Thanks for your insight and experience. I am not saying this sarcastically, but I no longer want a Can Am Spyder, I do concur with you that it’s probably twice the vehicle of a Harley Trike, but I’ve owned many Harley’s thru the decades and I know them well and you can’t beat the Harley network (dealers and independent shops, thru out the country), so I don’t want service and support issues or basically no surprises. I do thank you for such an informative video. Once again, thanks thank you.

Have a Spyder RTL 2022 . The Wife has a S2S 2023. Both bikes have been great. Also the Wife had a Ryker before the Spyder. Have had great experiences with both sales and service from the dealer we use. Ride safe out there.

Hi! Great content! Would you mind sharing a reputable Can-Am dealer in the San Antonio area? Interested in purchasing but you pointed out that some dealers have poor service. Thanks!

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!🎊. Getting a new CanAm Spyder RTL next week. (from same excellent dealer I bought my last Spyder from). The new display is killer, as well as new reverse functions, LED lights, improved cruise control features. Major improvements over my 2018 RTL. Great advice in your video.

What are the improved cruise control features? I sure like what I have on my 2020 RTL so just wondering what is changing.

@@RideBlessed The mechanism is new. Easier to engage and resume. Also new is you can cancel by turning throttle forward slightly.

Hi RS V2 here, 2011 to be exact. I must have got one of the good ones, it doesn't use oil like you say. Yes, it's getting harder to find parts, but I have a very good dealer who realises there are still a lot of the older Spyders out there in my country. If you're mechanically knowledgeable and have the tools then doing your own service is not hard. Recently I change my sway bar and links to BajaRon, and replaced all the suspension bushes in the front, changed all the brake pads (to EBC), all new tyres. Oh what a difference. There really is nothing wrong with the V2, if you look after it.

I agree. I loved my 2012. The 2014 V twin didn't rev like the 2012. If you can find parts and can do the work yourself, there is nothing wrong with V twin.

Thanks for the info. Test rode one the other day and am pretty close to trading my 21 Road Glide in on one. I can tell you getting parts, fluids, etc. for a Harley is no cheaper. I watched an oil change video putout by Can Am and it looks way less intimidating than doing one on a Harley. I’ve always paid a local mechanic to take care of my Harley but I’d be comfortable taking care of the Can Am in my own garage which would save me some $$$ over the year. Safe Travels my friend.

I am lucky in having a good dealer in Portimao, southwest Portugal. Lower labour costs here. I get the impression dealers in America are often poor. I didn't know the 1330 had hydraulic lifters. Great news. Just been for a run on my 2019 F3-S. I love it. Nick

Just got my F3S in June . (August now ) and now have about 3000 miles on it. Already did the first oil change and changed the HCM (transmission) filter at that time. also put the K&N air filter in it. for what its worth I used the Lamonster garage oil change kit. So far I'm loving it but the very first ride on it I took it out of Victoria, TX down to Orange Grove, TX, close to Corpus Christi. Was 104F.

1. My local can-am dealer, I will only buy from for parts. They also will not work on the older models. They would rather work on the atv's anyway. I have a good working relationship with a shop in Tucson. 2. My 2011 RTS has been fun. Yup, it seeps oil😅 as much as keyboard warriors like to educate me that it shouldn't happen. I just bought a 2015 F3S. I'm loving the upgrade!😁

Thanks very much for this video post. Much appreciated. I live in Canada and I’m looking at acquiring a new Can-Am Spyder. I totally agree with you on the premium aspects of this particular ride. The financial impact of that premium label is all the more prevalent here in Canada, which ironically happens to be the birthplace of the Spyder. Having never owned a Spyder, I assume doing research on dealer maintenance may prove challenging, especially if you have to figure out what questions to ask (and hope they are the right ones). It would also help if you know someone who owns a Spyder. Failing that, I suppose one could look for a Spyder related riding group to acquire any associated knowledge. Once again, thanks for the info. It's time to save up the pennies - not just for the ride itself, but for the (self) maintenance.

I got a 22 RTL last October, did my break in service between 600 and 1000 miles. I have 7400 miles on it currently. It had 19 miles on it when I bought it. Never had an inspection sticker on it. Why? Who knows! Had battery issues when I first got it but after three tries, got a good battery. Just had it in for its oil change service which apparently I was supposed to have at 3000 but that’s not what my manual said. So found out my front brakes needed to be replaced. I do a lot of stop and go riding versus highway. All that was 582 with the oil change, brakes, inspections and putting on a license plate holder. 😑. So that was fun and unexpected
@spyderryder
@spyderryder 27 дней назад
I'm sorry to hear this. I thought the first oil change was 5k. I could be wrong. Brakes at 7k is very early I get 15 to 25k out of them. I hope the next 25k miles is cheaper for you!

Hey congrats on upcoming wedding. Just subscribed today great info about dealers and service. I'm in Austin and there are 2 Ridenow dealers near me Austin and Georgetown and Woods Cycles in New Braunfels, Kent Power Sports in Kyle. Can you are would share any info about those locations. Finally, would you share what tools would a new CanAm Spyder RT Limited owner should have before purchasing one.

His advice - (I agree based on all the research I’ve done and people I’ve talked to.). 1) make sure the dealership is worthy. Sales dept but more impotently the service dept. 2) The 1330 engine is more reliable and better on maintenance than the previous models. Dealers may not work on the olds as often, etc. 1330 is a 9,300 mile oil change internal instead of 5,000. 3) the Spyder is a luxury machine. They are like a sports car as far as fuel and some maintenance cost. Oil change kit can run you around $130-150 doing it yourself. They require premium fuel.

Laser alignments sound cool but are next to worthless. Total waste of money unless you have uneven tire wear. The bike essentially aligns itself. Camber and toe in are all that’s needed…

laser alignment is specifically designed for 4 wheel vehicles it does not work on a 3 wheel. It's a scam do not waste your money on a misalignment as this is the best you will get with laser. I design reverse trikes for a living and have studied the laser system and it is not a good option.
@jeremy8829
@jeremy8829 3 месяца назад
So what’s other option, just do regular alignment at shop?
@endeavortrikes
@endeavortrikes 3 месяца назад
@@jeremy8829 yes the most accurate is a simple measurement on the front than rear of the wheels. 1/4 inch positive. One can even use a pair of 1x6x26 boards which is still more accurate than laser. I did several videos on how this can be done

I’ll politely disagree. Between upgrading the shocks to Elkas and an alignment my F3 rides better than I thought possible. I didn’t realize how much I was fighting against the wheels tracking in different directions.
@endeavortrikes
@endeavortrikes 3 месяца назад
The thing is by alignment all they can do is toe. Laser is not appropriate for 3 wheeled vehicles as it requires one to move the trike which instantly defeats all accuracy. Toe out can cause mild miss handling but in general toe only set tire wear. The best method is still a set of alignment fixtures and tape measures.
