With the timeline of Star Trek: Prodigy being quite confusing and complex, we thought it would be worth a video dedicated to the timeline of Prodigy? So strap in as we deal with Vau N’akat time travel, how prodigy fits in with Picard, and much more!
This is gonna be interesting because we first have to start with the Protostar, we will somewhat go chronologically down the timeline, but with time travel being involved, we will jump to relevant times to further explain things.

I just sent this link to my father because he's watching Star Trek. Picard and now seeing this. I knew there was a tie in somewhere. I knew it. I'm now going to try to get my father to watch prodigy. That way he could see the tie-in

Hey Captain Jack. Burning question: Can you, please, tell me why Janeway wears the two-bar gold-backed version of the combadge that only ever showed up in alternate timelines in TNG, instead of wearing the slightly different offset two-bar grey-backed one from the Prime Timeline, as shown in Picard’s late 24th/early 25th century? Or, does all of Prodigy take place in an alternate timeline and/or universe? Thanks for the Prodigy timeline rundown.

From comments by Prodigy writer Aaron Waltke, this combadge design seems to be a precursor to the combadge you see in Picard, so Prodigy is still in the prime timeline as well as Picard. - Dom

I think the E might have been a mistake in that battle tbh. As each ship of each class all had the same registry on them, the USS Sovereign(s) all had the E's Registry on their Nacelles. Seems to be a Modelling problem.

The one thing that I don't get is, if star fleet had the means of a "protostar" drive... doesn't that kind of negate the whole discovery "Burn" storyline? Did they just give up on this tech once the protostar was lost?

They didn't give up on the tech since they made it a fully commissioned fleet, but they probably didn't have a lot of these. If the star inside goes supernova it can destroy an entire star system, and its protodrive is still tempermental requiring downtime. Therefore it still requires a warp drive for when the protodrive is out of service, which requires Dilithium to efficiently mediate the reaction of matter and antimatter.

Still can't believe they wrote that Chakotay went back into the Delta Quadrant only 2 years after Voyager returns. I thought he would leave Starfleet but then we wouldn't have the story for Janeway to go back to the Delta Quadrant to find Chakotay. Though with that controversy with Beltran a couple of months back I kinda hope he stays lost, I was one of the Gay Trek fans he blocked on twitter...

Didn't they say in a moral star part 2 that first contact was 50 years away from 2383 and then in preludes didn't the speech have two separate mentions of "decades"? So doing math 2383+50+20+20= 2473? Based off the stuff said about the future by both the diviner and the vindicator. Then in supernova it's said Chakotay is only 52 years ahead of them in about 2435. Can any of you guys explain this difference in the timeline using lines said in the show about the future?

In A Moral Star Part II (Set in 2383) The Diviner says "Show Solum 50 years after the First Contact", therefore First Contact would happen sometime in 2385. In Supernova (Set in 2384) it is said Chakotay is 52 years ahead, which is 2436. Chakotay in his message said it has been "72 days" since he was captured, so 72 days before 2436, which could either be 2436 or 2485.

I know it's a lot of work. But to be honest.. I mean, permission to freely say : I don't think it's clearer now. With all due respect, it's one of those things that can be blamed on alternate timelines, this is the current trend, captain Jack SIR! 🖖
