OMG! It is gorgeous I need one. I've only been shooting for a month and I'm already addicted much to hubby's annoyance as it means he can't spend as much on his equipment now. Seriously though it is a beautiful bit of wood.
Nice video Jim! Very beautiful bow! Great job! :) By he way, I'm also looking forward for the Bear Grizzly review! I bought one and I found it just amazing! :D
Yay! I got mine today after a very long wait and looking forward to shooting it tomorrow. If felt lovely when I tried it in the shop, I just need to work on my technique and I'm sure it will be great. 😁😁😁🎯🎯🎯🎯
I am lucky enough to own a Black Douglas a Bodnik Mohawk and a Cottonmouth , these are all amazing bows but I just can't put the Cottonmouth down. The feeling is just perfect, it's love. shhhhh, don't tell the wife.
hi Jim, great video. I'm a target recurve archer & have become obsessed with scores so my shooting suffered, one of our traditional archers recommended shooting trad to put the fun back into my shooting, so I popped down to Merlin Co Durham & tried the standard cottonmouth, I was totally blown away with the it shot so I'm picking one up in a couple of days along with a set of timbercreek premium arrows when my kind employer pays me lol. want to say a big thank you for the videos & advise, keep up the good work 🎯
Congratz on the bow, both models look very, very nice! I think you have the right to be proud on your contribution to this. Wish I could try one out as i'm still looking to buy my first own bow but a trip to England is a bit to much I'm afraid! 😁 keep up the good work! Cheers
looks like a great bow, would love to get one,I better start saving up some pennies(unless fancy doing a swap for a nice handmade knife ,Ha Ha). Cheers Jason
keep up the videos mate, could you please someday just upload a video like in the old times on the other channel? just some shooting? i am practising for instinctive with my new bow fo about 3 weeks now:) ( hit the paper atleast hehe )MerlinArchery
Got one on order - very happy about that. I do have a question - is there any difference between arrow choice between this style of bow and a standard recurve? Been shooting carbon arrows exclusively.
why is it when you think you've got all the bow you'll ever need some "numpty" comes along and tempts you with a beautifully made & designed bow... clear off Jim I'm broke 😜
What max draw length would this be good for? I'm currently shooting ~31" on my Chek-Mate Recurve, not sure if this would go that far or would it stack?
You mentioned not needing silencers, but just out of curiosity what silencers do you recommend and where could one purchase them? The bow looks great by the way.
I don't know if you'll see this, but I'll ask anyway...how do I figure out what length of arrows I need? I'm not shooting anything special, it's 62" PSE Razorback 35lb. I'm pretty new.
if you like this bow so much how come you dont have a review on the slick stick or quick stick? seem very simular, agressive reflex deflex, bamboo in the limbs, around 60 inches
I am looking at getting a Timber Creek bow, however I do not know which one to purchase. Are you going to be doing a review of the Cobra and the Viper any time soon?
Very beautiful, artistic bows. Thanks for the review, You do excellent work, It would be good if You could include a couple of still shots of them, respect.......Seven Thunders
Huge fan Jim, have really learned alot from you videos. I would like to enlist your expertise for a problem I have been having, though. I started traditional archery about a year ago, and learned on a Samick Sage and had since purchased a Bear Montana. I do like montana more, it feels more comfortable to shoot, and I know you're big on that and the other two "C's". Well I am trying to tune it and learned enough to understand that I don't think my release is consistent. I know thats an issue, especially with trying to bare shaft tune (which is what I prefer). Here is my problem, How do I know, once an arrow is hits straight, that it is an actual turned arrow if my release still needs practice? Bluntly, how do I know my arrows are turned if I am not consistent with my release, but how do I know my release is consistent if my arrows aren't tuned correctly?
+William Wicks If the bare shafts are hitting straight, they are the right spine for that bow. If your release is sloppy (or if you move your bow arm) you just won't hit the spot you're aiming at perfectly dead on. Try not to think of your release as an action. Just let the string go by relaxing your drawing hand and the forearm all together and let your elbow come straight back. It will help with being more consistent.
Jim I love the video and I am extremely interested in getting one of the bows. I am however in Colorado, is there anyway to get one in America or sent here etc? Also any idea on when they will be back in stock? Thanks, I love all the vids!
+MerlinArchery that's great thank you for the response, I will be watching with interest. I'm assuming there is a dollar the lb conversion in the checkout then?
Is there any version of the bow that has carbon/bamboo, 68" length and around 60#? Very good looking bow, seems like it has a great handle. :-) Edit, just saw thats the viper that got 68".
+Johan Wiklund We looked at adding carbon, but it pushed the price up a little to high with out adding much to the performance... If your looking at a 68" you might want to give the Viper a go. but its isn't reflex deflex
+MerlinArchery Ok, thanks for the answer. The reflex deflex is a must for me and the length of the bow both for stable shooting indoors and rules requirement.
Hey Jim...I know you get a lot of requests for the Bear Grizzly...any chance though in maybe doing a review on the Bear Super Kodiak Dymonwood, and Ragim Black Panther / White Tiger?
+MerlinArchery There isn't a preorder process by chance is there? If not I'm going to be lying awake at night with a credit card in hand afraid to miss this batch too. I need a right handed deluxe in 45 or 50 pounds to fill this void in my life.
Neither actually, Due to some complications I ended up paying a bit more and I got the Bodnik mohawk hybrid t/d instead. Really really fast and smooth I was actually overdrawing because of it. Very forgiving, shoots where you look and very comfortable handle.
Oh thanks. Because I was looking around on the site and only could find info about the UK (I'm probably a bit blind haha). But thanks for the reaction! :D
Never mind...I've read where they are splitting on people after just a few weeks of shooting...plus you can't get anyone to respond to you to even ask about buying one. No thanks. I'll stick with Bear.
I was immensely disappointed to learn on the website that this beautiful bow doesn't ship outside the E.U. After having the privilege of shooting one that my friend owns, I was all psyched up to buy one for myself, then was instantly let down. It's like promising your child candy and then snatching it away from their fingers.
+lucian epperhart Google currency converter is probably your best bet to find out the price in dollars... But we have more coming in all the time. We have stepped up production on the cottonmouth :)
