What's actually funny and adorable about Veigar is that they actually added ears for him in Wild Rift, so not only he is adorable for his size, but also his cute ears, making him even more adorable.

I actually have thought about this for a while, why rework some champions in being so different it's like they were removed, like Aathrox, and not just have them as some sort of echo fighter and you say it was the previous host in lore

I also like the design from beesauce(?) a lot. The simple yellow moons drawn like something in a kids book, the scarf, the deep blue and grey underneath as well as the rather tame hairstyle, i.e. the ponytail give her an element of innocence and down-to-earthness(i dont know how to convey this properly) i would associate with adolescent climate activists (a look which the poncho-like clothing piece supports). As contrast elements of the piltovan popstar are also there, the pink hair, the earpiece and the neon blue on the inside of the jacket, or maybe its a cape idk. I just really like this design, even if im too dyslexic to portray it coherently

They made him homeless in lore and in game, they took away his family and then made an E girl that mocked him and tortured his people. They are a very peaceful race. He literally doesn't even hate humans because he knows that they have no way to realise the truth of the crystals

I'm so grateful for LoR, not just for the fleshing out of the characters or the gameplay, but handling the designs, especially of older champions. I think while for example Veigar and LB could use great improvements to their designs, LoR really does them justice. Shame they haven't gone more out there with the designs of non-humanoid champs like Anivia and Malphite, though I understand where it's coming from. But my favourite has to be Nautilus, he has been treated so well there! (also Asol as an honourable mention, not because of design tweaks, but because they actually made him just as cool as he was always meant to be) yes I play and love LoR, how could you tell
as for veig, he already has an updated model revamp in wr, in which something as simple as his ears showing out of his hat gives a better impression of him as a tryhard evil man

Nah malphite in lor was definitely improved because they gave us the fact that he is big as a literal mountain, whereas in league he look like slightly big rock man. And malphite as a father figure to chip too made his lore more interesting

I mean Viktor canonically *can* take off the mask. In his story he's seen drinking sweetmilk, he seems to still enjoy sweet drinks/foods so that's my bet on one reason why he didn't fully augment his face or head, even if it might sound silly

If they leaned *HEAVILY* into Singed as an experimental chemist, constantly juicing up his decrepit and broken old man body to be stronger and faster, I think Riot could at least achieve some kind of moderate harmony between lore Singed and gameplay Singed. But then you would just have Mundo.
I always loved singed's lore and I hated the disconnect between his lore and gameplay and arcane gave me the thing I wanted the most... Singed lore at its greatest form. He's my favourite character together with vander in arcane because it surprised me that riot gave a damn about him. And honestly I wish his personality in-game was just like in arcane (same with ekko btw).
I still don't get why Redacted should have been a full punk character, that way her skin would have amde more sense as it would have been a different exploration of hte champ rather then the same thing twice, i also just think making her a punk rocker would have made more sense on every level. Punk is often protest singing, Zaun already has a punk scene, and it would have even let her be part of arcane in a fun way like Imagine dragons characters.
Because she was first conceived as K/DA Seraphine. Wonder why her base design is so similar to that skin, there's your answer. And Piltover was the only place in Runeterra they managed to squeeze her into to make it "make sense", but we've seen no efforts to actually make her an interesting character. Just a naive girl in a setting where even that naiveté, which could have potential, isn't explored! She's just a "perfect girl", telling everyone to hold hands until their problems fade away while children are dropping dead right around the corner. Something as interesting as a punk character, a protest singer, a political force that poses a threat to the higher class is just too far off from the "uwu self insert" that we got. And as much as I dislike her, I don't blame her for being the way she is. I blame her writers, the management and whoever else thought any of this was a good idea.
Not gonna lie, that Bee Sauce reimagining of Redacted looks really sweet! Not only is her design easier on the eyes while still keeping her up-beat singer motif, but the implied update to her character is also really nice, something that I feel could lead to a cute friendship between her and Skarner, instead of what should've led to an immense HATRED Skarner would have for her had Riot cared about Skarner's story.
How to solve the Singed problem: Either make him two different characters ô e for the lore that keeps the name Singed but with a new gameplay and one for the old gameplay but with a new 'Amé and gameplay. Or, and this is the best of the two options, put him in a fucking chemtech propulsed wheelchair like a 70 year old tuning grandpa that poison you with his exhaust gaz and cigarette smoke and you rework his ultimate so he use his wheelchairs nitro to move like Sion under his ult but he moves through units and bounces on walls rather than stopping and this last for 30 seconds.
They could do singed kinda like Gangplank. Like give him a story where an experiment goes wrong and does him so much harm he has to hide and try to heal and upgrade himself and in doing so he emerges almost a new man.

As some peoples suggested: slap Singed inside a chem-tech suit and give him some ability to survive early game... also, Riot should just do a "lore-rework", not a rework of the lore but champs with still functional kits and upgrade them to their current lore or a new one with a visual update, such as Miss Fortune, Shaco, Blitzcrank, Kogmaw etc. like they did with the assassins' rework
Couldn't agree more about Varus. I love the character and his lore got me to try him in League and then I realized that the lore I loved was literally nowhere in Varus. He isn't even a Darkin he's a "Darkin"
Glad to see someone recognizing the issues with Varus. In his old lore, if I remember properly, he was an Ionian hunter who guarded this tentacle thing in a temple. His village got burned and everyone in it, leading to him taking the very dangerous thing he was supposed to guard (in game, that’s his ultimate). Retconning him into a darkin not only makes his voice lines make no sense, it also makes no sense for him to have the chain of corruption - where did a damn Darkin get it from? I don’t get it, they really made him a whole ass music video and updated his splash art to modernize him a little but then did nothing else for him, he could definitely use an ASU.

I feel like a decent amount of champions don't even need a full visual update and some don't even need an ASU. Theres more than a handful of champions who more than anything just need new voice lines. The number one example I always give is Maokai. Maokai is a rare example of lore changes that don't retconn but instead progress the characters lore. Originally Maokai was just a tree from Twisted Treeline who came to life and was just depressed because he liked it better when he didn't know he was alive and was just a tree. This was reflected in his voice line "I once had peace..." showing he was just sad and wanted to go back to being nothing more than a tree. But now his lore has been updated, where he was just basically a druidic gardener bringing empty islands life with lush blooming forests, until the Ruination took that away from him. And instead of just wanting to go back to his own peaceful tree life, he fights back the undead that corrupted his home and brought him to life in the first place. He's got a fire in his eyes, a passion, something to fight for and protect. And this is reflected in his modern voice lines with (my personal favorite voice line in the game) him saying "I once had peace, it is better to have *purpose!"* (Honestly people talk about how Yorick got done dirty in the Ruination event but Maokai has a very similar purpose of fighting back against Viego's scourge of undead, and I'm surprised nobody brought him up along with Yorick) Something as simple as updating voice lines to match the modern lore of a champion can do wonders for their in game representation. Characters like Lee Sin, Ashe, and especially Maokai have outdated models and older kits, but their aesthetic still holds strong because at least the things they're saying in game are no longer tied to those outdated models, and fit their compelling modern lore. Varus more than anything needs updated voice lines. I completely understand and agree that his model is outdated, he came out like a decade ago. But seeing how Riot tends to prioritize skins and new champions above all else, something as simple as new voice lines could definitely make Varus stand out far more than he currently does.
I agree with your take on neeko, but in her case the solution is SO EASY TO MAKE!!! She's a shapeshifter, she can look however she wants, a super short lore of her, saying that is her tribe everbody is full camileon but is cultural or something to shape into something that you like to better represent your personality and practice their hability, and BOOM! You're done.
I really love Nautilus, but man do I hate to play him now. He's still my most played champion but he's now only viable as a support it feels awful. Especially when you considering that there is now an actual support from Bilgewater, who has revenge as their motif, is also undead, who also was betrayed by their captain, became a vengeful spirit of the ocean, and who both drag people in. Actually I'm not sure how many people know this but when Pyke was released Nautilus' lore basically got deleted and replaced with a vague "Many tell stories of Nautilus but no one knows for sure who or what it is" kind of lore until he got it rewritten a few months later. Nautilus really should've just been reworked when Pyke came out because now there are two supports with basically the same lore, from the same place except one was actually designed for the support role. In kind of a double-wammy kind of deal I feel like Nautilus should be more a of tanky/disruptor style of AP Juggernaut, playing sort of like Mordekaiser but with more tankiness and a bit less damage, while also changing Mordekaiser back to a more tanky/battlemage style of champion since he kind of doesn't work a lot of the time and when he does he's just a stat stick, Plus also because Mordekaiser never really was much of a Juggernaut until the 2019 rework where Riot decided he was solely gonna be a Juggernaut.

They should do an ao kuang with singed: In smite (the Moba) there was this character Ao Kuang who was a giant dragon. The thing is that it was supposed to be a Chinese god, but felt super memey and stupid to look at in dragon form, but had a decent kit of abilities. So what hi rez (the creators of the game) did was create a new dragon looking Quetzalcoatl boi to have og Ao Kuang s kit, and then Design a completely new katana wielder Dragon god to be the new reworked Ao Kuang. I loved that.
I think an interesting route they could go with singed is to give him a mount, one of his monstrous creations. Maybe something like that big tube lizard from arcane. Then he can still run around and spew poison but his mad experimenting monster side also still exists.
i think a good singed can be done, but it'd involve essentially deleting current singed, as his race car mach 5 mustard gas trail play style doesn't match the cold calculating chemist we've seen. he gassed a war from a distance because it would end it faster, he didn't go running to the front line and tank 37 arrows to sonic his way around it.
the only way i can see singe get reworked visually and make sense lore wise is that if he were to decide to finally use his mutagens on himself and turn himself into a tanky monster that emit toxic gas. his ult could even be him taking shimmer or something, but the problem is that this makes him way to simmilar to new mundo
Genuine question about Singed. Would it be possible to “split” him into two champions? Lore Singed gets added to the game and ingame Singed gets maybe a name change and its a different hero now? Like i honestly think this might be the best of solutions to get the best of both versions idk
I think both versions of singed could be united if in arcane they showed him taking shimmer and getting really agile and fast, and in game they could make him change appearance when he starts zoomin to represent the shimmer in his body something like that
It be fitting for Singed to have a Chemtank Armor when he is in combat. An Armor that release toxic shimmer and spread it... Singed desperately needed a VGU...
Pretty sure the reason why varus looks the way he is (purple instead of red) is cause he uses hemomancy (blood magic) not the same way the other darkin uses it (healing themselves) but instead he blights enemies blood (his W passive blight) which would make sense according to the theory that the 5 darkin are based on the four horsemen of the apocalypse with varus and his sister being pestilence and conquest.
I think the point about viktor is a good one. With the release of arcane and it showing Viktor before he became who he is right more, I think it would be really great if we saw a refinement or rework of his models to reflect on what we saw in arcane, maybe with season 2 where we will probably see in more depth about the journey he took to turn into the machine herald.
Singed could be updated as an in lore explaination like with Pantheon or Gangplank. Where he is found by the people of zaun for his awful experiments and people start coming after his ass because of the horrible things hes done. Singed turns to viktor in his hour of need as Singed has spent too much time in Zaun that hes lost favor with Piltover, and Viktor removes his arms and legs and replaces them with prosthetics due to singed's old age making him frail. With viktors help they construct a small mechanized suit which singed can wear whenever he is in danger, with the in game explaination for his Q being a method of slowing or killing his pursuers. Maybe Viktor didn't approve of it directly or maybe he doesn't care. Details could be worked out later, but you could still create a reason for why singed plays like he does. Mans literally wants to keep being an evil mad scientist in Zaun but his moral failures have caught up to him and he now spends his life running from vigilantes and the law.
I really like Varus’ design in-game, but I wouldn’t be opposed to them updating his design and voice-lines if they kept his gameplay exactly the same. He’s a very fun character to play imo.
I have a solution for Singe that can keep the lore and gameplay version of him intact : The idea is to have Singe on top of a monster or sitting in a robot like dr.robotnik. That way we can have the model of a lore fitting Singe and keep his gameplay. He could throw his bottles while his monster/robot would dispense the toxic gas and charge at foes to knock them behind him. What do you think about that?
Viktors design could be that in game he gets more and more turned into a robot due to the disease overtaking him more and more so he just needs to keep adding more robot parts onto him It would make more sense that he is obsessed with changing himself now
I think it would work, if they'd split Singed. Like, give us a new champion which follows gameplay- and designwise the crazy, old scientist Singed and rework the old Singed into some other, new character, which speeds around with a poison trail and flings people. Don't know how you would change the name problem, cause that would be hella confusing at first and because his identity is so iconic, but that would be Riot's concern lol. You get the idea.
You know what would’ve been cool? If they spun nautilus to be from piltover instead of bilgwater. The tilth is neat but a faction interaction between piltover, zaun, and the shadow isle would’ve been interesting to explore. A man from piltover goes on a diving expedition, equipped with the latest I. Hextech diving equipment, his superiors take a greedy deal from some Chem baron and he goes under during the harrowing. His hextech keeps him alive, but only just- as the mist below the waves consumes him. The piltover bosses deny they were ever there and they cut him off- but nautilus remembers, and he’s on a mission to make the greedy high ups pay for literal burial at sea. His diving suit could be made more corrupted, with some semblance of fancy fancy piltover aesthetics, broken tanks of oxygen, the algae growing in and out of his cracked face plate, and an ever thumping wet trudge as he drags his anchor across the floor, every swing laboured but full of anger, and corrupted hextech that pulses out black mist. Instead of his random torpedo thing, his ult could pull under instead of knock up, a speeding tendril of mist that literally pulls you to the depths. A ghostly titan that creaks and buckles like a derelict ship, and Erie haunting ghostly voices- from what sounds like a broken communicator. How fucking sick would that be

Couldn’t u just make singed have like small noticeable but not glaring tubes going into his legs from the canister in his back to make his gameplay make more sense with lore? Personally I think his dumb world of Warcraft shield is a far more of a glaring issue to fix than his abilities. The main reason I think this is because is remembered this one scene from arcane, we see victor, a cripple who needed a walking stick to get anywhere, RUNNING 🏃♂️ across some doc in piltover after injecting himself with a vile he got from SINGED. It might just be a wild educated guess but I definitely feel there’s potential there for THAT scene to set up for a future singed rework or asu. (Ignoring all the cannon issues with arcane and league)
The best that riot has put out is fully embracing the concept of a character but the thing is they rarely do that lmao, they come up with something and then swtich it up to be compatable for the wider audience.

Imo they should put singed in a turbo chemtank in game then he can somewhat keep his gameplay but still have a reason for him to receive a asu/vgu, The turbo chemtank would give him a reason to be fast, and you can just say "well he's a scientist 🧚" for his poison trails or even make it so his chemtank is broken and the chemicals are leaking, same with the flip, we know turbo chemtank gives people enhanced strength so it'd be pretty easy to justify him being inside one, while keeping in lore singed out of one Also having a ""mech suit"" character would be sick af
I think that they should change singed entirely and release a new champ with the same function, because a character that leaves a trail of poison, throw sticky thing to the group, lift you 3 feet into the air and boost himself is not a scientist but a monster, perhaps the guy we saw in arcane or another zaunite creature could fit the part but there's no way that the scientist make the part of the Monster unless you have some sort of Jekyll and Hyde scenario
I think it could be cool if Seraphine personality was like Luna in Harry Potter a weird kid that no one understands what she says but loveable and smart which also could have story like "she could hear brakerns and wanted to help them but no one would believe him because she was kinda weird and would say random shit all the time so no one believes her when she says the Stones are alive "
Honestly just have singed powered with a more stable version of shimmer where he gains super human abilities but retains his form for the most part and have his ulit make him look more infused with shimmer. It's still kind of out of character for singed to use his products on himself but maybe with a perfected shimmer he could do that.

I just want to say the dagger in Malzahar's splashart is not a mislead. Its actually in his lore. Before all of these "void stuff" malzahar was a huge visioner. He was able to see the future. And he was earning money from other magical tricks. And one time during one of his trick sth went wrong and he killed someone with this dagger. I dont remember anymore if it was his assistant or someone from audience. But after this incident Malzahar said that future cant be seen. Its unpredictable. He decided not to use his power anymore and he always keeps this dagger next to him to remember. Ive been curious why he has dagger on every single splashart of his skins but never uses it.

I think the solution (kinda) to the Singed problem is to take the champion Singed, and rename him. Make him some big, chem-fueled Zaunite knucklehead, I dunno. And then take Singed, the name, and put that on a new champion. Preferably a gross enchanter-style support with a bag full of chemical nightmares. It preserves gameplay Singed, but under a different name, and gives us a more accurate representation of lore Singed. this is obviously a big undertaking and its never gonna happen, but still,
About varus there is concept i imagined myself and its based on him fighting for control 1 move his W passive to standard passive 2 decrease his q base dmg and scaling 3 give him new W where you switch betwen darkin and human When darkin is in controll you aply stacks ,detonating stack deals magic damage as ussual every stack deals 6% targets max health but also heals you for 50% bonus damage dealt max 3% targets max health (can apply on multiple champions) but can't heal you more than 30% your max HP and your E aplies grevious wounds when human is in controll you gain 20% maximum atack speed your E reduces damage dealt by enemy champions standing in it by 15%/35% and grants you shield based of your max health 6% per enemy hit max 30% of your max health With R i would decrease apllied stacks from 3 to 2 and make it spread faster Thats it i would love to see your opinion on is it overloaded or not Goal on this idea is to make varus players more motivated to walk into atack range instead of standing off screan spaming q (early game) and become mixed damage selfsustainable adc that can mach all the meta champions

As someone who really likes Seraphine, I really hope they actually fix her lore and update her design. She could be SO cool, but she kind of just sits there doing nothing. TBSkyen had a few videos on cool ways they could have taken her lore.
(4:00) There are a lot of people in Legends of Runeterra that would make great champions. I would love to see Cithria become a champion. It would be cool to have her ride around the battlefield on a Silverwing Raptor.
What is a shame is that I'm a [redacted] main because I love her kit and playstyle the most, but her appearance, lore, and backstory is just so terrible, not to mention the worse marketing campaign of all time led up to her release.
