to China, HK and the world. How many people they have killed and arrested. @jeganv1473
@jeganv1473 4 года назад
@@LC-xg8uu you most certainly have not watched the livestreams. If you truly did, you could never come to the conclusions you did with your first comment. The vast majority of the livestreams and feeds had peaceful protesting or just plain unpolitical HKers going about their day. Then the HKPF showing up, being ultra aggressive, and in far too many cases just beating people because they didn't like what they said. Very few had no incidents because the people either managed to flee before the police and they didn't chase or a rare case where the officer was only aggressive initially. It's disheartening to see HKPF so willing to brandish guns often immediately, a few incidents where the officer has actually been disarmed. If you were actually watching the livestreams you would've seen protesters even if they engage violently refuse to use this gun every time. That's inspite of the power a gun wielding person has. If they were what you claim them to be, then a few would have guns and suddenly the police lost a significant power and can't act all powerful. Sadly the police are so bad that most residents rather not see the police at all because they're always the source of trouble for all involved. Worst of all is some people who didn't do anything also get beaten including those initially supportive of police. When you see children being terrorized on the MTR, and the parents protecting them from police beatings, how can anyone defend such disgusting actions by a force that's supposed to protect them? Trust in HKPF plummeted from most trusted government entity to least trusted with significant disapproval. Carrie Lam's last polling number last year was 8 percent approval. HK is unpolitical for the most part and pro democracy wasn't on the top of most people's angenda. However when a government becomes totalitarian, uses it's brute force to oppress, it's now a part of your life and the government totally refuses to listen to basic problems, democracy becomes the top choice. The district elections were the true show of the actual silent majority. Sadly China now knows it's lost and has clamped down in HK. Now it and Carrie Lam are using this BS national security law to meddle in the Legco elections that they're destined to lose under legitimate means.

It's called activism. The housing problem is for the sitting government to solve, not for activists. He has his own agenda, one that he shares with many Hongkongers and people around the world. Democratic values like freedom and safety are worth fighting for. The ones standing by without doing anything, silently, listening to the poisenous words of the oppressor should be ashamed of themselves. Instead they criticize some one who actually does fight. Incredible 🙄
