I remember this in your earlier videos, Jerry Zimmerman and Frankie G sit downs were my favourite. It was so cool to see you in Sydney Australia Michael. God bless. Paulie
That's what I call a true friend, here in Brazil we use a slang for that kind of situation, the slang is: JUMP IN THE BULLET, FOR SOMEONE. Jerry's a lucky guy, loyalty its so rare in these days.
“If you put him in the hospital, I gotta put your brother-in-law in the hospital“ Literally pure gold. I will never stray from my growing up tough in North Bergen NJ.
"...if you put my guy in the hospital...I'll have to put your brother in law in the hospital. What are we doing here!?" For the life of me, I can't understand why a movie hasn't been made about this guy!! 😂😂
Wow that is some very high stakes negotiation. Clearly it took lots to have the experience to get to this level but wow! I know I don't have this kind of experience.
Could listen to him talk all day… I grew up in the neighborhood where he ran things… and trust me that neighborhood was safe because of people like Mr Franzese
That was ballsy Michael. I'm sure I'd have never thought of lying and contradicting him like that on the spot. And to be smart enough to offer the car. Jerry had a hell of a friend. Do you ever miss New York after being so much a part of the city?
Yeah, you might have lied about hearing the whole argument, but this Genovese capo and/or his brother in law might have been lying about what was said as well.
That’s awesome 😎 made me think of my dad he would do favours for friends with there cars make them a deal or just help out his buddy who was in a Jam for a case of cold beer and they would hang out in the garage lol awesome story Michael your awesome 😎
Every time I see this guy he reminds me of my Dad, loo wise. Everything else reminds me of my Uncle who used to stand all the time with his hands clasped together when ever he was not shacking hands or doing something.
Hey, thanks for your comment! This is a cutout from one of the old Michael videos. Our wine team are big fans and we wanted to share our favorite stories and snippets here on this channel.
I wonder if Jerry smartened up after that good scare he got. Even when you get upset, if you’re at work, you’ve always got to keep it professional. Goes for car dealers also. You fly off the handle and get down to somebody’s level and start swearing at them, you never know who you’re gonna piss off. If you keep things professional with people, it usually keeps them from getting personal. People get a lot more dangerous when they take things personal.
Great video Mike. But I was wondering, that guy sounded pretty serious and angry. Dont wanna imagine what he would've done had he found out down the road that you were lying about your friend. Could he have had justifiable reason to come after you later?
I imagine he probably did believed his brother in law when he talked to him again but it's his brother in laws word against Michael's and I think they're not allowed to call another made guy a liar as that's serious.
Seems like a lot of times in the mob your right hand man woulda been like “rules are rules” then boom your dead. Takes a real man with real morales to go at bat for your friend and make sure his life is spared.
I'm curious, what would the protocol have been if jerry would have mouthed off at the meeting? Would have he just been left there for them to deal with?
High Micheal Terry Moogan here in California Shaun Attwood told me you live close to me. I did his show in London liverpool bank robber to the Hollywood Butler my book comes out in December on amazon. We had same situation with a partner they wanted one of the gang dead. I said no. I saved there life. he was not worth it. we gained big lump of cash instead then went to Hawaii not jail. all the best Micheal. Terry Moogan.
A long time ago My uncles and cousins were in that life. I never got involved because if you’re asked to kill your best friend you gotta do it. And I’m not a murderer.
The whole you only get to be introduced to a made guy by another made guy sort of thing, is that a mafia thing or something else? I ask because I've heard the same idea with other mafias.
It's built on mutual trust and vouching for other people. You can't go into a criminal organisation and expect to be met with open arms if there's no one in the organisation who is trusted by the established members and with enough rep to vouch for you. The induction part is not unique to the Italian mob, the Yakuza and the Russian mob have similar practices I believe. However, a criminal organisation needs some sort of vouching system based on trust if it is to last more than a few years.
A lie told to save someone's life certainly qualifies as a good lie in my humble opinion. I know telling tales is not ethical but sometimes the truth can be more dangerous than a lie. Is my best friends wife cheating on him? Of course not because if he learns that she is he'll probably top himself. So I'm going lie to ensure he never finds out
While I despise rats with all my soul,..I was under the impression that he never ratted ,just left the life for California after taking a plea,..but come on son,you know damn well you'd fold like wet paper in that life,..Especially being a whitebread not from Brooklyn ,
