surf_progress is such an excellent map. It has tutorials built in for all the new surfers, but gives the experiences surfers something to do while everyone else is learning.
Yes society has become very insensitive. I become panicked by the system and especially governments. How people a hear news about massacres and feel nothing. That's because they themselves are in pain, they are not present and not awake! I think people are slowly becoming psycopaths and they are, most of them!
Could you do a video on surf tiers that goes indepth and explains how maps are categorized? It seems rather random sometimes, where two maps of same tier are very different in difficulty. But great video and as always enjoyable.
Well difficulty can sometimes be subjective. This being said maps aren't always categorized perfectly. Generally speaking though tiers are used almost as a rough outline to the difficulty of a map. Sure some hard tier 4's might be harder than the easiest tier 5's but the tiers are used as a general guideline rather than the purest scale of difficulty.
Tiers are assigned purely on subjective feel by the zoners, QA testers and mappers. We have a lot of experience and there isn't really a way to judge maps objectively upfront; its much easier to look at player data after there have been some completions to adjust the tier up- or downwards.
surf_me, feels amazing to surf and great visuals, quite easy but makes up for that with interesting and fun skips with a big difference in difficulty with the skips involved. If that dosnt float your boat it also have bonus 1 being really fun to run.
Fantastic video as always Repster! I wanna recommend some maps aswell (up to Tier 5): Tier 1: Only exists on CS:GO i think, but surf_how2surf is really good for teaching the basics, other than surf_beginner or surf_rookie Tier 2: surf_papertown is easy to complete and really hard to master. The skip close to the end will challenge you Tier 3: surf_ezclap was my first ever T3, it teaches you about smooth boards and angling yourself towards the obstacles and next ramps Tier 4: In the unit department, I enjoyed surf_lax and surf_neoteric_retexture. Both pretty hard smooth maps but insanely satisfying once you nail the concepts Tier 5: surf_elysium and surf_highlands are both nice and smooth Tier 5 maps. On the more technical side, you have surf_legendary, old and not that hard, but nonetheless really fun
Beautiful maps. What about making Iceberg of the most difficult surf maps (from easiest to hardest (ofc not every map, only the best ones)). Might be viral.
The society has its way to trap you and force this conveniences you don't need and sometimes I think you have to be bold enough to just run away from the system even if that means the government is on a manhunt after you!
this video actually helped my improvement a good bit, I took a break for ~6-7 months, was starting back at effectively scratch and decided to look for new maps, thinking that playing the same 3 or 4 on repeat was holding me back (it in fact was) so I grabbed pr much every map from this and marathoned them. fast forward about a week and I'm back at/past my former peak, now getting into more into tier 5 (i have a couple runs on elysium/elysium2) thanks to widening what I started on. Cannonball was to thank for a bunch of that improvement, you werent kidding on needing to be smooth to get those units there lol. anywho, thanks for what you do buddy
@StellaG.S. as far as I know, there is no way to savelov running cs locally with no mods or plug-ins. Your best bet is to find an empty surf server. (There are always at least a few)
how do you play surf. like the public servers just seam like a dice roll. How do I play any map I want with the right setting and everything they way the pros do it?
genuinely thank you for this, i saw surf_bugs back when it released and thought it was way too hard for me at the time and this impression stuck with me for a long time, but thanks to you i tried it now and enjoyed playing it, wonderful map
