New Hampshire here. Stage 4 mantle cell lymphoma here. I went to drs for a year and a half before anyone would even seriously test me. I had a swollen lymph node in my neck( it hurt like bad strep), major hair loss. Anemia(i was seeing a blood doctor weekly for infusions) my blood work didnt show anything. Then a finally got mad night sweats And exhaustion. But I have 3 kids and ran it all day. I was treated and streeted probably 100 times . They gave me zpacks, and antibiotics , told me to gargle with salt water and sent me home. I finally did research. Figured out I have lymphoma. Then I just kept changing pcp's until I found one that would believe me and test me. I found that miracle Dr. He laughed at me and said I was too young and patients don't diagnose themselves, but he would do the test to make me feel better. I went for ct on my neck. They were calling me before I even pulled back in driveway. Scheduled biopsy next day. Then pet scan. It was EVERYWHERE. EVERY ORGAN. They said, they don't know how I was alive and functioning. Started chemo next day. Walked me I to hospice like a week in. I yelled at them to never bring me in that room again. I have 3 kids and I am not dying and I walked out. If you do NOT feel right!!!! Advocate for yourself.!!!! I had a less than 1% of getting this cancer. It is usually elderly males that get it. Temp remission here. They said the longest I could live was 2 years with treatment. It will be 5 years in November. Cancer scans next month to check for sure. ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF!!!! Isn't it crazy Tia how us moms are so use to exhaustion that we can still run on empty for months if not Years?? Glad you are still here!!! Warriors!
Sorry u went through that. I got high white blood cells been over ten years now. Had doctor tell me if u haven’t got it by now most likely wont get it. Most of the time u don’t diagnosed until your stage 4 with leukemia and they don’t treat it until its stage four. I’m not sure with Lymphoma how early they can treat it. Ya and treatments for blood cancer so much better now then they ever been. And some of the research into blood cancer found it helps treating other cancers. My mother who is 84 got diagnosed with Basel cell skin cancer. The fast spreading type they gave this new type of medication that’s in pill form . It’s one of best treatments for her type cancer. Doctor told her it already looks like healed no cancer cells can be seen. ❤they more new break throughs. And more doctors need to more educated in blood cancer symptoms
This is my first time watching you. Why were you in the hospital for 31 days? Your attitude is great. I was diagnosed with CLL a year ago and watch and wait, so lucky. After a cancer diagnosis your outlook on life changes. I look up at the blue sky and sunshine and realize how beautiful it is. I have let go of things that have happened in life that caused deep unhappiness and depression. You are beautiful inside and out. I really admire you.
