ooo this is a great video! The tight rope girl (Sally Slater) is my fave stretching portrait in the mansion. She has a unique design to her, and its also iconic. I remember from doom buggies's website that was named once Lillian O'mally Gracy. I am glad that she finally got a name to stick to her.
I love her so much, I went as her for Halloween a few years ago. I always headcanoned that Melanie from Phantom Manor and the tightrope girl as the same person, because of how they look almost identical (as well as the painting of Melanie going down a waterfall in the old Phantom Stretching Room.) I also headcanoned that April December was her cousin who I dubbed Francine "Frankie" Cooper-Calibre.
@@finland4ever55 Oooo! that's neat and very interesting on the lore to Sally Slater. hehe Melanie does had a bit of a resemblance to Sally herself on the old portraits. ^^
I’ve also seen a version where Captain Hook and Tick-Tock appear in place of the girl and the gator. Another version features Sally from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas in her place.
I was dress as her for Mickey Halloween party maybe 2017. It was so kool. N i have a painting of her and the other lady on the tomb and Elizabeth hanging in my bathroom.
Because in the new story, Melanie had more than just the one intended suitor (Jake, the railway engineer, who was lured to the rafters & hanged by The Phantom in the original story). She now has had multiple deceased suitors (whose pun-filled names all harken back to how they died, with most of the incidents [sans Barry Claude getting mauled by a bear] being obviously orchestrated by the cackling Phantom, of course) and the noose originally intended for Jake (whose hung body is removed from the attraction, even if the image of the leering Phantom holding the empty noose remains) is now meant for the guests visiting the attraction, given the fact that, rather than Melanie's corpse leading the way to safety & the mirror at the tail end of the attraction being filled by the final image of The Phantom jostling your Doom Buggy, the new ending of Phantom Manor has a crypt filled with the bodies of Melanie's past suitors (with Barry Claude's skeletal hand sticking out of it holding a wedding ring to indicate that, even in death, he accepted Melanie's marriage proposal) meanwhile Melanie's ghost would inhabit the mirror instead, with her asking us if we would marry her, even though she's long-since been dead herself, in large part more than likely driven to madness by her wretched vengeful father Henry Ravenswood AKA The Phantom (whose English narration was done by longtime horror icon Vincent Price, alongside his chilling laugh).
@theamericanshepherd5378 Well, that her current real name is Sally Slater and she's not evil or a witch, just a kind soul that was met with an unfortunate accident...
