Your great grandmother had a very calm yet strong spirit about her. I hope her last moments were filled with knowing she did her absolute best with what she was given and knowing her family are deeply grateful for her love and strength.

This was a wonderful video ! I have read little about the foot-binding practice and the survivors of this practice that are dying, but your great-grandmother lived through so much from having her feet bound to her being a child bride to being apart of the Cultural revolution. Your great-grandmother was strong survivor and wonderful woman to live such a long life in her village in China, but she can now rest without having much pain in her life in another place.

This really touched my heart. Your great-grandmother went through so much in her life, but I can see that she left a legacy of love.

Wonderful video. You should know why this old Chinese tradition is disappearing after watching. My grandma had the same "lotus feet" and I still remember the way she walked me through the crowds.

Excellent! How life is still like in many small villages in China. The funeral footage was great. A unique cultural aspect you rarely see of ordinary Chinese. Thank you Btw... my great grandma probably had iron or bigger.... she was naughty and unbandaged her feet hehe

The truly tragic aspect of this is that the young girls had no say in the matter. Imagine being just four or five years old and having your mother or another female relative inform you that it's time to bind your feet. It's worth pondering whether many women would have chosen to do so if the practice hadn't been so compulsory and prevalent.

Imagine though being raised along side your future husband, it would be like having to marry your brother and having to have your feet utterly mutilated for his pleasure

It makes me sad to think how much she must have suffered with foot binding, how much so many girls suffered, women imposing this on girls....glad the practice was abolished and women could have normal feet. A strong woman and a tough life, but man, 94, she endured.

There is no man in this world, not even God that would make me do that horrid job to my feet, not happening!!!! Us gals in this society, have it so lucky. I feel sorry for the gals, women that had to suffer in their lifetime because of their culture, they had no choice but to obey.

I guess the American version would be bunions. I have horrible toes from wearing spike heels 👠 and pointy toes. My shoe size naturally would have been 10 in American sizing, but I wore size 6 spike heels. My feet are terrible now. I thought my feet were awesome as a 20-something girl. I didn't even care about how beet red my big toe knuckles were from the Western style version of foot binding. Now I am going to have to get surgery. I was such a lame brain.

Must be really shame full of their meaningless brutal customs and traditions

They manipulated these women into thinking it was attractive so they just went wild with it when in reality they probably didn't want their wives to be able to escape and run away easily so they had em thinking it was for beauty reasons 🤦‍♂️
