I loved Jimmy I was 10 when the time tunnel came out ,my dad who was in the music business met James had lunch with him he gave his single All to me flip misty morning eyes, I played that 45rpm to death, what a crooner what a voice miss you so much James R.I.P. ❤❤
Obrigado pela postagem e vou ficar aguardando outros filmes desse gênero quando criança 🧒 assisti e hoje tenho 69 anos e se saudades matasse eu já estaria morto a muitos anos!
This is one of my favorite episodes of the series and one of the best one's of the show. This was a great SciFi tv show and the special affects were excellent for that time. It still holds up well, after 50 year's and it's going to be around for another 50 year's or more. They don't make TV shows like this anymore.
This episode gave me the willies and scared me to death when I saw it as a little kid. Seeing it decades later puts it in context for me and makes it much less frightening. . .
Irwin Allen was nothing short of genius in his creation of "The Time Tunnel, Voyage, "Lost in Space, and" Land of the Giants " even though they borrowed prop's , Sound Effects , etc like a party tray, it worked in every series. even by today's CGI and A.I. standards I much prefer his 1960s era sounds and effects. I would have been jazzed to go for a flight in the jupiter 2 or the Spindrift. if I had to live in one of those series, I would make it Voyage, and get a ride to the mainland.
I remember many years ago (probably in 1966) my sister commenting on the new television offerings for that year, "The Time Tunnel makes Star Trek look like a documentary."
I always thought this series fun during its short life. In tv and Irwin Allen land, they are omni-lingual and both have intuitive aptitude. Who need continuity - its fun. The Alps were the scene of savage fighting between Austrians and Italians.
Combat was definitely in the recipe for both Voyage/Sea and Time Tunnel to a large extent that season. Formula for bagging viewers in a fiercely ratings driven environment back in that day. The pressures of that time have been alleviated somewhat by a different environment now -- shows aren't expected to get huge shares of the MASS audience anymore, but to corral "niche" audiences.
It started to get a little off the track and go downhill around when this episode aired. Ghost and aliens episodes seemed to take over the history aspect of the show.
Yes. Ratings pressures are ON at this time. Time Tunnel is competing with Wild wild West, Tarzan, Man From UNCLE and Hogans Heroes and everybody is offering only popcorn early Friday evenings. The requirement back then was 30% minimum of the MASS audience. No niche marketing of today's fragmented media universe.
Ça doit faire au moins 30 ans que la musique du générique me trotte parfois dans la tête mais j'ignorais à quoi elle correspondait. Me voilà fixé. Merci pour ce rappel. Je regardais cette série quand j'avais une dizaine d'années au plus.
They arrive in WINTER and what do we see? Deciduous trees with their leaves, what a mouthful (I laugh) Otherwise, I loved this series when I was a teenager. We saw it in France 1980s
The timeline is also wrong. Italy declared war against Austria in may 1915, then most battles were on Austrian territory, and German forces were not on the Italian front.
"Scared me too as a kid, and I'll never forget it"!! This episode and another black &white movie called "The Haunting", the scene where the ghost was bending the door while turning the knob"!!
Irwin allen was genius ! I love tv show and movies about time travel , example, Doctor who, Time tunnel, back of the future, stargate! 60s was golden age of science fiction.
I remembered this from my teenage years, loved it then and love it now….thank you for sharing this, my only complaint is how small the film is on here, otherwise a pretty good film, I wish it was a bit larger here, my device is small so this is much smaller…lol..🤣….HIGH 5….👍❤️🥰
They had a few beautiful female guest stars on Time Tunnel...two gorgeous ladies that come to mind are Myrna Fahey as Rahab and the STUNNING Vitina Marcus as Sareet,Kuala Khan's daughter.
China introduced the show in the late eighties. I remember I was hooked to the show but it airs late Sunday night before Monday school day. My father would come in and turn the TV off which makes me rather dejected.
I really loved show even with stock footage great characters the first season was the best one,,,,they were light years ahead of hippies or the Beatles British rock bands etc as a child I thought they superior people
For a tv show about history, getting history pretty wrong. Wrong uniforms, helmet. Also, there were no German soldiers anywhere near Italy in 1915. Especially that far south. Austria defended from may 1915. So, time frame is wrong too
Their time measurement of milliseconds is a lot different than mine. I timed them as shocking Tony for 4 seconds. All this time, the tunnel personnel have simply tracked them, but suddenly, they can retrieve one of them? Why haven't they done that before? I'm sure all the actors didn't stop to think what they comb-overs were going to look like in that wind. LOL Interesting that these episodes are called out as 50 minutes long, to allow 10 minutes of commercials, yet this one just played out to 1:00:06 in length. Uploaded at slower speed?
A the end,the Corporal I thought was possessed my Nero saying we will drive the Huns out, in the end Caesar will return. When asked his name he said, Corporal Benito Mussolini.I never got that ending.
It's amazing how you can travel through time and be able speak any and every local language, even ancient ones. LOL and if the legend of Jerico was true, that would make Joshua a genocidal war criminal for wiping out the inhabitants.
On 19th minut of movie, James Darren found the secret knob to the cellar, just before that, he took the books out of the library furniture and threw them on the floor and left them there, no shame at all
The clothes may remain the same, but you never knew in which time period Doug and Tony would end up, at the start and at the end of the show, another bygone age. And, they'd meet some of the people of different eras who would later leave their mark on history, in this case Corporal Benito Mussolini, aka Il Duce, 7 years later. 😮⌛⌛📺
