Hi Valerie!! LOL!! No worries. Gouache. It's just another kind of paint. It's thick, more opaque watercolor. Blends really easy - even after drying, unlike acrylic.

I know!! This was an amazing haul all around!! I have been playing with the granulating paints and I LOVE THEM!!! So amazing. I just keep trying different things with them. I can't seem to get out of mad scientist mode to color or do anything else?🤣 🖖👽
The New Kuretake Gansai Tambi granulating wc paints come out very pink in all the colours. Fine for abstract. There are several channels showing them. I prefer the Schmincke granulating. TFS, enjoy.
OMG!! They are amazing!! Both the GT and the WN!! I am so into them. I can't seem to get out of mad scientist mode to even open the gouaches or even a coloring book. Too much fun. And the GT's really complement the WN. Awesome!! Happy coloring dear. 🖖👽
Ok just finished watching !!!! Ahhhhh amazing haul !!!! Yes i have the dark night colors of the White Night granulating set and im so jelous you got the new earth colors set !!! That one has been on my wishlist !! Cant wait to see you play with them !!! I think ill get them hopefully for my birthday in May , we will see ! Enjoy playing with your new goodies !!! LOL!! Yes, have good food and new paints to play with - I am in heaven. I love them!! Both kinds are awesome. I think the Gansai Tambi will really complement and add value to the White nights. I have been having so much fun just playing around and experimenting with them. No coloring is getting done and I am ok with that. 🖖👽
I am hoping to go in and have a play with them very soon. They have been a bit eclipsed by the granulating watercolors this weekend. Big surprise!! Because otherwise I would have been all about them. I just keep going back and playing the the granulating WCs. They are sooooo awesome!!! I can't seem to get enough? The Himi's are up next though. 🖖👽

Hehe. Well, thus far I am in mad scientist mode and just blissfully experimenting away with them on watercolor paper. So, I am not sure how they will work on our coloring book paper yet either. I do know that I REALLY LIKE them though!! 🖖👽

@@doodlerobot42 Don’t be sorry….it is a choice because i have so many supplies unused, and i don’t like bubbled paper. I want to try out my Albrecht Dürer pencils and waterbased markers with a little bit of water first.
I’ve already dived into my copy of Mythographic Imagine! I find the paper thicker than the newer books…thoughts? I’m thinking about starting a channel…not sure I have a ton to add to the coloring community but I share the same excitement and love for the hobby as everyone on ColorTube…I think I need an outlet to share my supplies and books however I’m afraid of making an a$$ of myself. I tend to do that. Often. 😂
Yes, I think the paper is thicker than the other books, but I haven't worked in any of them yet so I can't say if that is good, bad, or no difference. Sure, give it a try. If you really want to. It can be hard work and does take time away from coloring, so there is that. When I was moving and all displaced and busy I had to prioritize coloring over the channel because of time. But, with more time I can do both... Sometimes it is the channel over coloring... I am not a fast colorist and I have very little time, so having a channel can make the demands on my time feel a bit overwhelming. But, I do like all the friends I have made. Food for thought. Some of my friends do not have channels. I have every confidence that you will NOT make an *** out of yourself. It will be fine. :) 🖖👽

Ooooo... Great stuff! :) Augite porphyrite (aw-gite pour-fer-ite :)) is a mineral that's usually green, black, or brown. I don't know if the name means that the paint contains some of that mineral (it's not usually a pigment-producing mineral) or if the colour of the paint just reminded them of augite. :)

@@doodlerobot42 No worries, Doodle - I mispronounce other stuff all the time. 🙃 I once taught an entire semester (in a subject that I'm not as familiar with) mispronouncing a term. I still shudder to think that I sent an entire class out into the world using a bizarre pronunciation of a relatively common word in that subject. Ah well. ;) :) Enjoy your granulating paints!!
Stopped the video to tell you i got the mysterious library book as well a few months ago , i think from Abe books or a random seller online and i believe this version is a much cheaper knock-off of the original, the original english version has much thicker paper, this paper made me cry when i first got the book. Its so thin and see through, thats why its so thin. So i did some research online and people had the same experience and were calling it a fake knockoff on the amazon reviews. I don’t know but the original version even the english one (not the Japanese) had great paper, not what we got.
🤬 Well, now I just want to swear like a sailor!!! Dang it!! I will try and see how it goes. Now the only problem is how would one know which version they are buying! Grrrrr.
@@doodlerobot42 you don’t know until you get the book and see the thin paper ! If you look at old flip throughs you can clearly see they have way better paper
