The conservatives wanted Shapiro because they had already got a line of attack on him. I have a Republican friend that was already sharing attack memes on Facebook about Shapiro BEFORE Kamala made her pick. The material was highly salacious. The Republicans were so prepared for Shapiro, but Kamala did a switcharoo on them and they are dumbfounded. Kamala picked Walz because she's thinking of governing long-term with someone she feels better connected to, in my opinion and didn't need some one with baggage that the Republicans to could attack easily. From afar (Germany) it is really hard to understand why reasonable people favour Trump for a 2nd term. His first one wasn't that impressive, as a matter of fact, most of those that worked with him during that term are now warning you to give him a 2nd - which may be worse if Project 2025 is implemented and surrounds Trump with yay-sayers. As he has no clue on politics. He has no clue how to end the war in Ukraine and given that the red house of representatives heavily insisted on cutting Ukraine's funding the claim that this war would not happened on his watch (implying that Putin fears Trump) is mood - Putin knows that America first does not include protecting Ukraine from invasion. It is a lie like so many of Trump. Putin does not fear Trump, he favours him as much as MAGA people do. Trump hadn't a clue how to deal with North Korea and its nuclear weapon program and the result was that this program could proceed without being afraid to get into conflict with the USA. Remember that Trump told you otherwise? Another lie. And then his failure of leadership on Covid, the biggest crisis during his term, leaving it all to the states to handle it. How can one consider to entitle this guy again? I do not get it. And that is not even referring to all he did after he lost the election in 2020. Obviously from afar foreign policy matters more than anything else as that is what we allies experience. And so we see the upcoming election being a decision on whether we have a reliable NATO protecting each other from Putin or not. I met Kamala Harris in 2017 while I was attending a function as a representative of the Las Vegas indivisible group. I hand and then we held on to each other’s hands for a moment, and I looked in rise and asked her to please not forget those of us with pre-existing conditions. Republicans are trying to take away insurance and we need you. She told me she would remember me. A wave of excitement just rushed over me and then she took a picture with me and moved on. Now, knowing she could be the next president excites me so much that I just can’t help but speak out for her.
