Thank you Chuck for creating all this lab content in your channel. I studied and lectured IT till 2020 but, always focused on BPM and PM sides of it, avoiding coding any time I could.. Until I came across your channel a couple of months ago. Now I can't spend a day without learning more about coding mate. You're amazing mate, thank you thank you thank you
I bought an SNES one summer back in the day just to play SimCity non stop. I would let it run overnight to cash in a bunch of money to build more stuff, hehe. Sold it after the summer ended.
Chuck, you literally spoke the most honest truths there at the end when it comes to Linux, raspberry pis, kali, everything! I’m excited to know you’ve been doing this whole subject for multiple years. I’m still new to the channel and will check out more of your videos. But seriously, you’re doing your thang, bro!
I was in class and they informed us children about it. My dad was management at the local airport. My childhood brain thought they were telling me that happened to my dad. School didn’t even care they fucked with a ton of kids heads
Bro. Love this channel. You were the first link to my Google search of Raspberry Pi. I came for classic emu gaming and learned so much more! I will be watching more of your excellent videos. Great work my man!
The moment I received the Raspberry 4 I was kinda stunned how fast it works, I have used it as desktop aswel when my PC was gone and even works for web-development using FileZilla and edit images with GIMP. Amazing what a 70-80$ can do!
Hey guy I’m 69 years old I’m just getting started although I put computers together quite a bit since way back in 80s I’m just now learning how to get things together I’m getting started with the raspberry pies I’ve been collecting up a lot of the old systems I take computers apart and put them back together again just watch what makes them tick I never stop enjoying doing that raspberry pie I haven’t even started to hook up the first one that I’ve got I got it before they jacked up the price is three times more than what the hell he chip paid for it and enjoy your series I watch it all the time I’m learning a lot thanks a lot
Watching this one back 7:50 "We recently reached 100 members" now with 3,17 millions subscriptions! what a trip man! talking about curated videos, your setup here was already good for youtube and you got super pro with lights and filming/editing ! kudos! thanks for the great content Chuck!
In addition to what you said the Raspberry Pi also makes a great Pi-hole / VPN machine. PiVPN is one way to go but I only have experience using Wireguard on the Pi which has worked GREAT. The touchscreen that you have for the Pi is awesome I'll definitely be looking into it for my next Pi. My current Pi is headless as a GUI is not needed and it lowers memory usage.
The 80s and 90s were an unique and magical time in IT. Back when it all was just starting up. I have a retroflag nes pi case with working power, reset, leds etc and 2 usb controllers and 2 wireless ones even have a wireless 8bit do nes styled mouse
It’s funny, I bought the RPI4 specifically for Retropie, needless to say I’ve sunk into a tunnel of information relating to the pi and it’s so interesting. (Ethical) hacking to gaming, quite a wide range.
Congrats on the family brotha! So im new to this channel. Ive had a raspberry pi for like 3+ years now and literally never used it for anything because i could never figure out what i could do with it. Mine has the touchscreen thats like 7 inches! Im hoping I can get some ideas from your videos and utilize my Pi finally! The retropi has always seemed cool but I can do the same thing to my SNES classic! Great video hope to watch more!
You have a great video persona man just subscribed and you definitely pushed me to buy one. I’ve been teetering on the idea for a bit but you just made me feel like it would be fun no matter what i do with it haha
I really like the Rasberry Pi. I may get the 3 first and then the 4 in a month or two. I plan to use it to write stories. I am also starting to study linux. I started out with Dos and I loved Dos. I resisted moving towards a GUI for a while.
I love the Raspberry Pi as well. Great video. In fact I really enjoy SBC's in general, but the Pi has a much much larger community for support. I'd like to use the Pi for Wireshark to capture packets on my network. Do a video about that Chuck. Thanks man.
First time finding you... Great show and things to do! This is just where I am starting to get to know Linux. One PC dedicated to Linux and of course learning the WHOLE BUNCH of Raspberry Pi stuff.... Keep going. Not sure what year you are in but its all new to me. Thanks for the encouragement!
Using mine as a PI hole!! Super effective and kills all the annoyances that might have really effected the CPU usage and would have slowed down your comp.
I was around when the 1972 Atari came out. Yep! When I became a teenager I played games nicely on one from the 1980's. In those days, as primitive and cumbersome as they were every kid had to own an Atari arcade platform. Awesome content from NetworkChuck, thank you.
I’m a new subscriber and you inspired me to learn Linux. Regarding Raspberry Pi, I’ve been working in projects for the last 6 years. I currently have 3 (WD Labs, Gaming System and Touch Screen).
Watch videos of beginning Linux with your kids. Fantastic! I’m a kid at 62 with 35 years of IT. Got a PI 4 and was lost. This helped me tremendously. Thanks!
"what are you studying today?" I'm currently studying the CCNP Route exam. I actually just missed your live stream due to learning deeper concepts on EIGRP manual/auto summarization. Fun stuff! I just passed my Switch exam on Monday and will have the Route done here in mid September. Blowing through this NP.
.....damn....I came here to say how I couldn't help but comment on such a beautiful intelligent woman...and then I saw you were signed into your wife's account. Haha that's too good.
I was alive when the NES came out 😁 Got one for 6th grade “graduation”, but had to save half the money myself through extra chores and stuff. Child labor lol Thanks for the content. Getting my first raspberry pi to run Pi-hole for our home network, but am intrigued at how much can be done with them.
I was alive before Atari was invented..all we had was sub-par computer games..not many cool games but still overjoyed to see the start of internet gaming..oh, we didn’t have microwave ovens either..it was cool to see that invention come out..funny story, rumors at the time , one wasn’t supposed to stand near the working microwave based on “possible” cancer causing waves leaking through the door seals. Great memories. 😊
Hello NetworkChuck, I started following your channel about 2 months ago and I have learned more from your tutorials than courses I have taken out of my local college. Thank you for your great work. Can you do a tutorial on how to setup that little LCD screen with your raspberry pi, I even bought one because I want to try your methods, but when I tried setting up the screen, it did not work. Please help me with that.
I was born in 1996, so I was not alive when it came out chuck. 24 years old, but don’t feel bad because I wouldn’t have any of this AMAZING knowledge without your experience and brilliant mind! So thank you :)
These things are addicting. I now own two 4B's. I use one for pi-hole, like others have mentioned is great especially WiFi devices that don't have the greatest ad blocking, and for a mumble server. The second one I installed Jupyter with the Python3 and R IRkernel, installed letsencrypt with dynamic DNS. Kinda cool to practice on your own 'cloud server'.
Lovve your videos so informative😁😁network engineering is the best thing that happened to me I’m still studying it and getting slot of information off your channel
I use my raspberri pis as ip cameras, as IoT devices to track temperature / humidity, and as 3d printer monitor (octopi). There are some low frequency microphone pickup every time you touch the table, I would suggest adding some foam or rubber isolation between mic and table or perhaps a high pass filter in software.
I love raspberry pi's, I was playing with one, Now my company has deployed over 50 with the software I wrote for it. My main uses for a Pi, Pi hole, Digital screen for Storefronts, Media box, Smart TV upgrade Home Automation I've learned so much about Linux just tinkering with the pi. I was ok with Linux but I'm a lot better now. I started with Slackware 2.4 ish. Then didn't use it till about 5 years ago.
Please listen to your audio for this video on a sound system with a big sub. You have an issue with low frequency when you touch your keyboard. It booms in the mic. Consider a low cut on the mic channel in your edit. Hope this helps.
What if im on studio monitors power and vol knobs only ;) u can use some high pass filter at arr 80-120Hz to smooth things out on the mic channell.. one plugin doesnt make much difference when exporting vids
It's not just the keyboard, it's everytime he touches his table and if you look closely, his mic will shake. The Problem can be solved easier: don't screw the mic on your table or have a better stand.
I have a beard and a beer (or 2) here in Elgin, Texas. I have 2 Rpi 4 8G units and a 1B+ in house and am waiting for 6 CM4s (8G ram) with IO boards. I have built a pi DNS and a multiboot system using BerryBoot, with the goal of getting the grub boot loader to work. You are right about the pi 4 not being stout enough to run VMs, but a cluster of 6 multiboot systems where you can control what's running where is cool. Essentially, I am building a home cloud/lab so I can learn the ends and outs of things like K8s, Ansible, Docker, ... . I was a chip designer most of my career, retired now, and want to learn all of this just because. Your channel is one of cool knowledge share tools helping an old soul like me. Love your presentation method.
Another great use is video surveillance. Kerberos video surveillance system, with Escam QH002 and QD300 IP cameras, makes for a cheap and versatile system. Still in the process of building one myself.
Hey man. I’m a bit of a newbie so I would like to see you do a setup video on how to put this all together. It would really help a lot! Thanks for the vids 🤙🏻
My first video game console was a Family game NES with the 122 in 1 when i was like 9 years old, loved it. My best friend gave me a Raspberry pi 3 with SNES installed and i downloaded more games, its sooooo fun. Now i recently bought a raspberry pi 4 and watching your video to install Kali into it.
If you guys wish you had got into Pi Network much sooner dont be sad because there is another company doing the same as pi that just came out 5 days ago. Just search Bee Network in the App store. And use the Invitation Code tayne78 that youmcan start to mine Ps i am always active Np
Dude! I like you. HAHA. I am so new to linux and kali, but really wanting to learn. I was literally just about to open a Deep Ellum IPA! I have several left and I am involved in the music/art scene in Deep Ellum. Thanks for the video, looking forward to continuing to watch.
