6:00 Christine McIntyre is perhaps one of the most famous Three Stooges actresses but this was her first time working with the Stooges. Unfortunately she kept flubbing this scene with Shemp because she was fearful of hurting him. Finely Shemp told her, "Honey I have to be honest with ya. Overtime a bunch of small slight slaps start hurting more then one big slap. So go out there and just let me have it. I can take it." Well she did as seen in here at 6:02 and knocked Shemp to the ground. She was so horrified that she burst into tears and asked Shemp if he was okay. Shemp's response was "Honey ya got nothing to cry about. I told ya to let me have it and God Bless ya you did."
His haircut was such that every time he was hit or slapped by Moe, his hair flew forward, adding to the ridiculousness. And he had that stupid, dazed, stunned look at times and the “eem- me- me- me” sound. 😆. Whereas Curly had the turkey-gobbling sound. They were both great!
My brother and I watched the stooges in mornings before school. I'm 50 now but as you see I still enjoy them. And yes those sound effects are the salt of the shows
Larry: Hey Lady would you like to get married? Lady: What? Larry: Get married? Lady: Well I don't know....but you are kind of cute. Larry: Oh its not for me its for him. *Points at Shemp* Lady: Aaaaaahhhhhhh! *Slugs Larry*
Yeah, she screamed at the sight of Shemp’s ugly face mashed against the inside of the phone booth glass, and then with an angry look, slapped Larry...a big slap...hilarious effect. 😆
YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY WATCHING THE THREE. STOOGIES. I GREW. UP WATCHING BACK IN THE LATE 1960 ,AND I STILL WATCH THEM AND ENJOY. TILL THIS DAY AND I STILL SAY CURLY WAS. THE FUNNIEST OF. THEM ALL
6:42 Ah of course the great Emil Sitka! Not only a true friend to the Stooges but an icon of Stooge mythology himself. Today his grave still has "Hold hands you love birds" written on it.
I have been starting my day with a few minutes of the 3 stooges, for about 35 yrs now- And I have no grey hair, no depression and many other NO's. Believe me, starting Ur day laughing Ur ass off will keep you very very young.
Online hardly any 3 stooges. Hulu had 4 episodes. Been years since I watched 3 stooges. One was in my recommended videos last week. Figured I'll watch one. One turned to two, then three, etc. Lol. Then for a few hours I am looking online, paid tv services, local listings! Reminiscing with family about 3 stooges! Glad I did! We were like hey remember in 15 years ago or so we bought that large boxset of 3 stooges. Didn't that get tossed out? Call! What! You still have it! Yes! Watched for hours! Even better! Talked more. Vhs and dvd sets found! Hey remember the DVD-DVR combo and how we recorded every week for over a year straight!? What! Still have that ole set?! Yes! Hours of stooges again! Wasn't enough! Not sure how, who, even when...found old disks with over 100 episodes, all stooge movies, cartoons, even a 3d flick of 3 stooges! Family thinks this was all recorded. Many years ago I was a stooge fanatic and recorded every episode that came on tv! After divorce 11 years ago I lost track of everything! This is the one time I thank god my family are packrats! They never threw any of my stuff away! I been watching literally nonstop almost for days! Feel like a kid again! I busted out all the old equipment!VHS, dvd player, and even had to buy an adapter to play the vhs on our high end tv! Was worth it! Was funny cause the kids were like what the heck is that large box? Said a double decker VHS player recorder! I still have 2 of em!
3:25 you missed the very best part when they took the hat off that guy’s face to reveal he was sleeping with a clothes pin on his nose and when they took the clothes pin off he started barking and making Curly’s signature “woo woo woo woo” noise. And it’s the best because that was actually Curly’s actor who grew hair as he was recovering from his stroke. THAT was the only scene when we saw the ORIGINAL stooges all together on screen
They keep hitting and poking each other the howards and fine family would be proud and laughing always a classic to watch after all these years later thanks for a good laugh appreciate you guys job well done you should be proud to the funniest men ever you made my weekend appreciate you guys ! Joe
Everyone thought the Stooges were finished when Curly had his stroke and was forced to retire. However, Shemp proved that he was just as good and they never missed a beat.
Brian Washington Shemp was every bit as good as Curly. Just different. The two after him I didn’t care for at all and the movies they made weren’t worth watching. Some people are impossible to replace.
Nice compilation of Stooge moments, but you missed just one key clip from "Hold That Lion". That's when Moe, Larry, and Shemp came across one very familiar looking (and sounding) train passenger. Said sleeping, snoring, barking, whooping passenger was portrayed by a relative of Moe and Shemp, one Jerome Lester Horwitz.
My favorite moments: @16:13 - 16:18 when the Stooges' see the ancient car their "friend" Claude sold them. Larry: What is it ? Claude: It's a Columbus. Shemp: Never mind who you bought it from. What make is that? Claude: I told you it's a Columbus. Moe: I thought he came over in a boat.
shemp hay moe where did you get the sun glasses?, moe wearing fried egg on his face. beautiful and wonderful comedy ever. luv u all stooges. moe is noe in sing sing, over again.
Curly was one of a kind. Just a comedic genius! The same can be said for Shemp,Larry, and Moe. But when it came to being slapped, poked, hammered, and doing the curly shuffle no one else could compete. Rest in pieces stooges. You'll forever tickle the worlds funny bone.
