As always if you want to watch the unedited video you can find everything here on my second channel ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qeMn11EiYkI.html
Hmm. You’re still coming in fresh. Your impression is always going to be better on your first play through. The original RE4 changed the gaming industry and was easily the most influence on other games than any other game - that’s why I think the OG RE4 cannot be beaten. But!! This is an amazing remake and excellent sequel to RE2 remake.
@ProGramm4R I'm more of a fan of the classic REs, survival horror. I remember playing 4 as a kid and thinking the game was great, but it ruined the franchise because it was now an action game. The remake did a good job appealing to both the survival horror fan base and action one imo. You're right though, I still need to play professional. I'll probably get S+ in everything too then I'll have my full judgment of the game, but I definitely enjoyed this more than any other as of now
@@vultrex1839 RE4 is the reason resident evil even still exists. because the camera wasn’t awful is that why you think it ruined the franchise? or was it the fact that the boss fights were actually fun?
i actually think it will be after i’m done playing it. the gameplay is great. plus the camera is better, Leon’s faster, plus younger/newer players don’t have to deal with tank controls. they don’t bother me, but the modern day controls are better as they should be.
This may sound weird but I’m very happy they actually used a small engine like a Briggs and Stratton for the boat engine noise, given that in the real world it most likely would have been a 5hp Briggs engine. I’m so happy about this small detail
You wanna' know my favourite thing about this playthrough? How much fucking fun Bawk is having. It's honestly infectious, and I was already loving the hell out of the game. All the best chicken friend!
I love how difficult this game is. It's glorious on hard-core, perfect balance of on your feet and fair. Can't wait to see professional and using costumes etc.
the description for hardcore is bait I swear lol. This game doesn't play like the og exactly and I think they just wanted to throw og players off. Not a bad thing at all though.
That cabin fight is intense at all difficulties. My favorite part about this game is that they don’t stack you with ammo, you always have just enough to get through a section and if you’re not careful with it you have to become clever and find other ways to fight
Just saw the whole play through on Shirakkos channel but been waiting for Bawks. Let’s do this. The long awaited RE4R. Gotta say it’s a superb remake. Possibly game of the year.
Die hard resi fan since 1995 and I gotta say : this might be my favourite remake - if not my fave resi game. Resident Evil 2 was my favourite for the longest time as well as the remake for it but I gotta say this game is unbelievable.
noone gives a fuck about OG RE fans because they didnt make their awards and $$$$ on us, they made their money on RE4 so make sure this one goes off well
@@PiranahKill RE2 Remake was GOLD imo. This one too. RE3 suffered greatly from the team experimenting with ideas of itemization and challenges etc, which I think came to fruition in Village's unlocking / challenges system. I f*cking absolutely love it ngl, and in this remake (RE4) they seem to have perfected this.
I had to do family stuff all weekend so never had the chance to sit down and play myself till this afternoon, gonna avoid the stream until I beat my first playthrough but gonna treat myself to these vods up until my current save point. Thanks for separating it all into sections Bawk
just bought your plush, looks so cool, I think im gonna wait to watch this vid until I complete the game myself, but I wanted to say I love your content and attitude man, much love
had to beat this first before watching but def enjoyed watching you. i felt everything you felt while playing this like omg look at how this looks again and expecting for certain pieces to be there that werent there and saying but it was there in the og version lmao. what a great game i cant believe it was this godly
Just finished my Hardcore playthrough today (took around 30-35 hours or smth and I coulödn't get all treasures etc. sadly) and saved more than 70-80 times and was stuck 2-3 times due to the difficulty, but omg, so glad I managed to do it and it was WORTH IT. Looking forward to how well it goes for you and ESPECIALLY your reactions. This will be a treat! Also looking forward to your possible speedruns, Bawk. Tyvm for your content and once again sorry the RE3R discussion in your chat lately came across as hating on it/complaining. I just explained the 2 different studio stuff (Studio M Two or smth, iirc). So hope that clears it up since it bothered me and made me sad and frustrated when you got mad at me and the other person in chat and I couldn't resolve it or explain myself D: In any case, I hope you enjoy this run so much! It is AMAZING, I kid you not :D Ah, also regarding the lack of sleep; same here with RE4R. Waited all day for it to release, then an hour till it was installed, then played it for almost 28 hours straight (to the chapter before the last one) and still had all day from the rest I still had to do in that one playthrough the next day :D I did get up, drink and eat etc. though, so no worries. Never did this before either, but this was special :) Hope you catch up on sleep the next days. And ah, there, you said smth about RE3R as well :D (I don't mean this seriously, btw). But yeah :(
I'm still playing on my normal difficulty run for my first playthrough. I'm gonna do hard-core next time on a new file. Do you have any tips for when I do a hard-core run?
@@BENNY_MAC Hey and choosing Normal/Standard was a good call, imo :) And no need to do Hardcore on a new save file, btw. You can keep your weapons and stuff for it here unlike in the OG. If you really want to do it on a new save file, I recommend these things, though: Have a ton of saves, collect every treasure you can and sell them for maximum price you can (means, waiting for the last big gem or blue and yellow small gems when you got them and making use of the 3 or all color bonuses), explore a LOT, shoot enemies in the knees or head often and use melee, use the shotgun mostly on parasites and groups of people when wey are close to you, always have a little bit of shotgun and rifle ammo with you, esp. shotgun ammo, stay where Luis is in the cabin (same corner and stuff) and work together with him since it helps a lot and use melee on the enemies when he enables you to(!). Novistadors are easy with an upgraded gun like the Red 9 (only 3 hits up close for me), be really mindful of WHEN and WHAT you craft, esp. in the castle, try to make use of explosive barrels whenever you can, also don't be afraid to run away back to the start of an area during a fight (there are some points and rooms enemies can't follow you to), have flash grenades ready for specific rooms (Gloria Las Plagas etc.), upgrade your knife to full ASAP, same goes for the damage of the pistol you plan to use for most of the game, don't be afraid to sell weapons, even upgraded ones, for cash, if you need to, don't use healing items unless you absolutely have to. Also PRO TIP for the castle catapult section - after you climb up after bringing the canon up, you can hit 2 of the 3 catapults with explosive barrels next to EACH of them and immediately take them out that way(!!), don't be afraid to use grenades on some enemy groups either, take your time with some areas (better to get through it efficiently than lacking ammo later on), don't be afraid to die 2-10 times in an area, if you need it and have to use a RL on Verdugo, it's no shame (I had to as well), but that makes it impossible to ue one on Salazar later on, sadly, BUT you can easily learn his pattern and run around that one elevated pillar on one side of the room and occasionally hit him even with a gun and it should be alright after 5-7 minutes (I was low on ammo, used the sniper 4 times where he spawned and stood still for a bit), then used the gun, then a few shotgun shots when he was exposed, then a knife stab prompt as finisher and kept doing that. Regarding the Island; walk around shield enemies when you can since their shield sucks in every way and attacking from the back is best. The ball room doesn't have endless enemies, btw and that goes for other sections. You can get rid of all enemies there. But new enemies can spawn or be spawned when you back track later on for treasures (esp. in the castle). Also, use the mouse on Regeneradores for aiming and try to be a bit closer to them for easier aiming, but be really careful there. Eggs and vipers and fish are an easy way to restore health as well. Also make sure you bring your health up wtih yellow herbs quickly (or you will likely get one-shot by a simple thing often later on - luckily didn't happen to me, but it would have otherwise). And as for Rocket Launchers; I sadly had to use one on Saddler at the end (I collected everything in the battle area, though). Tried to beat him the normal way, but he has a crapload of health, sadly. I'm not sure if any of this is helpful, btw, but it's all I could come up with and remember atm and most of it might be obvious, so I'm sorry about that. But in general, there's no shame in starting a NG+ on Hardcore ;) But be prepared that it's REALLY hard regarding having ammo for specific sections and boss fights and you can die immediately sometimes. I for my part loved the Striker for enemy groups, the pistol for Novis, the Lab machine gun (you can buy it later) for small stuff like knowing enemies down that stuff Ashley had to operate, sometimes even kept knifing enemies down ladders and executed them (stealth and the bursting parasites) whenever I could. But I don't think my brain can come up with more atm, even if there is. Wish you a great run and you can do it! Patience and really mindful ammo and resource use is needed for sure. Good luck and success, Benny!
Sorry Bawk, but when you upgrade the bolt thrower to higher damage and higher ammo capacity, it definitely comes in handy, big time!!! And it saves you alot of ammo for all the other weapons since you can reuse the bolts instead, over and over, after killing enemies. Give the bolt thrower a second chance.
Resident Evil virgin here I'm LOVING this game so far! In the past, I've always quit the RE demos n stuff within minutes but I forced myself to take time to acclimated to the system and I can see why people hold these games in such high regard.
So glad i was able to play it on time on release day, just beat it few minutes ago, omg so fcking worth it, 10 out 10 for me, i enjoyed this remake the most out of them all, and will be doing more playthroughs non stop😢
My brother recommended this channel if I want to watch re4 playthrough and I’m glad he did. You are so good at this !! The parry and your aim is immaculate !! You’re playing the way how Leon suppose to be.. 👏
For people that don’t know, the weird buffer in harpoons he’s talking about is just because he’s pressing both buttons. It says for some reason to aim and throw use both buttons, but you can throw with both also. It’s odd.
I'm on chapter 13 rn and re4 is my favorite game of all time so when re4r I was hyped an it finally came out and lived up to all the hype its definitely a 10/10 Edit: just finished the game ♾️/10
I just can’t wait to see your reaction when you come across the little chicken farm. So far only watching up to the part I’m at, the fight with big boy right after the church key. This game is god tier… and yes the dog does help wink wink
hey Bawk, just wanted to thank you for not running mid rolls every 4 minutes on your vods. I have watched other vods for newly released games in the past on yt and it adds soooo much time to the watch length of the video. I eagerly await pt 2.
I was deliberately isolating from watching the lives/discussions online for the past two weeks (since I wanted to avoid spoilers completely). Now that I have completed my fourth NG+ runs (with just a few trophies left and knowing pretty much all of the secrets/easter eggs in and out), I come here again to immerse into this series of videos and see Bawk's reaction/first playthrough. It's like giving me the experience of playing the game debut again!
That hexagon puzzle was a nightmare for me, mostly because I screwed it up so bad before I realized it. Then just as I was about to give up, I got it completely by chance. This game is seriously so much fun, I am enjoying the heck out of it!
hello mr bawk, i just wanna say thank you for always making these videos of resident evil and to show people that casual games could be cool too, thank you again for making these videos to accompany me on ramadhan :)
Only watching the first two hours for now cause that is all I've had a chance to play. Wanna see how much better back did on his first playthrough vs mine 😂. I also wanted to say that I appreciate the fact that the game touched on the trauma of the events of re2 for Leon. Nice little touch I thought.
The cabin was very tough for me. It wasn’t until I realized I needed to go back downstairs to survive easier that I beat it. Nevertheless this game has been awesome so far
As a response to if it plays well on a controller, playing it on the PS5, the feedback you feel from the controller in response to your actions is phenomenal. Made the entire experience stand out even more!
This game fucking rules. I don't even have nostalgia for the original. I beat it for the first time a few days before the remake came out. I loved it, but this game is blowing my mind.
Man, I died so many times in the village trying to kill both Salvadors (Hardcore). The best try I killed the one keeping the gate, and when i spent a grenade and 3 slugs, the rang bell and I was like :_)))) PS: the crossbow is the 2nd best weapon, after the knife. Man, this weapon has allowed me to save a lot of ammo. PSS: max knife's durability ASAP. It is cheap and doubles its use.
@@和也兄貴 my problem were the grenades. I had two and I killed 3-4 ganados with each one. I went berserker XD. Now I am in chapter 14 and got some practice (via death & load autosave XDDDD).
Stopped my play-through for a bit today to take a break, but last thing I did was finish the first Krauser fight and hit the save point after, excited to continue playing, game has been awesome so far minus a few things here and there that frustrated me.
3:25:02 in this area, you can literally just run to the merchant at the bottom of the hill and they won’t follow you after a certain point. Better than wasting ammo.
I beat the my first playthrough on hardcore. Was a ton of fun, got really challenging on some parts. I will admit I did use the skull shaker but it was so cool I just had to use it. It was still super hard though. Starting a new game on professional now, and I’ll use the standard guns
Currently at the castle on my playthrough and will have to avoid getting too far ahead on here. I have been thoroughly enjoying this remake. This feels more like a remake akin to how they did it with RE1 remake. Still basically the same game, but freshened up and with new things that either: don't detract from the original story and/or retell situations in a much more practical way. I wish my vacation was extended so i could pull in more all-nighters for this
@@stephenrusso6019 I'd say I'm not 100% used to it yet, but I don't struggle like I did in the beginning. Modern movement controls in games often feel heavier and I'm not much of a fan. My main issue with this game (which is more of a me-issue) is I constantly forget there's a parry mechanic lmao
I finished the game yesterday. I took my sweet time because I wanted to look at everything, the areas I mean. And I must say, this game is a banger. I give it a 9 out of 10. There are some things I don't like about the game, but it doesn't affect my opinion of the game as a whole. I still think this game is an amazing remake. I'll tell you some of the things that bother me: #1: no incendiary grenades. #2: Adas voice #3: they cut some iconic rooms like the gauntlet room with the swinging axes, the lava room with the dragon statue things. Again, these reasons do not affect my opinion of the game overall. It's a masterpiece of a remake, and I'll be playing it for a LONG time. 😊 Im about to start new game+ to see what it's all about lol. Then I'm gonna try Professional mode so I can get S+ rank. Oh and the best part! I can finally watch your first playthrough of the game now that I've finished it and nothing will get spoiled for me!! 🐔💜🤝
The first rare charm I got was a Striker charm which increases your running speed... Get it? GET IT?! Haha in all seriousness I wish they'd gone all the way and named it the Ditman charm
Im still kind of amazed at how people saw that things were moved around in the game from trailers and stuff but were completely adamant that the dog not being in the demo just meant that they were gone completely. It just couldn't have been moved somewhere else, no, impossible, it MUST be gone because yes.
@@jesusleyva4386 They've made so many improvements... Only things i'm missing are fire grenades, and U3. But if the leaks are to be believed, U3 became a Separate Ways Boss, fingers crossed it's true!!!
