Very good video, but terribly sad to hear the details. My great aunt Annie Naylor was one of the 19 girls who died. Such a tragedy that should never have happened. My grampy was a teenager at the time but rarely spoke about this, except to say that his mum and dad, along with the whole community never recovered from the terrible loss. I am not living in the area but have travelled to see the memorial and lay some flowers. I have found a picture of little Annie, making it all the more real to me. Thanks for making this, we should always remember what it was like back then, and how fortunate we are today.

Thank you for your video. My great aunt Lizzie Williams was the youngest victim, she was my Grandads older sister. My Grandad was 4 years old at the time, he didn’t remember much about the disaster, all he remembered was his Mother crying endlessly. Lizzie was reported in the papers as being taken to the Guest hospital by a man who had scooped her up. Lizzie sadly died and of her injuries.

Thank you. It is amazing that this family story has come down to you, and I'm sure you will tell your kids so on and so on. These stories must be kept alive for their sake and for history sake. I am honoured you enjoyed it .

Yes my girls know the story’s when they were younger they shared it with their classmates in school, both doing projects in it. It was very moving when we all attended the 100 year commemoration in Tipton cemetery 2 years ago, there were lots of the girls family members there, beautiful floral tributes too. I was shocked at just how many people did turn up.

You are knocking it out the park with these documentaries fella. I'm a big consumer of RU-vid documentaries and yours are right up there with the likes of Mark Felton for me. Another bit of history I had no idea about, and the story well told. You are a credit to the Black Country.

Brilliant video once again! I'm originally from Dudley and where I live now in Erith, Kent where interestingly munitions were made for the military in ww1;there's a similar memorial in the Brook st graveyard for a similar accident on Erith marshes. There is a small clip of this post fire on pathe news too.
