As far as the fluff is concerned, according to the HH Age of Darkness Liber Hereticus, the Sons of Horus and the Death Guard are "Sworn Brothers" which means they fight together with all the rules benefits. Basically, you're golden! :)

On your Titan conundrum, an answer is that titan Legions are totally independent of marine chapters. I am going alpha legion. Following GW guide for the first time in my life and the satisfaction from painting and entire sprue in like 5 hours to a decent standard. Cant be beaten

Exactly what I'm doing. Prime of silver/leadbelcher, followed by an Akhelian Green Contrast. The titans will be an entirely different scheme for the reason you stated, maybe Fureans?

I am also curious! My starter didn't have the QRS that was shown in his previous video. Wondering if they took it out of the box for the release where as the review copies had them in them.

I'll be doing them for myself, but probably not for public use. I really don't want to draw the ire of GW lawyers, and unlike most publishers, I don't think they appreciate me putting the rules out there for free, even if it is just the core rules. We'll see. GW do seem to be releasing more PDFs of basic rules, and if they do that, I'll be fine releasing my summary.

Great video! To ease your mind, the Titans are meant to be a different colour scheme to the space marines and solar auxilia. They aren’t part of the chapter or the solar auxilia in the fluff. Have you considered 3d printing units to bulk up your armies at vastly cheaper cost? It would mean not being allowed to play in GW official tournaments, if that matters at all, (and I’m not sure if it would negatively affect your relationship with GW) but there are some lovely 3rd party 3d stls out there. Thanks for the video. Big fan of your channel

1 liter of resin ($30) has gotten me about 1600 points so far. Planning on buying the rulebooks and other accessories but I just can't afford to play this game and 40k with how expensive the models are and how many you need to play LI.

I'm not really keen to dive into the rabbit hole that is 3D printing. All the chemicals and cleanup and time - I just can't be bothered, to be honest!

Nice video! personally I went for bright red and blue for my two forces to make the miniatures pop more, instead of the more realistic but also duller grey, black and beige.

Personally looking at the box set looks cheaper than a regular army and it's something that has me really ready to pull the trigger on that to get into warhammer

Those look great. The way I did my death guard was to spray white, heavy brown/black wash, then dry brush white to brighten them up again to taste. Then do the green and metals. Finally some weathering powders and a varnish.

It's a personal choice; wither go the dark with light paint/drybrush, or the colour then wash. The latter seems more effective with light colours.

Sit down for dinner and a video of you painting tiny soldiers comes up, perfect timing! Even though GW say a typical game is 3000pts, I think realistically a good battle size is probably smaller than that if you're aiming for battles that take 1 or 2 hours to play.

I've never painted on the sprue, so getting that advice in early is a kindness sir (though I'm not buying the game!). As ever, good stuff for the Games Workshop-funding foolish (like myself).

Enamel wash is amazing at this scale, really easy to fix any blobs on the flat panels but it washes into the panel lines so much better than the standard acrylic GW washes. They’re a joy to use and super quick!

Oh, my enamel days are way, way in the past - I hate any form of smelly cleaning when it comes to art - but fair enough!

Oh, that's good. Do you use one particular make/colour for dark washes, for example?

@@EsotericOrderGamers AK Interactive do a range of enamel washes but I’ve found their black Panel Liner to be very good at creating sharp recess shade on both vehicles and infantry, easy to blend away any over shaded areas with a tiny bit of their enamel thinner and a clean brush - I just use a tiny bit of washing up liquid to clean the brushes afterwards. You do have to give it a shake every so often though as there’s a high ratio of thinner to pigment so it can settle quite quickly.

Models are looking great and as someone else has said, the lore has you covered. And even if it didn’t, who cares? The universe is a vast place, war makes strange friends. The cost of the game definitely is a concern for me but I’m resigned to being the scrub at our club who gradually chips away at getting to 3k one or two boxes at a time over the next year or two. Although I have a feeling there might be a few of us in the same situation so maybe we’ll play at 1000/1500 for a while

I agree with you 100%! Yeah, I'm the one who buys and paints everything too - my friends just show up to a game all set out and ready! - though the occasional GW freebie certainly does help these days.

I‘m impressed with the paint jobs I see popping up online, yours included. 😊 I have to disagree on one point though - AT18 is not an expensive game. Sure, a single miniature is, especially compared to other games, but a playable force isn’t. Again, within the context of other tabletop games, you can get a decent legio with a single starter set and maybe a couple additional boxes and get away with something like 200€. Sticking to EU pricing because AU/NZ prices are crazy in general 😅 Now, if you want to have a varied collection of Titans and Knights, then it’s getting expensive no doubt. However, no other ‚full scale‘ GW game can be played as inexpensive as AT. And collections can always get infinitely expensive anyways 😂 Thank you for sharing!

Interesting - and I must admit I haven't done the sums, but I guess again it depends on how many points you need for a 'good game'. I always find that comparing the prices of GW games to other GW games is not really a good gauge of value however! 🤣

Really doesn't matter about the titan colour schemes no need to match at all, these are a completely different entity to the legions and auxilia

I also made sure to glue all infantry models in such a way onto the base that no model reaches over the rim of the base. Why? When they get stuck in melee they can become intertwined with opposing models and thus run the risk of breaking their arms. Edit: Any news on the Hobgoblin (Rank & Flank game) front?

Did you paint the bases first and THEN glue down the models? Super glue on paint? What did you do?

I painted the bases separately, glued on the painted minis, then touched up around the mini bases where the super glue had left a white bloom.

I don't see the need for your titans to have any relation in colour scheme. They are titans, in-lore they are so expensive most planetary governors could not afford them, not to mention yours are already very well painted. Visually they break up the monotony of space-marine monochromes. When they hurt your eyes, they are doing their job.

Its a success in the UK sold out in a couple of hours still can't buy the standard boxes from GW and only £30 a box or £24 from a local game store so a bargain really. This game has the legs especially at that price in the UK

You dont have to have the titans match the marines, and actually shouldn't Astarties Legions did not have titans instead Titan Legions allied with them, and had their own colors and heraldry. If you do a search for Titan Legions you should be able to find a list easily enough.

@@EsotericOrderGamers for sure! you can use any legio you want, or pick a legio that canonically allied with the legion of your choice. This image shows each Legions and their Legio Allies from the lore of the game/novels. i.imgur.com/G3jQvwS.jpg For instance I play Ultranmarines so I am painting my stompies Legio Preasagius, ther are several others that allied with Ultramarines, but I like the way they look, going with similar colors instead of complimentary or contrasting.
