Amazing video!! Thank you for shining a light on some talent that we don't often get to hear about from only following Japan's offline events. I'm rooting for Ron to do big things this weekend at Maesuma
Would be great to see Prand Grix and Mutama show up to an offline tournament someday, being ranked top 5 of all-time in Smashmate is a big tell to the insane potential these guys have
Incredible video, this is something I've always wondered about!! This video NEEDS more attention because you're truly holding it down for the Ult nerds these days. :D
About two years ago, there was a HERO player who was active in smashmate. That player's name is Re:'SHUNP. He hit 2200 in HERO alone, then competed in the offline event "kagaribi4",where he finished 33rd despite losing to Raito and shky. He made a 2100 using Sora after it was delivered. When Sora first launched, 2100 was a great achievement, and he ranked first in smashmate's Sora rankings, ahead of Kameme, who is now the top Sora player. He is one of the great smashmate players.
Great video! Also, I was already shook when 1 Bowser Jr showed up so high in the rankings, but another one in Top 5? I’m still taking the time to process this… Unsure when I’ll recover
This video is very nice! The Japanese players have been thoroughly researched. I want the world to know the power of Japanese online players through videos like this! (This is Google translation, so it may be weird)
Its a shame my favorite players : Hakadama and Reumina didn't make it on the list. SmashMate is such a cool leader board where you can meet so many good players that you wouldn't hear otherwise
I've heard that Prand Grix and Mutama don't go to tournaments because they don't want to show their face. Does anyone who is Japanese want to explain why someone would be so afraid to? I would never expect an American to say that. Something to do with work culture or employment?
Could be for the same reason why a lot of American content creators don't reveal their face, and make their face reveals such a big deal, like Dream for example. Not saying this is the case but could be a reason why.
