Just commenting this here before I watch as I think it every time you play a pauper Self-Assembler deck: playing a Power Plant Worker over something might be useful so the last Assembly worker has something to get, and PPW is an okay threat on it's own in a tron deck. Not sure what it would be over in this deck specifically, maybe one of the spites? Love the pauper content, keep being awesome.
This is an older version of the deck. The updated stuff plays with campfire to recycle your self assemblers over and over again. PPW might be interesting tho as a 1 of.
@@QuesoDipp what version do you recommend? I'm currently swapping towards the candy trail, maelstrom Colossus, bitter reunion version to try it out. Before I was on the basic list bosh played with lembas over filigree familiar.
I really like 1-2 Firebolt in Rx Tron. It deals 4 damage at the same rate as Rolling Thunder, but it has some flexibility in being able to split up the damage over multiple turns when you're still trying to assemble Tron.
I think you will love the Pos MH3 Grixis Affinity, Refurbished Familiar and Sneaky Snacker are absurd. Sac Sneaky Snacker to a Deadly Dispute/Reckoner's Bargain and immediately bring her back... It's just obscene
I also play Mono Red Tron in pauper and running just 3 of power plant and mine is completely normal for this deck. It is mainly a mono-red control deck and much less a traditional big mana deck
18 lands in tron is only fine if you're mono-Green tron simply because you play like 4 maps, 4 syvlan scrying, 4 ancient stirring, which are effectively like having an additional 12 lands Other colors need to play at least 20-24 as you're much slower at getting tron assembled.
There should really be a Tron cycle videos - where we just ... visit all the colors, since we already have Blue and Red - Need Black White and Green Trons
I think that caw/cat gates deck is really hard to sideboard against. Do you want more removal? Graveyard hate ? Answers to counters? If so that's a lot to pull in. Don't know what the right answer is
Part of the reason I've settled on playing Jeskai Ephemerate was being sick of losing to Cawgates when I was playing Dimir/Izzet Terror, Cleansing Wildfire on their Basilisk Gates shuts the deck down quickly.
Great first round! I think if you counter the lorien revealeds, you can grind through with the monarch. The way you win that game is by having a board while they're out of creatures, and lorien represents ~1 threat and ~1 piece of interaction.
Love seing the pauper content! It has been my main paper format for a long time! (this is mostly to drip feed info to get @BoshnRoll more excited about the format and play more) - Since there are already many sweepers in the deck, the side-grade finisher tech is Kaervek's Torch which is single target fireball with "ward 2". With the increase interaction as mentioned this has become more common. (not sure what matchup pyrite spellbomb is for, but would probably run 2-3 torch, 1 thunder in the main, and 1-2 more thunder in the board for the big creature matchups). really cool deck! I may bring it next week!
