The Time Machine Official Trailer #1 - Rod Taylor Movie (1960) HD
The Time Machine Trailer - Directed by George Pal and starring Rod Taylor, Alan Young, Alan Young, Sebastian Cabot, Tom Helmore. Responding to an invitation issued five days earlier, five gentlemen meet at the London residence of their mutual friend, scientist George, who, having arrived late and disheveled, recounts the last five days, beginning with the group's 31 December 1899 meeting: George explains that he has been working for two years to prove the possibility of movement within the fourth dimension, time, by creating a time machine to carry man into the future or past.

@@denisenova7494 the fact She referred to the movie and not the Novel/story/book or even author who wrote many stories ahead of their time, kind of hints towards her not knowing this was based on a book written by H.G.Wells. The same Author that wrote War of the Worlds which was another one ahead of it's time. Just to clarify the film quality/production wasn't ahead of it's time really. It was the story that was.

@@DavidM-tg1oy *_"A shining star in an otherwise dismal, if not horrifying, world!."_* Do you really think so? @@feonjun Feminism is a species-wide and worldwide plague, It is more virulent in some parts of the world then in others, but modern women are going to be disappointing everywhere! It is hardly a "sense of entitlement" to wish for women who are fun to be with and around, and whose interaction, both in and out of the bedroom, is pleasant, enjoyable, and desirable. Women (everywhere) today have all of the appeal of a bad migraine! Granted "Weena" was a fictitious example of feminine perfection, but she does show us all how much room there is for improvement with real, live modern "women",

Just love The Time Machine and the performances of Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimieux. One of those films one loves to see again and again. George Pal's special effects are classic (never mind that it was 1960). May Taylor and Mimieux rest in peace. The same for other cast members, like Alan Young, Sebastian Cabot, and Tom Helmore.

I was introduced to this film in the early 90’s. I must have been about 6, maybe 7. I was instantly hooked by the story, it’s originality and the 1960’s visual effects. Now I am in my 30’s and still have huge appreciation and admiration for this film. Rod Taylor is a great talent, and the effects are a wonderful example of the heights for the era. It’s also now that I am older can I properly observe and piece together how certain aspects of the filming were achieved. It’s brilliant.

Far better movie than the modern remake. Especially the effects to simulate the optic experience of timetravel with the gradual shock of the changes caused by time. The remake didn't have any of this. The modern stuff you just know what you're gonna to get, a bit of cgi here and there depending on the budget, some dramatic twist to be expected, all the usual menu. Not so with the pioneer movies. The only reduculous part of the movie where most actors who played the morlocks (except of the last one who got his skull crushed) and some unnecessary director's decisions to increase suspens.

The sirens don't appear in the original book. Harvesting of the Eloi was done at night by the Morlocks during new moon. In the book, the Eloi only have one fear ---- darkness. I think that Wells could have gone for a much nearer date than AD 802701 as the general story is at least plausable, (albiet far-fetched) for a future time not so far away: Suggest the year AD 2701, just 800 years from Wells' own time. As Wells was one for cryptic messages at times, I wonder if the choice of AD 802701 might read 2701 ?? A world as different from us today as the world of 800 years ago was ! (Now 680 years to go !!). How time flies.
