Yeah of course he quit acting like Johnny Cash...he's been other people/characters since then.....like dude wouldn't have been such a good Joker if was still being Johnny Cash 🙄
Imagine being a random famous actor out of many hundreds and you hear Johnny Cash requested that you and only you could play him in his biopic. Honored yet terrified.
My mother drove limousines in Nashville at the time of Johnny cash's death. She drove Joaquin Phoenix to and from the funeral, said he was very quiet but humble and polite however on the way to Johnny cash's home after the funeral he opened up and told her amazing stories. She had always loved Phoenix and was among her fondest memories until she passed
@@NOTCOLEADA read again, I’m pointing out the fact that just because of that comment he’s already judging his decision on not subbing or even giving it a simple like… not saying he’s right nor wrong just making an observation
I love Johnny Cash as a performer and human being, and Joaquin Phoenix “hit all the right notes” in playing him in “Walk The Line.” I believe that was Joaquin’s most memorable and well-developed part as an actor. A fine, fine performance in an excellent film. 🎬❤️🎬
Nobody can match him and the most sorrowful song I ever heard was him saying I hurt myself today just to see if I could feel, Idk all of his songs but everyone knows his best
You mean, an Oscar. I agree 💯. I didn't understand how Reese won an Oscar for June. I didn't think she portrayed June accurately, but Joaquin was spot on, phenomenal!!
My mom grew up when JC was huge. Her dad would resurface to come watch him on TV. When the movie came out she went and was going "he looks so young, how did they make him look so young?!"
I was fortunate enough to meet johnny cash at a concert he was a remarkable man Joaquin had some of his moves like the way cash would pause then back away from the microphone
I know I noticed that too and how Johnny would just hold his guitar kinda like it was hard to hold or something youknow what I mean lol Joaquin did an amazing job too ❤️I love him also 😍👍❤️❤️❤️ Awesome job Joaquin 👩🏼🦱✌🏼😘❤️
Phoenix was the best actor to play Johnny cash. I loved the movie. Sadly cash never got to see the movie. RIP JOHNNY AN JUNE CASH . YOU BOTH ARE MISSED DEARLY.
When the producers gave Johnny a folder with pictures of who they thought could play him. Jim Carey,Hugh Jackman,Tom Hardy and Paul Walker.Jonnny said not a thing against them boys but I like the guy in Gladiator. He ain’t a pretty boy.He looks like he’s been round tha bend a few times.
And Halle playing Dorothy Dandridge and Denzel playing Malcolm X. All should have gotten Oscars. Demonic Hollywood chose to give Denzel the Oscar for playing a gangster and Halle a whore. Keep us on our places, yes yes demonic Hollywood
Mr Joaquin Phoenix portrayed Johnny Cash very exceptionally well he should have received a Oscar for his performance Mr Cash no other actor could have done a better job 👌 one of My most favorite movie ever!!!
Joaquin has shown his talent in movies. I think he underestimates himself and then turns around and ego goes to the opposite of the spectrum. Like John Malkovich sorta I guess!
He did the damned yhing. He also did a really good job with Crowe in GLADIATOR... " AM I NOT MERCIFUL"... THAT WAY HE PUT INTO THAT ONE LINE WAS INSANE.
This clip was about their meeting and how Johnny chose Joaquin to play him in the movie…quite an honor by anyone’s standards…no need to take it away from Joaquin by saying something negative about him at the end. He should have won an award for this movie.
Amen 🙏🏻 hallelujah she was a wonderful woman pretty much sacrificed her career for him in the beginning and helped him be a born again Christian and clean from drugs and alcohol ❤️🙏🏻she had rewards waiting for her when she left this world 🌎🕊😇😇❤️
Dude seriously?! You don't know anything about Joaquin Phoenix's life so how can you say ridiculous statements like "he let fame get to him"?! What does that even mean?! It was a great short until you just started taking unwarranted personal shots at the end.
All you need in life is Johnny cash music and Walmart lol. I would have loved to meet him. I was in fort sill Oklahoma preparing for Iraq when he died. I was devastated. Most folks didn’t get it.
I was too young to really get it back then, but I might know how you felt...I was so devastated when I heard about Dusty Hill's passing (ZZ Top bassist/singer and a childhood hero of mine). I had listened to him so many times that it almost felt like losing a friend.
Joaquin Phoenix played the part of Johnny Cash so, so very well. I remember watching Johnny Cash on television as a young teenager, and he was one of my favorite singers. I would have to say that Mr. Phoenix nailed it. There were times I had to look twice to make sure, it wasn’t Johnny Cash. Well done, Mr. Phoenix!
As a 8 year old kid i watched that movie few months later me and my friend preformed a johnny cash show for the people working on our street after a major flood haha my grandfather had a johnny cash tape in his truck its a big part of my childhood
My Nan was there in London ON when he purposed to June. I was glad they put that at the end of the movie! Great movie and bio flick. Nobody else could've played John and some Johnny cash songs like Get Rhythm, I was there when it happened, I got stripes & home of the blues Joaquin sang better and slowed them down a bit or changed them a bit. Perfection imo. Johnny would've been proud to see Joaquins' portrayal of him.
J Phoenix did a great job. I was surprised when JOHNNY CASH chose him, but WOW...CASH (a real legend) Always knew, followed, & succeeded in his instincts.
The day they showed the movie for the first time in Austin I went on my own I didn’t care who wanted to go or not with me I went on my own and cried and laugh ❤ lovely lovely day !! I always liked both Joaquin and Johnny !!
Great movie! Amazing story about Johnny Cash's life with June. Joaquin Phoenix ditto remarkable job. Let's not Overlook Reese Witherspoon's portrayal of June Carter. Also a fantastic job portraying a remarkable woman. Want to really learn a lot about the Carters and the cashes? If you haven't already seen a documentary called the long winding stream, pick it up. It's very nicely done in very educational.
