Sheldon doesn't care about money... And at the end him and Howard are friends.... That's why they all hangout together and enjoy each other's company and presence
When the person who wrote the contract doesn't want you to see an attorney about it, that is your first clue not to sign it. Especially when Sheldon writes it as he always puts clauses that benefits himself in it. Just ask Leonard about the roommate agreement.
Howard was legit getting nothing before, also the consulting the lawyer thing wasn't because he actually rigged the contract but because he felt she attacked his ability to make contracts not his motives.
Yeah, I get what you mean about this contract as Sheldon is the worst for only putting in clauses that benefit him and sometimes even actively wanting to disadvantage others as he's still being insulting and disrespectful even after the ep tried to have a nice moment with the money for their future kid.
@@lexigrimhaive Well, they aren't paying them to play with super expensive gadgets for funsies. They support scientists with the hope, that someone's research might actually make some profit. Besides, 25% is actually pretty generous. Usually anything you come up with as a result of the work you are being paid for is the property of the party that's employing you. I mean, by that point, Leonard was a tenured scientist. God forbid his employer actually gets something back for giving him that position.
@lexigrimhaive it would be different if they also worked as part time teachers for university. But if they are only getting paid for the research which may or may not give any result then university should have all the rights
This is when I started to dislike her character. She was only thinking about herself. She didn’t want Howard to annoy her with complaints about Sheldon so she tried to shut the partnership down.
I instantly started loathing Bernadette after this. The audacity to question their friend's kindness to give a fair cut just to get more money while she works for a freaking pharmaceutical company while making above 6 digit salary, possibly one of the most morally questionable career path you can take lol Hell aside from Raj's inheritance, they are the richest couple in the series.
Everyone who saw the roommate agreement that sheldon drafted (especially the new one) and is in there right mind would NOT immediatly sign a contract made by sheldon.
@@mermidion7552 You are not wrong but he is very clear and fair with money. If you saw the later part of the episode, he made sure the payment would go to Howard's kids as college tuition. He can be pain to be live with, but he is always fair when it comes to money. Not to mention amount of times that Sheldon actually used his own money to help Penny multiple times and his friend's lives even. Finally, realistically speaking, Howard does NOT have any cut on the matter legally and realistically. The university clarified that and it only comes down to good will sheldon and leonard giving him his cut. He is grateful, and his wife should too, instead of showing clear sign of greed publicly.
Wow. A contract to tie them up. Wow. Yes he typed it down. Just finished. Some forced agreement about your right to use the university's method. More like a franchise agreement, I'd say. No Jaime, youre not invited to his party. J: LOL. Thank God.
The university pays their salaries to do research projects such as the one they are working on in this episode. They also pay for the lab space and equipment used. Hence, the university is entitled to a large portion of the results.
They get paid an expensive salary to play around with expensive equipment in an expensive building in hopes that they could get something done in a lifetime, so therefore 25% plus 3 salaries in the expand of 10 years plus the many years to come with no other results it's way way more than just the 25%
@@BioYuGiNo, she wasn’t. She was always trying to bring Howard down. He had an opportunity to profit off of one of his inventions and she tried to talk him out of it.
The university has no right to take 75%. If it wasn't for people like the guys, the university wouldn't be as valuable, money making, etc. People donate money to the university because of people like the guys, who earn awards like the noble prize, grants from government, and private donars. So the guys deserve to get more than 25%, more like the guys get 75% and the university get 25%. We pay your salary. If you didn't, no person would work for the university. Howard isn't entitled compensation for his idea? No, sir, the university isn't entitled to earn a dime from other people's work and ideas.
The university hired the guys to conduct research using university time and facilities/resources. They’ve been paying their salaries for years with the expectation that they conduct research. The university is absolutely entitled to a large portion of the earnings. 25% for the guys is actually unrealistically generous. In real life using university time and resources to make scientific breakthroughs would entitle the university to the fruits period. Unless some contractual agreement was reached beforehand that would spell out who got what. When signing research grants this is almost always spelled out ahead of time.
I work in patent law. This is the way things work in the real world. The reason universities and corporations employ scientists and engineers is so they can come up with ideas that will generate revenue. At least the guys owns part of the patent. The corporations I work with have their scientists sign over their rights completely and give them a bonus for every invention they come up with.
Leave it to women to cause drama between guys. Always with the drama....which is why they rather watch women tear each other apart on the real housewives shows instead of supporting the wnba.
@danizelikman1688 the point is the same as he made it. It doesn't need to be copy and pasted. Fyi, it's a joke but it's the truth. You sound like a soyboy, emotional woman, or a troll. 😆
@@danizelikman1688 I don't need to do a joke word for word for the point to be made....and it was made if you got the reference. Man, stop nitpicking.....like a drama girl yourself.
