I’ve been with ufs/universus since 2006 Penny Arcade Set! Thanks for shedding some more light on a seriously underrated TCG! I think it should be in the top 10 TCGs. You’ve made some great points about how unique this game is and hopefully from this video more players will join in!
They never had a Yu Yu Hakusho starter deck did they? Wish they did as we’d buy it to learn how to play with Yu Yu Hakusho cards. Also it’s kinda a shame they went All-In on My Hero as if it was going to be super successful and it flopped. Hard. At anime cons I had taken pictures of several vendors that were full of the My Hero stuff and it just wasn’t selling. It also killed the small UFS scene we had here because UFS had done one Yu Yu Hakusho set, we were all hyped for it, we picked up UFS Cowboy Bebop and Street Fighter Decks, Yu Yu Hakusho boxes, and Mega Man. We were all hyped for the diversity of IPs in the game, then it became just My Hero, My Hero, My Hero and none of us wanted to touch it and the game died locally. Shame too, as it was like pulling teeth to get just 1 of our 5 local card shops to carry/support it. None of our other card shops would touch it, and the one that did felt burned when they got stuck with a bunch of My Hero boxes that wouldn’t sell. This new version of the game UniVersus, did it ever get a Yu Yu Hakusho deck or is this twice now of no YYH deck? Any YYH sleeves or deckboxes? We’d buy them if they made them. Also, for those of us who bought Yu Yu Hakusho UFS set boxes is it cross compatible with the New Universus YYH set? Like, is there an Expanded format that allows UFS YYH or Cowboy Bebop to be played with UniVersus YYH or Cowboy Bebop together in the same deck?
