"Tikverőzés" is a century-old folk tradition in Moha, Hungary. Once every year, exactly on Shrove Tuesday the local villagers dress in handmade costumes and they smut with ashes the people and animals to bring them luck and fertility. Their duty is also to chase winter away.
The Tikverőzés was listed on UNESCO's Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2011.
