The folk of Greenwich Village can be heard in this pop psych enigma. Sometimes like Spanky and Our Gang or The Cowsills. Yellow Sub was whimsical like The Beatles. It was once a big deal when the circus rolled into town.
I just love this! The Northern English accents are very accurate on NY Mining Disaster and Yellow Submarine. I'm wondering if Bowie had heard this album as the intro to 'I Found a new Love' is very similar to Space Oddity. Thanks for uploading 👍
yes musically, but instead of Daevid or Gili singing it sounds like the gals from ABBA. Maybe toss in some Bonzo Dog Band and even some early Floyd with the squealing squirrel and gazoo.
Crazy. I just pulled this album out about a week ago. Helping someone else do research on the many cheap/forgotten records from like 65 to 78. Anyone want some recommendations hit me up.
@@Ghoopty I guess youtube doesn't allow people to post links anymore? Bummer. Ill keep it simple. To start off I suggest Blues Project - Planned Obselescence Huge departure from the original material. While still plenty of blues and rock this album took this band in a much more experimental direction. Lots of proto sounds here..... some north African jazz elements. Easily one of my favorite inexpensive, overlooked albums.
@@Ghoopty Ok next...... The ID - The Inner Sounds of The ID Maybe even a tad proto-punk. Bits of garage, psych, some cinematic type elements. Kind of an early concept album based on The ID..... a mysterious spiritual force. Great listen if you dig anything from The Sonics to Jefferson Airplane
