Definitely get into your genealogy research by looking into your family’s death records as far back as the 1800s, 1700s, or even earlier. Honestly this has helped me learn more about myself and who my ancestors are and they are Indigenous to the Americas. Trust me, once you do that, you will not ever doubt your beliefs or what you are drawn to. I definitely enjoyed listening to your story.
@@jabaribellamy460 I have my family tree all the way back to the counties in Britain before the mayflower but unfortunately on my majority Black side I can’t really find anything ..I don’t doubt the beliefs but I don’t know if the things I’ve tried are for me I feel like I keep waiting to be called to a specific one and I don’t have that feeling yet
@@Strangerootz Very interesting. So your black side is honestly both. Brown people like us were all over the world for thousands of years and ruled. The so called British looked just like us and there are paintings of this in museums that were created centuries ago. The history is really deep to discuss on here. You’re on a pivotal point from what I am understanding. I am very interested in learning about your history in Britain 🇬🇧. That honestly has shed some light for me about you.
@@jabaribellamy460 yeah I do feel a connecting to Lucumi and other variations of Ifa but in spirit I feel that connection won’t happen until my late thirties I feel I’m gonna end up getting imitated to something else before that
@@Strangerootz I will say this, the more you learn about how your ancestors lived on both sides of your family tree, the more clarity that you will have on your path. Because I have learned how my ancestors lived over here in the Americas before any foreigners have arrived here, I have learned what they believed in, and I understand why they have created their customs and how they orchestrated their tribal dynamics. Over here in the Americas, we have always lived in a matriarchal society which is different from today’s times but back then, both men and women understood each other’s roles in our tribes and there were no confusion unlike the times that we are living in now. The more you know who you are and who your ancestors are, the more clarity and understanding that you will have. I hope that sharing my perspective with you helps. I would love to share more but it’s so hard to type all of this information in this text box.
Thank you for sharing your testimony. Religious discrimination against ATRs has been and always will be anti-Black. The more we share, the more we heal
