Forgot to mention that Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid were both hurt during series vs. Nuggets... Those two players could easily have taken Wolves over the top on the two close games the Wolves lost and the series would be 3-2 Wolves lead

Against Denver last year in the First Round, Minnesota were missing NAZ Reid, Jaden McDaniels, and Kyle Anderson. Some of the better defenders on the team and good depth that was missing and we still took the Nuggets to 5 with most games with winning margins of 5 or less.

Should be mentioned that Naz and McDaniels were injured during the Denver series, which at the very least would have pushed the series to 6

Wolves were the Nugets toughest opponent in last years playoffs. It took a season for the Heat dream team to play well together when LeBron went to Miami. My main worry with the Twolves is being able to keep up this defensive grind all the way into the playoffs.

Look I’m glad you guys made a video but when you mention our defensive personnel outside of Rudy and don’t even mention NAW I know you don’t watch the wolves seriously. 3:47 Dude is a top 15 perimeter defender in the league and has been our Jaden relief pitcher in every way. Does the exact same job, and did a great job on SGA and Murray in last year’s postseason. Everyone is still sleeping on the wolves. Let's not forget that Mike Conley is one of the most underrated point guards in the NBA and utilizes Rudy Gobert to the best of his abilities. He is the head of the snake. Tim Conley the GM has constructed a very lengthy, talented team. It's not just the starters, the wolves have one of the deepest benches in the NBA, if not the best, if you have watched every game since the early 2000s you understand how much this means for Minnesota Fans. Rudy Gobert is healthy and playing back at his defensive MVP level. Towns who was once the only real threat, is the third best player on the team. Anthony Edwards is becoming a superstar before everyone's eyes. Jaden McDaniels is one of the best defensive players in basketball and can score 20 a game when needed. Naz Reid wanted to stay in Minnesota because he knew how awesome this organization was, and how much the fans loved him. Alexander Walker is amazing at defense and spreading the floor. Kyle Anderson could be a starter and knows how to run the point. We also added shake Milton and Brown JR, who is really coming into his own. Look out for Luke Garza when he finally gets minutes and Josh Minot, Leonard miller, Jaylen Clark. This is the most talented roster the wolves have ever had on paper mixed with veteran leadership, pure talent, and great coaching and ownership. Also to everyone that says the Rudy Gobert trade was a bust for all those pics. Who knows if any of those will work out. Also, to people that say the wolves will crumble against smaller teams in the playoffs. This is a completely different team than Utah with the best overall defense and top five offense. The idea that we traded 3 starters really ignores the fact that all 3 players, while beloved and still capable of value, overperformed what could be expected the year before and the team was in the play in. That squad was fun but to keep them around would have made last year completely non competitive

By getting rid of Pat Bev, Vando and Kessler they were able to acquire SloMo and keep Jaden McDaniels. Basically, you gave away four first picks in the 20-30 range for a DPOY. It wasn't a bad trade, just one that most "experts" pan because they don't appreciate defensive players.

I love Vando, but 3 solid bench players, 1 end of the bench player destined to be cut, 1 rookie, 1 swap, and 2 additional picks to keep arguably the best perimeter defender in the league in Jaden McDaniels (to make a total of 4 picks) for a much needed skillset and the single biggest contributor to their early--and seemingly sustainable--success isn't as lopsided as fair-weather casuals seem to believe it to be (not just in terms of results garnered but also with respect to the balance sheet). Keep in mind that this deal was swung before the newest CBA agreement was put into place and thus should be contextually examined, for the sake of fairness. Conversely, the Cavs gave up 1 bench player, 1 rookie from the lottery, 1 fringe All-NBA player (although this wasn't known to them prior to the trade), 2 swaps, and 3 picks for a fantastic yet somewhat redundant player (given Garland's skillset). It's beyond odd to me that the trade made in the wake of the Rudy deal isn't dissected with similar fervor.

fwiw, KAT was not "in trade rumours". There was speculation *outside* of Minnesota if the Wolves should trade KAT, and some of it probably seeped into Wolves reddit. It was never in play from the team perspective (definitely not this offseason) and no offers were made.

If you watch the wolves against the nuggets last year they were leading most games by 20+ but the coach never called a time out when Denver was heating up! It was coaches fault we lost to the nuggets but we could of easily beat the champs last year tells you that we are going to kill it this year and the wolves can smell it!
