“A million years from now, I’ll be loving you still.” Damn. That lyric right there just breaks your heart. Saddest feeling is losing someone you loved for whatever reason and realizing your love just grew 100 times as soon as they left. Loved your emotional reaction ❤️

This song was crazy big when it came out. Peaked at #2 on the Hot 100 and Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart, topped the Irish Singles Chart, hit #2 in Australia and Canada, #4 in the UK, and the top 20 in the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Sweden. Tony was also Grammy-nominated for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. I agree he sounds very similar to Babyface, but I can also hear similarities to Raphael Saadiq too. I still love it, and I still keep it on a playlist.

I ran a Baggage seen sure in the late 90s/early 00s and you wouldn't believe how many emails I got from people thinking this was Babyface. This was on Babyface's record label, though.

Tony Rich and Babyface both released versions of this song in '95. Tony Rich was an artist signed to Babyface's label after Laface dissolved their partnership.

As a 90’s R&B fan, “Nobody Knows” was a hit in ‘96, the same year that brought us Mary J. Blige’s “Not Gon’ Cry”, D’Angelo’s “Lady”, Brandy’s “Sittin’ Up In My Room”, Dru Hill’s “Tell Me”, “All The Things (Your Man Won’t Do)” by Joe, “Falling” by Montell Jordan, 112’s “Only You”, Mint Condition’s “What Kind Of Man Would I Be” and Az Yet’s “Last Night”. 😎

Such a great song. Kevin Sharp also did a cover of this song soon after Tony. It's equally as good in my opinion. Sadly Kevin passed away in 2014 at the young age of 43.

First of all, thank you to professionaljackass for requesting a 90’s R&B radio staple (that was also a pop hit). If Angela was doing a One Hit Wonders of the 90’s, The Tony Rich Project would be a strong contender. (and 😂@ Angela mentioning that Babyface is an R&B singer. ❄️)

I don’t agree and also wonder why Babyface’s version didn’t have the same success. The stars were clearly aligned for The Tony Rich Project on this single bc other R&B male singers at the time tried for crossover success and just couldn’t break through to pop radio in this fashion.

Song was written by Joe Rich and Don Dubose... Tony Rich composed it. So he covered his song right?
