It's always harder for kids who have parents that don't watch wrestling. Fortunately, my dad and grandpa watched wrestling so I got to watch plenty of PPV's growing up.
you’re halfway lucky, not as expensive but wwe is pure trash now. i wanted to watch the old Wrestlemanias (23,24 etc) and stuff like unforgiving 06 or royal rumble 07 and never could. but it didn’t matter the free shows were great every week for me🤷🏽♂️
I accidentally ordered WWE RAW in Spanish on demand for $40 something bucks. I got told I couldn't be apart of my bowling league for a month because it was $10 per bowling day. All my friends roasted me.
wrestlemania 20 is literally the only ppv my parents ever bought for me when i was a kid and i had to literally begggg them and im so glad because that was the technically the last great wrestlemania, wrestlemania 21 is a close second because technically it started the next generation with john cena and batista becoming champion respectively.
I've been there as much as I know that feeling I ordered wrestlemania 24 without my parent's permission and got into major trouble where 7 year old me vs 22 year old me thought why the hell did I do that so I can relate to this
I did the same thing I when was 8 WrestleMania 24 with out my mom permission my oldest brother slap me back of the head I started crying I took the blame for my brother I went downstairs sitting down for for hour my mom say you better do that again next time ask you better ask me with out mommy permission I give her a hug I said sorry momma say go upstairs watch WrestleMania 24 I was happy as fuck I'm that I'm older now you already know black parents can't afford nothing I realize it worth it I was a big wrestling fan growing up 90s baby what a hell of struggle as a black kid
My mom's good freind would buy every PPV and she would drop me off there every morning because she had to work, and this is like 3 in the morning. I was in 1st grade for Money In The Bank 2011, so I saw the show and all my freinds didn't so I got to tell them "Punk won". My Mom's freind passed away in 2014. R.I.P. Chuck
Ive done this before but with Girls Gone Wild 😅 haha it wasn't worth the ass whipping I got when the bill came 🤣 My mom laid the SMACKDOWN on my candy ass 🤣
Bro I did the same exact thing with Judgment Day 2004 😭😭😭😭 it’s embedded in my memory as the first ppv i saw live booker t vs taker … then a few later my mom beats my ass for buying it 💀
Bro, this is so relatable. As a kid, you want to watch everything and you’d do anything possible to get what you want. Honestly, I don’t usually condone this, but you did the right thing here as WrestleMania XX is a classic ppv for sure. That ending with Benoit and Eddie is still emotional to this day!
Bruh I can relate too when we got Directv I ordered like 2 ppl my dukes asked if I ordered it I said no I didn’t and she was like it clearly was purchased from my box 😭
Bruh I can relate too, I remember I accidentally ordered Elimination Chamber 2011 and I was like "oh shit". My mom freaked out while my dad told me not to do it again and watched the pay-per-view with me. Lol
That was such a bomb ass show, I was a broke ass welfare kid, but for whatever reason I remember getting Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and Mania 27 on PPV from my dad because he was a lapsed fan and that was like the best three months of my life. I wasn’t even allowed to stay up til 8 to watch Raw or SD but I loved those shows on my DVR. Edge and Ziggler at the Rumble with the Spear banned was a classic.
Haha I did this exact same thing ranging from Survivor Series 2010-Elimination Chamber 2011, and that was around the time I started watching WWE weekly lmao
I did the same for TLC 2010 I was the biggest kofi Kingston fan he was in a triple threat he lost and I got a ass beating then my grandpa felt bad and watched the show with me
2004 Pav: "Purchase successful." 2021 Me: "Nice." 2004 Pav: "I went to the next channel." 2021 Me: "Wait-" 2004 Pav: "I go to 303, 304, 305-" 2021 Me: "S T O P ."
I used to catch Raw on Telemundo six days after it was originally aired lol. I was fortunate enough to speak and understand Spanish so i just watched Raw in Spanish lol.
I can relate. After 98 I moved in with my dad who didn't have cable, so the only way I kept up with wrestling was video games, and the local radio station morning show. They had a segment where they would recap raw on Tuesday. Then some time in 2002/2003. I was going through our 4 channels we had. Some times 5 or 6 depending on the weather. I came across wrestling. I figured out that it was a weekly show, and would watch most days in black and white, and through major snow on the screen. At first I didn't know it was wwe. As we where well out of the stations viewing area. Some time later. I'm watching snl, and during a commercial. I turned to a local station to see wrestling at like 1130 on a sat. It was the same program I have been watching in a snowstorm and in black and white. After 4 years of not seeing any wwe wrestling. I was able to see it. I was do happy.
I had cable off and on growing up so smackdown was always what I watched more than raw as it was during the times I had cable I was able to watch raw so that was why smackdown has always been my show and not to mention how they would recap raw on smackdown with the raw rebound.
If I could've figured out to order the ppvs I would have lol never had one l, always had DVDs months later or saw it at someone else's house, dark days😂
I’ll never forget when I ordered Backlash 2002 in front of my mom, she was busy on the phone and I told her I got It to work! Just for a week later for that bill to come and she whopped my ass! 😂 😂
I was nine in 2000, I remember the hype for Summerslam and the first TLC match. I was a huge Hardy fan and absolutely had to see it. There was an elderly couple near us that were family friends and I asked if there anything I could to do to help out for some money. I was helping them with stuff until the sun went down and when I finished they straight up gave me the money for the PPV. Greatest summer ever.
Yo facts 🔥 I remember back when I was a kid I wanted to see who would win King Of The Ring in 2006, so I asked my mom if I could buy Judgement Day. This one time she said yeah, and it was a dope experience. It my first time watching a PPV live. Also, I feel as though you had io (optimum) as your cable provided back then like me, lol.
That is so awesome my first PPV live was actually the Smackdown PPV after that The Great American Bash 2006. I remember wanting to see the Punjabi Prison Match, Batista return (he was my favorite as a kid) and Rey vs King Booker (hoping Rey retained). I remember enjoying the PPV and it could be nostalgia but I still enjoy it today.
Bruh I can relate. This was my first and best wrestlemania imo. I watched this live from the UK on sky sports aged 15 and had and went school the same day after staying up until 4am! Legit cried when Eddie and Chris hugged. I'm British born Indian so I can relate to the way my parents use to react about ppvs lol especially my mum. #Asianparents now I'm older i can pay and afford ppvs but ironically now I don't like the product anymore. How sad
@Shadow_The_Hedgehog2010 ive never heard of slapping your kids as discipline. Spanking yeah, but slapping no. The way he described it, they slapped that shit out of him. No love tap or anything. That's abuse. Regardless of what he did.
@@kennywilson5422 Exactly. Way past illegal where I live and thank goodness. I grew up to be a diciplined, well adjusted person and all I ever got was the lightest slap on the wrist my Nanny could possibly muster XD No trauma or deep rooted fear of parents and authority figures necessary. That Pav is a tough kid.
My parents couldn't afford it all the time. I was lucky to order 3 ppv in total my whole life: vengeance 2005 great American bash 2005 (regret it) , and royal rumble 2006 Wasn't until I discovered live steam thanks to the internet . Some how I randomly discovered a live stream of no mercy 2007
Pav I can guarantee you when you told your dad about inserting money into the cable box, he had to hold back a laugh. My parents admitted to me that whenever I said something stupid as a child they had to go to another room so I wouldn't see them laugh.
I related to this story so much. I got cable canceled in my house for doing something similar. In 1993, my house gets cable in January. I wanted to see WWE pay-per-views. At the time, WWF held 5 PPVs a year. Royal Rumble, WM, KOTR, SummerSlam and Survivor Series. In April, I ordered WM with my parents knowledge, my stepfather ordered boxing that was on that same month. Later that month, WCW had a PPV. I decided to order the show without my parents permission. When the bill came that stare came towards me and I knew the jig was up. WM was $40, Boxing was $75 and the WCW PPV was $30 that was $145 plus the normal bill of $100. Add taxes fees the bill was like $300+ dollars. My parents said you like ordering stuff unauthorized....they canceled the cable. I did not get cable again until I moved out and got my own place after college (no lie). My parents were strict as hell.
I grew up poor, so I never had the opportunity to watch a WWE PPV event. I wanted to watch Wrestlemania 24 with all my heart. I feel like that was going to be the best Wrestlemania ever. Now as an adult I order UFC fights whenever one of my favorite fighters fight. It’s expensive, but it’s worth it. Whenever I have kids I want to watch PPV events with them.
Yo, I had to beg my parents to watch WrestleMania XX lol. I was 8 at the time. I was so hyped for Undertaker vs. Kane and the triple threat World title match. There was no way I was gonna miss Mania. Thankfully, we watched it together as a family 😬 I’ll never forget that night.
Watching WrestleMania is a must-see, especially if big time matches are on the card. And since Pav didn’t finish WrestleMania XX, I wonder which match did he watch from that event before his mom told him to go to sleep. If it’s Lesnar vs Goldberg, it’s a-ok but if it’s the Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle match or the triple threat main event and the finale that won’t be talked about anymore or even the return of The Undertaker, it’s awful
I bought Summerslam 2006 without my parents knowing. I was really excited to see Hulk Hogan vs Orton, DX vs the McMahons, Ric Flair vs Mick Foley and of course Edge vs John Cena. Thankfully my dad didn't really get pissed he just told me "If you do it again, Your ass is grassed." My dad was pretty laid back but I knew not to do it again cause he did kick my ass if I disobeyed him after he told me not too.
Thankfully I got almost every PPV. I even went to Armageddon 2004 in Atlanta. Dad was also a wrestling fan. Well.. mainly an Eddie Guerrero fan. I always told him Eddie was wrestling and it got ordered. I'm sure dad knew what I was doing and ordered it anyways because he sat down and watched it with us and had a blast.
Oh yeah I done that too. I saw the Wrestlemania 30 on demand in Time Warner Cable and I want to watch it thinking that it was free because it didn’t show the price in it. So long story short my parents got mad at me and made me pay with my allowance. It sucks but at least I saw Daniel Bryan became a undisputed champion
Unlike you, I found a way to finesse the system. My parents had satellite, and the receiver box would have a card inserted in it. If you removed the card in the middle of renting something you wouldn’t have to pay. No slaps for me 😂😂😂 only bad thing is that you could only do that so many times before your rental limit is maxed lol. I eventually paid for a few PPVs when I saved up my allowance.
Remind Me Of The Time When I Was Able To Get Wrestlemania On PPV Same Thing You Did I Did But I Ordered The TNA PPV Once My Mother Saw The Bill She Looked At Me Thank God I Had To Go To School That Morning 😂😂😂😂
Hey pav just wanted to let you know that while I haven't been into wrestling when I did this and therefore never ordered a wwe ppv (or a ppv in general for that matter) I have ordered movies on demand without my parents knowing and eventually my parents knew I got in trouble myself but I wanted to let you know that I've been there man.
I remember my parents ordered me wrestlmania 20 I got to invite some friends and one of my cousins over, it was fuckin awesome!! We ordered pizza and wings and had a great time
I remember that WrestleMania. It was the first PPV I ever watched. Growing up in the 90s you couldn't order it through the TV you had to call the cable company to order it and I knew my mom wouldn't do it so I never asked. I remember watching this WrestleMania because I found out the movie theater showed all the WWE pay per views and we're charging like 5 dollars a ticket. I jumped on that chance. I remember I had just turned 18.
My step dad worked for a TV company where he always carried PPV boxes and regular cable boxes so I got a lot of WWE PPV’s for free. First time I learned to fap was watching them PPV boxes sneaking down stairs when everyone was in bed. 😂 Good times!
My uncle was a fan of Stone Cold Steve Austin. A die-hard fan of the Texas Rattlesnake. In 2004 he invited me to his house to watch WrestleMania XX with his daughters and my godparents' son with me. The day WrestleMania XX was aired live at MSG it celebrated its 20th Anniversary since its inception all began in 1985. It was history in the making. My uncle had direct TV or an old school ppv wooden box like in the old days, remember? So it was the upmost WrestleMania event ever without question. We were rambling what to watch. My uncle wanted to see Goldberg vs Lesnar with his idol serve as Special Guest Referee. I care one thing and that is to watch the return of the Undertaker in classic deadman form and defeated Kane, the man who buried his own brother at Survivor Series months ago. Not to mention the entire spectacle made me invested even more and more. So I arrived at my uncle's house at 6pm I think because days before the event it was announced its special start time at 5pm as well but it was actually at 7pm because of Sunday Night Heat special on Spike TV. It mattered for me the hype, the spectacular moments, the grandeur, the greatest if not the most awesome WrestleMania XX of all time. Of all the WrestleManias I've watched either on ppvs, dvds, and even on mobile live streaming I say WM is by far my favorite WrestleMania no debate.
Luckily in India pay per view was never a thing they used to air all the content related to wwe on the cable tv itself not live but it usually used to come few days later coz back then wwe didn't aired their shows live here in India it started after 2015 so we had raw on Thursdays smackdown on fridays and then it went to Tuesdays and ppv's on monday.
Bro this is relatable as hell! And wm 20 was the first WM ppv I ever got stoked for so I had all sorts of nostalgia during this, thanks for the content man, love your channel!
I never had cable growing up so I definitely couldn’t order any of the ppvs, had to wait a month later when the dvd came out lol. Hell I had to watch raw on telemundo to get caught up on everything. At least I got to experience the greatness that was Ruthless aggression era Smackdown tho so I’m not complaining
Lmao I remember watching SummerSlam 90 when I was 6,I had friends over and I was acting up,being a dick..etc I remember I really wanted to see Texas Tornado vs Mr.Perfect, for the intercontinental title Well just as it was supposed to come on,my mom sent me to my room and wouldn't let me out the rest of the ppv Lmao I was kicking screaming crying,I heard all my friends hollering and having fun It sucked 🤣
I think the big think when I was young was waiting up for the rare Saturday Night Main Events, usually came on at 11pm Had to sneak around or watch it with the volume off
This is my new favorite Pav video, this was so relatable and funny. I’m a bit younger, and my deadbeat dad would spend his money on pay per views now and again, I vividly remember Great American Bash 2007, my dad and I cheered Lashley and my mom and my sister were for Cena, classic main event. But my first pay per view I ever convinced my parents to buy for me specifically was Ring of Honor Global Wars, it was right before Bullet Club got huge in America, it was so sweet. I also remember TNA Hardcore Justice 2010, the TNA/ECW reunion show. It was a lackluster show but as a kid I thought RVD and bald Sabu was the coolest shit ever.
LMAOOO bro I remember the next day watching Hardxore Justice on some random file sharing site. I was soooo excited. Just to see all of the ECW guys so fat and washed up. A bald Sabu and man I was just disappointed lmaoo🥺
@@WrestlinGifs dude, the match itself was some prime ECW ‘06 stuff though, it was sweet, bald Sabu and chubby blonde Raven live rent free in my head. That Dreamer/Raven match was horrible too, Tommy bled in the front row in front of his kids and his wife for a one night gig, come on bro 💀
Bruh something like this also happened to me. But with wwe games XD So uh. Story time with veaeli: So basically I was scrolling into my xbox 360 shop, at the time I was a huge ass wwe fan and I wanted a wwe game so much. But I never got one...but while I was looking at the shop I saw wwe 2k14 available at the shop. At the time I wasn't exactly a genius with money so I just saw the tag price and I was like. "Hmmm...must be just a weird thing, but it must be free am I right" And the game was like more then 100 Brazilian reals maybe like 150 (you do the conversion dumbass) and I simply clicked and bought it (don't remember how, probably wasn'teven confirmed by the credit card cause I didn't used) and I was just waiting...and waiting....and nothing, so I was like "meh, must be taking long cause it's a big gane" Days heck even weeks later I completely forgot that I bough the game. And my dad looked at the buys of the console because of the online service and there he saw it...wwe 2k14 waiting for purchase My dad was genuinely pissed, even if the game wasn't actually bough by I tried to explain it but after a lot of discussion (and physical discipline from my dad) he felt bad for me actually...and actually bough the game I think my dad was the happiest man at the time for actually buying the game for me for some reason. And days later I got the game! But I remember the story with shame cause I did such a shitty thing XD But hey, 2k14 is absolutely legendary so it's over This was story time with veaeli, now go back to watching PAV
Wow I can feel it! But I was lucky af! In my country to see live WWE And PPV you had to buy Sport channel package (you couldn’t see smackdown or raw without pay) and it was like 40$ a month. But my dad was ok with it because he knew I’m watching it at list 2 times a week and he got to see any soccer/ football game he wanted so I’ve seen all the ppv from 2005 until 2011
Even though WM20 isn’t good in my eyes but I respect you and your a legend for what you did! I did the same for WM23 and WM24 lol! Wrestling was everything back then!
