Finally a review that talks about issue of the compass being removed! I was so upset when I updated it and got a still compass app!!!

I have the 3. Over a year now and works fine. Software was an issue, but got an update a few days ago and much better.

Nice and detailed review. I had very bad time with the watch tho. Got the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra in February as a workout watch (was only mountain biking back then) and I gotta say, it was a mess. The GPS was OK on the watch, but when transferred to the Mobvoi phone app(and then to Strava), it would actually show different, it would sometimes show me 300-500 meters away of the location, and then give wrong elevation. That was driving me crazy. The speed I was riding my bike was different on the AMOLED display and on the FSTN display, very strange, both processors were providing different info. Started running after a few months, and the info was completely inaccurate compared to my buddy's Garmin. It finally "died" when I went on a vacation during the summer, probably because of the hot weather, it started boot-looping, I gave it for servicing, the shop didn't fix anything, they just kept giving it back to me saying it's working as it should, at one point the 2nd processor stopped working and the FSTN display stopped with it as well. Also, the watch was promised to get WearOS 3.0 last year, it's still on WearOS 2. Strava stopped supporting activities recorded on WearOS 2, so this watch is useless if you're a Strava user. Got the new Garmin Forerunner 255 and I haven't been happier. Basically, do not get this watch if you're planning to use it for sport. Video on my channel of it working like a potato.

Was thinking about picking up the TicWatch E3 later this year. You're review has definitely convinced me to go ahead and purchase it. Also have to love the jokes at the end.

I just bought the ultra on Amazon during the Prime Day sales for $90 off. I don't need LTE support, and nor would I want to pay monthly for service for it either. With Bluetooth 5.0, I can leave my phone on one end of the house and be outside on the other end of the house and still stream audio to my bone conduction headphones on Bluetooth 5.0, and I'll never leave the house without my phone, and I'll never be separated farther from my phone than when I'm at home.

Good review dude. Liked how you touched on all the important points. But I am now more confused if I should upgrade to Ultra from my current Pro 3 GPS :)

I had the ticwatch 3 ultra 4g, loved the features and the dual screen. But the watch just up and died on me. Buttons would stop responding, I turned it in after reading I wasnt the only one. Got myself a Galaxy watch 5 pro, and loving it! A shame they focus so much on features, they forget to make a watch that works.

Yea I have the Fossil Gen 6 and love it, thinking bout picking up a Tic Watch also. Waiting for Wear 3 is painful.

NGL, you had me at the end. Wish you had spoken about the IP68 rating, as a good percentage, close to 10%, have had water damage issues. The other thing is when a brand gives sub optimal replies, it's usually a sign to stay away. Thought the 5 pro should be interesting with battery life.

Also after seeing this and other things I am thinking about buying the pro over the ultra and the GW4 as the extra cost doesn't really seem worth it to me. the functionality of wearing a watch on the wrist of your non-dominant hand is to minimize cosmetic damage on the watch and the intrusiveness of it in daily tasks. with a sports watch however, their designs are slim and indestructable enough to not really warrant following that rule. it's entirely valid for you to wear this one on your right

I’ve noticed that people use all the features “they never use” when using an Apple device because it works well. No stutter no pause. You won’t even notice a tik.

Just chiming in about the qi wireless charging on the Ultra as well. It doesn't have it. Just tried on a couple of wireless charging to make sure.

Lol leveling up in call of duty. I really am enjoying mine. Although... It takes time to get familiar with. The other minor annoying thing is the initializing time of the mic when using voice commands. I also prefer native look over the mobvoi launcher. Glad they allowed a choice. Ditto on not allowing removal of native apps.

It's almost 2023, and still no WearOS 3 update. Looks like the Pro 3 isn't getting it.

Here we are now Aprul, still no update to Wear OS 3 and Mobvoi. Why would we buy the new model if they dont upsate anything?is avoiding answering questions

I recently picked this watch up and have enjoyed it greatly. I only charge it every 2 days or so and I don't even have to that's just what I do lol. I will say I don't like not being able to remove the Google fitness apps, I have zero uses for 2 different sets of fitness apps that do the same thing, just let me use the mobvoi ones and move on yk?

Hey Barry, THe Ultra doesnt actually support QI wireless charging. You have to use a propriatey charging puck.

But definitely have nothing to worry about with these...they're solid. The twp3 isn't gorilla glass like the ultra...but it may as well be...no difference. Still solid.

my fiancé uses this and he is really enjoying using it though he does run out of breath telling people the name, "Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS" aint a product name, that's a damn essay other than that and it's 57mm diameter which is too big for my wrist, it's a really good product from what I'm told

i'm heavily considering getting the ultra as a replacement for my original ticwatch pro which has served me faithfully since 2018. only issues so far has been the wristband which broke around October last year, so basically 4 years of daily use. and bigger issue of the charger thing that most likely has died on me for the second time after around 2 years of use on both chargers. now it took me around a week to get from 2% to 100% of battery, but the battery does still last around 2 days on the smart mode. so i don't think that the battery is thruly the issue here either. only usage issue that i have with this watch, is that it takes maybe 30 seconds to the watch to boot to the wear os, BUT! it takes around 10 minutes until it is somewhat usable and i can input my four digit pin to unlock it. and that bootup if done without the charger, will take somewhere around 5-10% of battery charge with it. ant it is that initial boot that has made me think of updating to the ultra, instead of trying to fix the charging issues with 40€ 3rd party replacement charger. maybe if i could get one locally, but i would have to order one through amazon usa warehouse to my european address. so it would take LOOOOONG time until i would know if it fixed the issue or not. but if i could get a watch that lasts me 4+ years like the OG pro did, then that 250-270€ price isn't that bad either.

My gripe about the watch is the battery life isn't longer. I personally would like it to be at least 5 days of battery with heavy use and maybe 7 with light. Not the day or day and a half it currently has. Charging my watch every other day gets annoying when other smartwatches I see do the same as the ticwatch and also have at least about 6 days of battery life with heavy use. I would love to purchase another ticwatch but they need to massively improve the battery life of the watch.

The Pro 3 Ultra doesn't have Qi wireless charging, it only has a proprietary charging dock

I know this is an old video which was great but do you know if the pro or the ultra can be used like a Garmin watch, as in you can use a map in it.

August 2023 and still no sign of Wear OS 3, although the watch functions fine as it is...

I got my ticwatch pro sometime in 2018 I think, and it just started to have issues. so I'm deciding between the ticwatch pro ultra and the pixel watch. Probably will stay faithful to movboi lol

what about updates to the software

They can actually store Mp3s too! Just don't over do it or it slows right down...but you can get at least 20+ songs on them till you should watch it's memory

When wear 3.0?

Not gonna fall for it. I fell for the hype back in Ticwatch E. THAT WAS THE MOST PAINFUL EXPERIENCE! But sooooooo many people living the PRO 3 everywhere! I may pick one up on black Friday or boxing day if same is good. 😆 U can disable/delete apps with ADB commands

For your last point...as a fellow righty who wears his watch on his right wrist, I'll probably just stick with a Samsung watch for now. I've tried getting used to wearing a watch on the "correct" side, but I just can't do it.

Barry you just have to disable the tic apps, thats all, and they wont appear in the menu. like there is a literal writeup for this on XDA

I got the ultra gps 3 and couldn't handle it with such low battery life. Got a Fenix 7x sapphire solar and this watch will work for 14 days and has allllll the good stuff

I can be honest, because I have paid for it and none send me it for free, this watch is amazing on the paper but the software has a huge amount of randomic bugs unsolved and a lot of exemplars of the watch come out with hardware defects, in fact, after 6 months I should send it back because after swimming in a pool it started rebooting itself continuosly and when I managed to bring it back to life all the sensors didn't work and the battery icon on the external screen was permanently blinking despite was fully charged. A very big disappointment!

So can you take this watch out of the country, like the Caribbean and connect it to a phone, like Samsung maybe, and would it be able to make calls? I'm confused about these watches. I almost bought the galaxy 4 but I started doing my research because I heard the battery life sucks. I really need help figuring this out. Got the 3 for gpay. Due to tattoos it constantly asks for a unlock. My phone gpay works with the screen locked no idea why someone thought I need a lock code on to use gpay its not like the watch has my card details showing inside. The touch vibration is also an annoyance. If i could remove or bypass the pin option i would keep it but as it stands its useless for me so its going back. its a shame its a nice watch

I mean the name is a mouth full but it's clear that this is a better version of the Pro 3 so you don't have to Google the differences. Also the ultra is only like $10 more than the pro 3 right now due to a sale.
