Great list and video! The '80s sure delivered some timeless Christmas flicks. Scrooged has been my No. 1 Xmas movie since I saw it in the theater back in the day.
Love me some Die Hard year around, but it was hard to bump it up over my top-3 picks. I'm sure I probably enjoy Scrooged more than many haha. Thanks for watching and happy holidays to you and yours Kurt!
I'm almost in total agreement with your list. I'd just switch the placement of _Santa Claus: The Movie_ and _Lethal Weapon_ , and replace _He-Man & She-Ra_ with _Silent Night, Deadly Night part 2_ 👍🎅❄️🦌🎄⛄️🎁
Great Christmas countdown video Anthony. Definitely some gems in here! I also have a video on the Best Christmas Movies of The 80s on my channel. Merry Christmas & Stay Gold, Australia's Retro Man.
It's hard to not go with Clark Griswold I mean the movie has everything going for it if you like dumb lighthearted humor. Thanks for watching Nita and Happy Holidays to you!
I personally like to watch both A Christmas Carol (1984/Gorge C Scott) and Die Hard when it comes to 80’s Christmas Movies. So much they are Musts for me every year with out them and many others that aren’t from the 80’s it just isn’t Christmas at all to me. ❄️🎄🎅🏼
That '84 A Christmas Carol is a tradition here as well. We always love the holiday mood of it. Same with A Charlie Brown Christmas, it's a tradition for us. Thanks for watching!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie You're Welcomed and I fully Agree although I always seem to miss out on Charlie Brown Christmas, maybe it's all I wanted to watch each year as by the time that I reminded myself that I should take the time to watch Charlie Brown Christmas it always seems to be too late as it is after Christmas Day. And of course the one that I didn't need to mentions is Scrooged. That was also on your list.
That is a classic. I haven't seen it in ages. Muppet Christmas Carol is usually the go-to but I'm going to try and track Family Christmas down his season for sure!
One year as kind of a nod to National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, we took a skeleton prop out of the Halloween box, dressed it as Clark Griswold and stood him outside holding the christmas lights and made it look like he electrocuted himself. 🤣 It's too bad the neighbors hated it. Also is it wrong that I like to watch Die Hard 2 around the holidays? I mean I just don't understand all the hate it gets. Sure it's a little similar to the first movie but in an airport, but I still enjoy the hell out of that movie. Plus I prefer it over the god awful later sequels.
Haha what an awesome holiday decoration. That skeleton would be coming out once a year at my house! Nothing wrong with Die Hard 2, Home Alone 2 is the same type of sequel and people love it too! So Die Hard 2 definitely gets a pass as well.
There’s another unconventional Christmas movie if you like Lethal Weapon or Die Hard. There’s a 1989 cop movie called “Dead Bang” where a LA Deputy Sheriff is shot dead on Christmas Eve and a detective spends the entirety of Christmas Day looking for the killer only to be targeted by a white supremacist cult. Unlike Lethal Weapon, it’s more plot driven and Don Johnson’s character feels a bit like a Dirty Harry archetype, but I find it interesting as a neo-noir action movie. It’s like comfort food for me.
